: Kill League of Legends client, the autoplaying Arcade video is still running no matter what you do (the one when you just finish login-ing in League of Legends client). It eats alone one full CPU core, which makes you lag very quickly in game. Affects all low-end computers and/or computers which are reliant on the CPU as a bottleneck for the game. PROOF in image attached. **See League of Legends client eating up 40% of CPU ALONE while you are playing a game.** Use Task Manager to kill League of Legends client (LolClient.exe) when you start playing. The issue is that... League client is killed with its downsides. You'll free up a lot of CPU resources required by the game by killing it. It's a very very special case because Riot is forcing the autoplay video. _When you know that it's Internet Explorer and Adobe Flash in League of Legends game client..._ P.S: I didn't find a way to delete or block the video without using computer-wide blocking (with ton of side-effects). If you really need the League client while playing, keep it minimized in game. It shouldn't eat more than 10% CPU that way, could be way much more depending on your CPU. In bonus the video adds about 50-100 MB to your used RAM, which is awful for low-end computers.

: Solution: there are two files to delete (perhaps there's only one needed, but I'm not going to test because one is a high-res and the other one is a low-res of the video) * Quit League of Legends game client * Go to the following folder: C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0.1.156\deploy\assets\htmlTemplates\animations * You should find 4 different files (arc.swf, arclo.swf, bp.swf, bplo.swf). If NOT, check again the folder path (the number version could be different though...) * Delete arc.swf and arclo.swf * Start League of Legends client * Login * If you did login and you see a black space placeholder instead of the video, you are not supposed to lag as much as previously If you are on a laptop it should make the fan run slower as the CPU won't heat for "doing nothing useful" for you. See the picture for the massive difference between League of Legends game client WITH video and WITHOUT video. 40% CPU usage diff, 180 MB RAM diff. As it's a League of Legends client fix, it seemed to also fix the issues my friends had on every low end computers who experienced permanent lag spikes or stuff disappearing/reappearing out of nowhere (and obviously it fixes the ultra loud fan so your computer does not throttle down) for this patch.
but if i do it once when the game starts it won't "eat" my cpu again in another game or i have to do it in every game???
