: Hi. I'm just curious why you appear as a rioter but you are not red ?_?
I used to be a Rioter, left some time ago. Some parts of Boards did not update too well.
: Getting back into the game after a Year off.
* Played a lot of Janna S4 as well. You might want to consider reworked Zeke's, fits her nicely. Don't pick it if you like to roam, only if you stay close to an AD carry. * She is really good along with the new AD carry Kalista. First you need to right-click on a spear she throws at you and you're soul-bound for the rest of the game. When she ulties you, you disappear from the map and then you left-click anywhere for Malphite ulti. Then you can follow it up with your ulti to push the enemies back! Bit risky for Janna but it usually works out. * Your ulti is still really important, as current top picks and new champions jump in your face, eg Fiora, Ekko, Rek'Sai. * Dragon control is much more important now. Every time your team kills the dragon you get a permanent buff. When a team gets 5 you pretty much win. * Also, holding down Tab allows you to see baron/dragon/buff timers on the top, you no longer need to call times in chat.

: Sorta one step ahead of that thought -- I'm fairly new to the game and been mainly playing Soraka so far -- I like the dedicated heal type of toon - however, I unlocked chars like Zyra or Morgana that could play mid as weel. This happened by chance, as all I wanted was to unlock a versatile char. I figured if I'd be able to play them as support, it wouldn't be too much of a leap to play them on a solo lane. I'm fairly comfortable(ish) playing support at entry levels, and the will to learn another role is mainly because there's plenty of supports on my group of friends and we keep finding them on draft-picks :)
My suggestion to learn faster: 1) Play Morgana 3-5 times support, so you more or less understand her Q's speed and range, timing for her shield, use of her ulti etc. You can try [this build](http://matchhistory.eune.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/EUN1/1146632888/33252876?tab=builds) 2) Try Morgana mid, [with a different build](http://matchhistory.eune.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/EUN1/1174997319/33252876?tab=builds) My builds/runes/masteries are not the best but they're a decent start. Trick in mid is to max W first, so you can farm safely. As a support, you want to max E if the lane does heavy magic damage, Q otherwise for the kill/catch potential.
Luis Sc (EUW)
: No one wants to chose support...
There are multiple support champions that are good/decent in mid. * Morgana farms safely * Zyra has strong lane presence * Karma can be a bully * Lulu is all the above * Annie actually started off at mid * Lux is a great and easy to learn mid that is sometimes played as support * Zilean, when played, can be both mid and supp Start with a champion you know in the new lane, and when you understand the tricks of the lane (trading, pathing, safe distances, warding spots, itemization etc) you can start training your mechanics with a different champion ;) Better to learn one thing at a time instead of two at the same time

: A follow up question. Is the whole Institute of War and Summoners using Champions to settle disputes system still in place or is that going to be replaced?
I'm not on the narrative team so I can't give you a specific answer. **The way I understand it**, the Institute and Summoners were forcing us to make worse stories than we could, so we've paused the whole idea behind them and we'll decide what's best about them in the future. For now, we make stories (Shurima, Bilgewater) that aren't limited by the concept of the Institute or Summoners, and champions that aren't limited by the concept that they _have to_ sign up to the League. Miss Fortune? Draven? Not everyone plays these champions. While it is not likely that both teams use all their bans towards adcs (and both adc players would suffer from it) that is exactly whats happening with the jungle currently. 5 or 6 bans are usually targeted towards the jungle and if the enemy picks one of the champs I play I am usually forced to play champs that I am not perfectly comfortable with. but that happens on a daily basis.
I just made an example. The bans can be targeted to any lane ;) And yes, it sucks when it happens now with 6 bans, it would be worse with 10.

I still remember playing Anivia top/bottom so I can hit enemies with my Q more easily. Also playing Sion mid starting with E first so I can get more max Health by lasthitting minions from Level 1. More forgiving times.

I understand the use that more bans can have, but can more bans be exploited? What happens if all bans are targeting one role? Imagine there are 10 bans like that: Ashe Corki Graves Ezreal Jinx Kalista Kog'Maw Sivir Tristana Vayne There's a very high chance that the two ADCs won't be comfortable with any of the leftover picks. : Greetings. Let me try to clear something up here: > afks at fountain (this is the new form of rage leaving which cant be caught by leaverbuster, and this is a BIG BIG PROBLEM) No, LeaverBuster actually detects this. You can run around in the base, you can run around in the jungle not participating: LeaverBuster is actually designed to capture when players are purposely not engaging in the game. There's a false rumour that LB doesn't detect it because the players name isn't red during the post game screen. When a players name is red, it means he is disconnected, and not online for the post game screen. It does not in any way indicate that this is the only time a player is detected by LB. If you AFK for a few minutes, you'll catch the attention of LB. Do it too often, and you'll get punished. People running around in the fountain claiming they'll never get punished for it are actually just going to be swallowing their own words.
Agreed that there are false rumors flying around that confuse people. Have a look at [this recent case](http://boards.oce.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/ogahrTLt-leaverbuster-is-brutal) where a player feels that LeaverBuster is too strict for punishing him for idling in base, letting the opponents win faster, even when he was buying items and dropping wards.

Many champions have a dash nowadays so Anivia's kit is not as strong as she was 2-3 years ago. Fighting Zed or Kata as Anivia makes Q a defensive tool instead of harass/kill potential

: Idk... wht always crosses my mind is that people will often treat you differently cus you have 'Riot' in your name. (if in a positive or negative way am I an not to judge) Did you realize anything like that in your games? Or am I just mistake assuming this? xd
: This depends on how skilled you are in rolling your head very precisely.
Since Q is one of the slowest projectiles in the game, I'd say it's not as much about shooting it skillfully, but as to how skillful other players are at dodging it. Though you can get better at hitting the Q if you guess your opponent's reactions and positioning.

: Moderation for in-game chat rooms
Though the client still needs a lot of work put into it, last time I checked the client team had chatroom upgrades as a pretty high priority. We know that players form clans like yours, communities like LFG, groups like PWR or ARAM or Factions. And these communities could use tools to moderate their chatrooms, more options for personalization, tools for cooler interactions. It's not here yet, but we know you want it ;)

: I have really poor map awareness when I'm fighting. I know it's important to pay attention to the map at all times, but sometimes I entirely forget about surroundings while in an intense battle.
Anyone can tunnel-vision, I do it sometimes as well ;) I salvage this by keeping an eye on where everyone is in down times, so that when the first starts I know where everyone was until then and can guess whether a mid or jungler had enough time to reach us.
Petsho (EUW)
: Also adding to Ozwins: It's not always easy to guess the movement speed differences. Speedy boots of mobility champs will have a much shorter time over a long distance than slow armor boot champs.
What I find to be more variable is the path someone takes. Eg I was red side, on our bot tower, and I see mid coming to gank so I start the fight, but mid went instead through the tribrush and was two seconds late.
Rich (EUW)
: If you're in the middle of a fight or waiting for a gank, you don't need to take your attention away from the current situation to know when backup is arriving?
Hm, I personally know where my teammates are during a fight, but I'm low Gold and my map awareness is generally good. Perhaps it's a skill that can be developed with training. Do others also have trouble with this?

: My secret for winning +60% in ranked
There's positive behavior, there's negative, and then there's neutral. This is an example of neutral behavior, which is perfectly fine and a large amount of players do it. It's OK to be neutral and never type, instead communicate with pings and an occasional gg. It certainly wins more games than being negative ;) Others will give tips to be positive, eg this [other post](http://boards.eune.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behaviour-en/5oRZpRj3-improving-your-behaviour-on-the-rift) from today. Being positive can help turn around a difficult game by improving morale, or have fun in a lost game, but not everyone can do it, and not all the time. But both positive and neutral behavior patterns are fine and encouraged :)
: Improving your Behaviour on the Rift...
Good tips. Glad to hear that they worked for you :) > I tried to compliment people more often if they did something well, no matter how big or small the impact. I especially agree with this one. A 'gj' costs nothing but can boost morale and lower stress.

: Free sightstone at lvl 9 but no free oracle?
I see the buff of the yellow trinket as an interesting option: at level 11, do you want an upgraded red trinket or an upgraded yellow trinket? And within the team, how many of each? In the past, most teams would start with 5 yellow then switch to 4 red-1 blue by midgame. Now, even LCS teams show some variety in their trinket choices. For example, if you're behind you might want a couple yellow wards to set up defenses, while if you're ahead you want more red trinkets to crush your opponents in a dark area of the map. I'm not in the design team but it seems to me that the goal is not to go back to Oracle days where you could maintain an opposing team in the dark all the time. We want teams to put some thought on where and when to use their ward-clearing abilities, and for teams that are behind to be able to still get *some* vision.
Ravnir (EUNE)
: On-my-way upgrade
Hm, interesting. How's that different with the current system and looking at the minimap to see where the specific champion is on the map? What problem would this solution solve?
: Name origins
Moonleaf is the name of my first D&D character. Somewhere around 1999, 2nd edition Ravenloft, Moon Elf Fighter/Mage. The name came from the reflection of the moon on the nightly dew of a tree leaf, that looked a lot like his pale skin. Somehow, he's still alive and kicking at level 12/12, even though everyone else from his party died, or worse. One gambled his life with Death and lost, his twin brother drowned his sorrow in vampire blood and became a vampire himself, one died and became a Lich, one saved a poor soul from one of Azalin's experiments but was trapped there himself, one was captured by dopplegangers in Paridon. Maybe I'll assume his role again if we play 5th edition.
ToSeFP (EUW)
: it was already done for the lcs, so i don't think it is that hard to implement - but as with all programming issues, i can be totally wrong and it just sounds easy ;)
Indeed Tournament Realm (where LCS and other Riot-hosted tournaments are run) has 2 seconds delay or something like that. The question is, can there be two different delay options in one server? Can it be added to the code, or would it need reworking the whole code from the beginning? Or, even worse, would it require two different servers to make it feasible!?! I don't know the answers to these questions, but I'll bring the idea up to the specific team.
: IDEAS for a better game :)
In UI design there's a term called 'information overload'. There's always tons of information that would be cool to add to the TAB menu (role selected, skin selected, wards placed, buffs, wolf/krug/gromp respawns to name a few). However, each single data point added makes the menu more noisy and each information point loses some of its significance. According to the above, there are some data points (eg gold value for dying) that have some value to be added but the value is fairly little and the cost of adding it in coherence and clarity is higher. It's simpler to leave that as a semi-hidden value that skilled players can keep track of by checking everyone's score and the announcer ;) Still, I'd say it would be really cool to have a WANTED LIST custom game mode, eg something like Ascension :)
Gerbie (EUW)
: Option to spectate without delay in custom games
Interesting. Not sure if it's technically possible (could be that Spectator runs in one speed in the whole server) but I see the merit of such an option for a specific group of players. I'll throw in the idea :)
: League of Legends 2-3 years ago vs now
Trinkets, pink wards visible, gold-producing support items, jungle items, buffs from smite depending on jungle creep, different towers (shield, lazors), 5 different dragon buffs... I'd say there's more things to learn now than 2-3 years ago.

: I'm not sure that's what OP is asking for, and I don't think I misread it :/
Yep, I suck, I completely misread this. I thought rotate their model, not rotate their choice. Interesting idea. Currently, your choice of ward skin can be an expression of your game style or your preference. With an additional option of random choice before every game, you can have variety and show off the different kinds you have. I'll pass this to the team ;)
