Dynamic Queue/New Champion Select Survival Guide

Hey guys! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CWKXqOgVAAEz1MN.jpg The 2016 Ranked Season is just around the corner, and with it comes a slew of changes to the Ranked Queue system - more specifically, how you play with people and select your champion has been completely revamped. In this post I'm going to go over some of the more important changes and aspects that will help you get the most out of the start of the Season, from entering the queue to loading up on the Rift. {{champion:201}} * The Ranked Teams queue for Summoner's Rift and the original Solo/Duo queue have been _removed_ and replaced with the new **Dynamic Queue.** Not much should change for you if you are a solo or 2 man party, but now you can play with up to five people at a time in Ranked. * When playing in Dynamic Queue, you will be facing off against a party **of a similar size to the largest group on your side.** For example, if a 3-man party joins the queue and gets accepted, they are very likely to take on a 3-man party on the other side. * You now have more control over where you play. You can **choose up to two different positions to queue up into** - Top, Jungle, Mid, Bot and Support, as well as Fill. Fill is a wildcard that adds you to all the queues. * You will select two of these roles, one as a Primary, and the other as Secondary. **Your Primary role will be your 'main' queue**, while the **Secondary will fill you in** if there's room or if it helps find a faster game. For example, if you pick Mid as a Primary role and Top as a Secondary role, the system will prioritize finding a game with an open Mid slot, while looking out for open Top slots. * The Fill role functions similarly, but will instead **open you up to all Position queues.** * When you have your team, you will enter **Pick Intent,** where you **highlight the champion that you wish to play** in the game. This is great to help you sort out a potential team comp. * Once you're in the lobby, **respect the position you're given**. Taking a position from another teammate without prior agreement [[1](https://twitter.com/RiotLyte/status/689668751537483776)] **IS A REPORTABLE AND PUNISHABLE OFFENSE** in the New Champion Select. * **EDIT:** Here are some tweets from Riot Lyte [[2](https://twitter.com/RiotLyte/status/689646191454195712)] [[3](https://twitter.com/RiotLyte/status/689646508447178753)] clarifying that it is reportable/bannable under Unsportsmanlike Conduct, and that it can be auto-detected. * You must now **LOCK IN ALL BANS AND PICKS** in the New Champion Select. Failing to confirm a pick or ban results in the match being abandoned and **a dodge penalty being applied to the guilty party.** Expect a lot of matches being failed because of this in the next few days as players adapt. Patience is a virtue * **Bans have now been handed to the 3rd, 4th and 5th pick respectively**, to distribute a bit more power into the team. * After bans, **picking champions continues as normal**, in a 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1 order between Blue and Red (same as in Draft Pick). Champions are picked one at a time by players, to prevent champ swiping from another player. Note that **you have less time** to pick a champion. * Champion swapping then takes place before the match begins, if players have an agreement in place to swap champions. Hopefully this post has helped you work out what happens in the New Champion Select. You may want to take part in one or two Normal matches with this to get used to the experience, but that is entirely your choice. Enjoy the experience, and GL HF on the Rift this Season! - The Noble Poro {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}
