The title says it... this feature gives Azir an unfair advantage, especially when fighting around baron, because his soldiers can't be killed and he is relatively safe while doing it. Also, Mordekaiser Ghosts, Shaco clones and Heimer turrets can't kill wards, so it would just be fair if the soldiers couldn't do it either.
