From the perspective of these few years... is Yi a failed rework?

(please, do not downvote, i am just asking) I LOVE new{{champion:11}} . I love the coherence of his kit, i love his well established signature playstyle, i love his gamble on lategame fantasy, build flexibility, everything. He is cool. However, there is one thing that the old Yi had, and the new Yi does not.... ... old Master Yi, in his AP mid incarnation, had had seen some professional, competitive action every now and then. The new one has not, and most likely never will. Which i am absolutely cool with. Neither will Garen or Teemo or Xin (unless someone messes with his numbers again). But i miss seeing some LCS wuju.
