Poacher's Dirk - forgotten, yet great item

Hello Summoners, recently i've started to play Assasin junglers and found this lovely item {{item:3252}} , for those of you, who don't know what it is. 500g 10AD, UNIQUE passive: Stealing 4 jungle monsters from enemy jng will transform it into Serrated Dirk {{item:3134}} I think this item has briliant design - rewarding you (saving 600g) for counterjungling. But i've never noticed anyone else to buy this item. Why is it so?
