Got a huge lead early but still lose it

So I play alot of {{champion:236}}, I would say i'm an unskilled player but when i get like 8 and 0 in lane as lucian I cant keep the lead because the midlane is as strong as me just got higher burst potential even though i'm {{champion:236}}. Or i just get locked down by {{champion:254}} and I don't get how i could prevent that from happening. And even when I splitpush they come like 5man down to kill me. And that happens all the time nearly every game they always have the cc to lock me down or burst me down and I simply lose the game. How can I prevent this from happening?
