: 8.16 and asassin nerfs
Assassins nerfs was very well deserving. However, it's not going to put them to being unviable, they are still capable of one shorting squishees. Hell, they were too viable...the ban rate on them was through the roof, not even AP Assassins I'm seeing (also you probably should have AD Assassins on your title instead of just Assassins) or Mages when I play mid lane... And for Wukong to have so much damage with a leap, invisibility and knock up? Yeah please. Tanks aren't even strong and you have Conquerors for crying out loud...

Because in that case it'd be apparent that content he is making is not enjoyable for the players. Even if some players like his champions? Although, a Rioter can't just make a champion and release it on his own. He should show it the higher ups and get the approval. If all or most of CertainlyT's champions are hated, shouldn't mean the one who approved it be fired and not CertainlyT?
: Let me return to the restaurant analogy - would you say that the owner shouldn't fire a cook, who can't cook? After all it is the cook's livelyhood as the stake. In truth, keeping such a person is going to be more detrimental in the long run. Restaurant that won't fire the terrible cook will fail quickly and the owner, waiters and rest of the staff will find themselves unable to put the food on the tables. Riot won't fail as quickly, but makind decisions for the company based on the interests of individual employees rather than customer satisfaction will hurt everyone just as well, it might just take longer time for a game of LoL's scope to finally die. Keeping the bad employees will however make that process way faster.

Keeping the bad employees will however make that process way faster. In this case, should CertainlyT get fired for making frustrating champions? I don't know if Riot is going by their own interest, but even if they do so, they will for sure die down. I'm sure they are not stupid to not know that though.
: Just to be clear - if Riot, based on metrics and their internal review and reasonable feedback regarding game featurtes decided that any given designer is not doing their job good enough or his style does not fit with the design philosophy or whatever, then that person should be by all means fired. But if community wants to accomplish that they need to identify problematic features and design decisions and explain why this or that change feels bad in the game. And if enough of such community communicated issues turn out to be problems, then firing the person responsible will be a good thing for the game. But this is different from having a hate-sink designer and saying that they should be fired because... reasons.
> [{quoted}](name=The Smith of Lie,realm=EUNE,application-id=2BfrHbKG,discussion-id=OWOu4hyf,comment-id=000b00000000,timestamp=2018-08-16T14:07:08.477+0000) > > Just to be clear - if Riot, based on metrics and their internal review and reasonable feedback regarding game featurtes decided that any given designer is not doing their job good enough or his style does not fit with the design philosophy or whatever, then that person should be by all means fired. > > But if community wants to accomplish that they need to identify problematic features and design decisions and explain why this or that change feels bad in the game. I don't know. I got mixed feelings about what you said. It's still the person's career too and means to get the food on the table.
: While I don't support any of the demands for firing of the Rioters, I don't think that we as the consumers should hold the livelyhood of any person working for the company as a reason for our actions. If you went to the restaurant and were served indebile dish made by incompetent cook, you'd demand a refudn and you'd probably never visit again unless they've changed the cook. Because why would you spend your money just to subsidize someone in the job they're bad at? The real problem with "Fire Rioter X" attitude is that it in no way addresses underlying problems and is just a way to find a scapegoat for whatever the people making demands percieve as wrong with the game. Which is ridiculous. Project of the LoL's scope is a complex thing and I believe it'll be difficult to pin-point who is to blame for any given problem. Not to mention that many of the supposed problems are highly subjective, poorly communicated and even if the person responsible for this or that design decision have been fired it doesn't mean game would change for the better. After all just removing a person is not equivalent of indentifying a problem and coming up with solution.

If something that didn't seem like a good idea, firing the person will not make it any person. Better yet, someone who takes his/her place might even be worse than the previous one, and could add an additional problem rather than reduce it.

: While we should always try to hold ourselves and our teams accountable it can be easy to forget that changes to the game go through multiple people and none of them are done with ill intent. Additionally as Eambo mentioned there is a real human being behind the username or title and we should all hold ourselves to a higher standard than ill wishing anything on another person be it for their in game skills, disagree with the work they have done etc. I think Riot as a whole is quite receptive to feedback but there is definitely a way to deliver feedback as Eambo mentioned I too love reading player feedback when someone takes the time to explain how they feel, what the problem is and maybe a suggestion as to how to fix it [EXAMPLE](https://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-en/Bnito9yx-towers-dont-feel-like-towers?show=flat). : Not saying you should or shouldn't have anything against the man, as that wasn't the point of it all, just realise that if you are in charge of a particular area, then you hold the responsibility for that area in both good and bad decisions made. As for GC working at Riot now, I can't say he's done anything I would understand that causes people to lash out at him, seeing as he's leading their arts department, and their arts department is probably the one not making a cluster%%%% of everything.

I don't what he's a lead of (Or was), but I'm going to take your word and that he was a lead on arts department. If people are blaming him over things he's not in control of, then that's dumb. Blaming someone on balance while he's in charge of art department...there is a saying in my language (Arabic) "Shu jeb toz bi marhaba?" Which is a translation to "what involved fart with hell?" : Actually it does, when you are leading any department, any major final decisions are signed off by you thus falling onto you whether good or bad. GC became became the leader of WoW development at the end of the 3rd expansion WotlK if I remember right, which was when the game was turned from a great cooperative MMO, into a kindergarden with instant gratification focusing heavily on 30min session in which you could see end-game content in less than 1 week.., which became 4 weeks since they had to artifically gate the content by releasing some of it after 2 weeks of opening, to avoid even the most casual 3 year old kids being bored to death. : Most people who wish that, don't even realize what they are saying at the moment of rage. It's such a strong psychological state of mind that it even locks the person out of the surrounding areas and also locks out of common sense, if the anger within is strong enough. The person can regret it multiple years later, when he suddenly remembers the situation, but most likely won't even bother calming down in anytime near the incident that made him angry. However, while most people do have self control, the people on the internet are usually outsiders one way or another and as such, are more leniant on controlling themself and more compulsed to control the environment(which is something not possible on the net. Because that's pretty much exactly the topic he is addressing in that interview (since he is probably the most blamed personality in the gaming industry). : Except that doesn't happen. Companies don't simply cater to mobs demanding they fire somebody. If anything, there were situations in wich an employee broke comany guidelines, got fired because of that and some people on the Internet attributed firing to the mob outrage that broke on Reddit or other forums. People responsible for hirings aren't that stupid to throw capable workforce under the bus just because someone calls for it. Hiring and training new employees can be quite expensive.

Hiring and training new employees can be quite expensive. While of course a company shouldn't cater to people who want specific employees to be fired. Obvious thing aside, it's pretty stupid and immature to even think it in the 1st place. While hiring and training may be expensive, it should be worth it, right? You train the new comer, they become skilled, do the job as they should be, then...company success! Or so how I think it is at least.

Although I don't think that's counted since he was very pissed. Again, I don't think a lot of people really think about what they're asking though. They want a Rioter to be fired, not a person. While logically they're one in the same, the internet has made people separate the two things - meaning they don't think about the human aspect of things. Similar to how often people say "kill yourself" but obviously don't actually mean that (as toxic as it is) - there's a disconnect that makes them believe they're talking to a non-real entity online, not a person they could meet in the street, a potential friend or family member, someone they went to school with. I wouldn't take it too personally (and don't for that reason ^_^) - people like to vent their frustrations against an ominous being that doesn't exist in the real world.

: I don't believe a large amount of the community who asks for such things considers what they're actually asking/saying. One of the downsides of the internet is that things are pretty impersonal. I'm a "Rioter", I'm "Eambo" - I'm not a person to a lot of people. That's pretty standard on the internet, you don't realise you're talking to/about a person, a fellow human, someone trying to make their way in the world - instead it's just a virtual entity with no meaning or thought. This isn't an attempt at me saying "Oh poor us, please forgive everything" - we do dumb stuff sometimes, and we remain accountable despite what you see externally. We're still a company, and the decisions made should be in a general good direction - you can't please everyone, but the changes should have good justification generally. One thing that tends to get more responses or views from Rioters is when we find posts that are genuinely constructive - I love reading through posts on "Why I enjoyed season <x>" or "How league could be better" with good thinking and explanation behind it - over "SEASON 4 WAS BETTER FU RITO FIRE EVERYONE I HOPE YOU DIE AS A COMPANY" - one has more value to us than the other as you can imagine :P

Yeah I've seen it. It's really stupid. They don't even know what they are asking for. As someone who has to live my entire with the fact that there is blood on my own hands, I can't even stand asking for what these people on boards are demanding.
: Skin and balance teams are two separate departments. Not sure why you would think the balance team are "trying to grab money" as very little of what they do has to do with revenue raising, and is more to do with keeping game play healthy. Game constantly shifts, there will always be strong picks and weak ones, that's life. It's the same in any game with a variety of classes - look at WoW which has significantly less variables, yet there's still always strong and weak classes, and it gets changed with nerfs/buffs and other changes etc.

I agree on that statement, but doesn't mean everything that occurs is healthy in general for the game. Electrocute? Too much damage? Weak turrets? Short lane phase? How are these even healthy for the game?

Although, I would go mostly on the balance team. Regardless of what changes they do, whether we like it or not (even if it sounds too stupid to even exist), saying that they should be fired is not right or even mature.

: playing normals
I'm as annoyed as you are, mate. I went Tank Vel'Koz a few times. Only AP item I had was Luden's. The rest just all armor items. Still able to one shot though, and of course was on normals. I was flamed by the enemy team though, my allies were just laughing and amazed by it. Although, my answer to your question would be yes and no. Yes because i love this game and I do what I want, just as long as it's not ranked. But with how so many issues in game, like Electrocute and too much damage, short laning phase, weak turrets, etc. It's just not fun and toxic in general. I already try to take a break as much as I can (I don't have the means to log in every day anyway).

: If I'm gonna moan about anything it's ADC itemisation since Stormrazor came out. That item came out as a much needed 1-item powerspike for this meta, but for real crit DPS it puts you behind in your build so rather than hit a nice 2 item spike and scale to infinity from there, you have a nice 1 item spike, then a lull, then a 3 item spike for literally every crit ADC. And then unless you want to delay being able to deal real damage, you need to wait until your 4th item before you can add lifesteal, ArPen or a defensive item. And all that would be absolutely fine except for one thing. You can't really get away with not building Stormrazor first (or BRK) since the faster scaling builds are just far too weak on just components. I'd be happy sacrificing some damage (that's the point of faster scaling - weak now, strong later) but the level of trade-off you need to make is just too punishing.

I never understood that item, or ADC in general, so I don't speak about that role, no right to do so anyway. But how I understood Stormrazor was like since even without 100% crit, within a few delay you get a guaranteed crit with a stronger damage. All I know is it was supposed to be for crit ADC as a way to make Crit ADC more late game and to get rid of the bot lane problem. I very rarely play ADC, so I can't really understand the issue you got...

: can someone explain me what is tank meta?
Put it this way: A full tank Maokai (not even a single damage item, only hp, Mr and armor items) able to pants kill my entire team SOLO, despite me being Vel'Koz (a true damage champion, with void staff and mp boots and torment), with a Vayne and a Thresh, and 2 other champs I forgot (but 1 with good cc too and other with damage). This match was the most toxic match I have ever had back when tank meta was a thing. I believe it was Season 6. Now since you are quite new here, Maokai is a tank with a good load of cc. And the role of a tank is supposed to ONLY and I mean ONLY soak up damage, do cc, be the front line and the engage. Shouldn't do any form of massive damage whatsoever. All in all, tank doing what they are not supposed to do (which is to do damage) and the tank meta was something VERY unhealthy for the game.

: Who is the best champion in league?
I'm a Vel'Koz main too. But such a question is difficult to answer. My only answer is, whatever is meta right now. With all do respect, I disagree that Yasuo is the strongest. His main weaknesses are hard cc, especially point and clicks. But as long as every champion had a counter, no champion is actually the strongest.
