: > Unfortunately, with the new plating you are forced to stay on lane much more. True but it depends on how well you roam... a good roam especially if you coordinate with your jungler can result in you taking tower plates yourself... or you can even get your jungler to cover for you. Turret plating does make this harder but that ain’t an issue with lissandra as like o said her kit is particularly suited to roaming regardless... and like other roamers this is an issue. > In addition, in D2+ elo you are happy if you make 2 roams in a game, since there are wards everywhere. True... but that’s actually tying into a strengh that lissandra has... she’s got a long range dash with her E, that allows her to gank in more unexpected angles which can avoid a few wards... she can also turret dove with her ult meaning them retreating can still be fine for you, and if your laner follows if you are fast enough you can have a thrall out already when they arrive allowing you to escape. Like I said even in absence of her passive she’s an amazing roamer and that’s how she would get advantages rather than pure 1v1. > You don´t wanna play a champion with which you want to go even on lane and be satisfied with it Your not? Well there goes my entire champion pool. Lots of champions are happy with going even... any hyper carry wants to go even as that means they won lane, anyone with better scaling than their opponent can go even in lane and be pretty happy as you will come out of lane more useful than your counter part. Liss has a lot of cc and stalling power, she doesn’t need a great deal of damage, compared to the burst mages and assasins in the mid lane she’s more than happy to go even as no matter what she’s useful to her team. Of course you want to create advantages and liss can do that by roams, but as long as you aren’t feeding you can leave lane content. Obviously this is personal preference, and every champion wants to look to win lane... but a thing I learnt as a sion main, I can look to kill and win lane, but failing that going even gives me an advantage and I can still translate that advantage elsewhere with roam... lissandra works in a similar way. > Unfortunately she became mid Vik #2 who needs to pass the early-mid game in order to be useful. And that´s something you didn´t need before. You could take the fate into your own hands. And I find this as a huge disadvantage currently. Oh look another one of my champions... yeah I think that says something about me. Unlike vik you’ve got cc, you’ve got your ult, you’ve got your thralls. Your advantages don’t have to come from damage, simple cc can become an advantage for you. Again this is coming into roams and if you want advantages roams are now a big thing for liss. So in a better spot than vik, and she can hold her own in a 1v1 so she’s not gonna struggle early game... she can be proactive... it’s just gonna be less of a snowball and more picking your fights. > The main point - I don´t fully understand why they changed it. They said the old passive was way too lackluster and insignificant. But now, as I´ve lost it, I see how OP it was. Like I said, past early game the passive was useless... you don’t need mana sustain passives mid to late game unless you are constantly fighting which is unrealistic or wasting mana... so out of lane she didn’t have a passive, where as in lane now she doesn’t have a passive. The difference is that early game is arguably the least important phase... it’s still important but a lost fight early game isn’t the end, a lost fight late is... so it’s better for a champion to have a passive which comes online later than only online early game. ___ I notice now the reason for differing opinions on this comes from playstyle... you want to create advantages in lane to translate into an advantage later on... I tend to focus on surviving lane and create advantages through early game roams. Both works but the old liss passive catered to your playstyle better while the new one caters to mine... so I’m gonna find it infinitly more useful > (lol btw, I have you in my friendlist on the EUW server) Must have been from that point where all of the board regulars started adding each other, back when clubs got released and people actually cared about them... what is your summoner name on EUW, I’m curious to see if I recognise you lol.
VojtaMKWii99 - we´ve been friends for 4 years at least, but recently I switched over to the EUNE since most of my Czech friends have accounts there and most of the tournaments I wanna take tak place there as well. But must say, that your final conclusion summerized it perfectly. I think the option of carrying earlygame fits me the most (since very few players actually didn´t underestimate her early all in power, even before 6), but I guess I have no other option now. I´ll try to switch to Electrocute instead of an Aery/Aftershock, will see how it will go even w/o Protobelt. Thanks for the discussion!
: Riot what are u doing?!
To be clear, her winrate is poor. But that´s only due to her picks at low elo... These players have honestly no idea of how to play her. She has a severe learning curve, which reflects her winratio. BUT on a Dia+ level, she was a pick or ban champ. Her outplay potential was way too forgiving and also high reward. Her current changes are okay. She still keeps her damage output, which is way better than if they made changes on dmg spells instead of the W.
: Because you are playing her like old liss and that was never gonna work. Firstly mana... early game her old passive was a crutch, now it’s gone you need to relearn how to manage mana on her... which isn’t impossible. Second thing is items... yes a mana item is now imperative but it doesn’t hurt too much... it just moves you more to having to poke first before your all in. You might also need something like electricute to help out. Thirdly it not being useful early game... to that I ask how useful was her old passive late game. Yeah in lane her passive isn’t going to help but with her old passive you wherent gonna get any use out of it late, almost no champion has mana issues by that portion of the game and mana sustain passives loose efficiency... loosing your passive early game for an actual passive for the rest of the game is a worthy trade off imo. Fourthly you don’t have to win lane as lissandra... obviously it helps, buther passive will hurt and be effective no matter what, and her strenghs lie in her cc and stalling which don’t require a lead... if you are picking a champion for burst and snowballing you aren’t gonna pick liss... so the lack of kill pressure in lane isn’t the end of the world. Finally her new passive is great on ganks... simply roam down bot lane and her passive can help pick up a second kill, or retreat if their jungler shows. Liss has powerful ganking tools even without her passive, you should have been doing this already. From my experience her passive is a godsend... I’ve got a friend who plays a lot of liss and when I’m playing with him it’s the only time I actually enjoy adc, cause the set up his passive a,axing... the perma slow makes kiting easy and landing skill shots even easier... plus the bot lane ganks always get me fed. She’s never been a champion for outright killing... more roaming and creating advantages... this passive is great for that purely because in skirmishes the perma slow guarentees your allies hitting their skills.
Alright. Unfortunately, with the new plating you are forced to stay on lane much more. In addition, in D2+ elo you are happy if you make 2 roams in a game, since there are wards everywhere. But true, I should try to roam way more. But the main problem is on the lane. You don´t wanna play a champion with which you want to go even on lane and be satisfied with it. Unfortunately she became mid Vik #2 who needs to pass the early-mid game in order to be useful. And that´s something you didn´t need before. You could take the fate into your own hands. And I find this as a huge disadvantage currently. The main point - I don´t fully understand why they changed it. They said the old passive was way too lackluster and insignificant. But now, as I´ve lost it, I see how OP it was. (lol btw, I have you in my friendlist on the EUW server) Thanks for the reply tho!
