thoughts on tanky junglers? how do you carry games as one?

slow clear speeds, lack of presence, rely on team doing well? put it this way if all 3 lanes are losing, and your not even lvl 6 yet what are you even supposed to do? i personally hardly ever play tanks because it doesn't fit well with my play style. But honestly if anyone has any information in how you can carry as a tanky jungler such as maokai and sej especially in gold elo that would be great. Would come in handy when my team has 0 tanks... My problem is the jungle clearing speeds...it feels so god damn slow to me? it just feels like while i'm busy getting to lvl 3 enemy jungler is already well on his way to ganking a lane and i'm still here slowly clearing a camp?
