: Rift Rivals: NA vs. EU returns
Already sounds more exciting than last year. Good format change.
: W would be broken af. W -> Flash -> R (-> W return?) and shoopdawoop enemy ADC is suddenly standing next to 5 of your team.

That's the point. And that's also why there's a delay, so everyone has a chance to flash or jump out. Also she wouldn't be able to move or flash during the mentioned delay.

: This tournament needs better advertisment. There is not a single hint in the lol client for me (ger client language) that informs about the tournament.
Agree, altough I knew about it before it started. What bothers me is how hard it is to find current standings or schedule.

If they do it purchase by puirchase then yeah. But they still have to check what kind of rune it is for the rest of them so still no extra work. Besides even if it IS extra work. It's extra machine work, not human hours. So who the f*ck cares? :D

"Because some players want to spend RP to buy Champions...". Well that is a good thing then, right? Because all the money spent on RP ends up in Riot's wallet, while spent IP just vanishes, with no monetary gain for either the player nor Riot. So in what way does it threaten Riot's economy/networth? Aren't companies founded on the idea of slowly expanding their networth thru monetary transactions between the company and its customers? Aren't companies founded on the idea of slowly expanding their networth thru monetary transactions between the company and its customers? > > And why would someone who paid less gain more suddenly? How does that even hold up logically, let alone economically? --- 1st part: I literally explained that in the next sentence.. you have to read more carefully. --- 2nd part: Let's give you an example... Person A and Person B both made 100.000 IP Person A bought only the most meta runes for let's say 25.000 IP and spent the remaining 75.000 IP on champions. Person B bought only the champions he mained for let's say 25.000 IP and spent the remaining 75.000 IP on runes so he could experiment with different builds. Suddenly runes are gone. Person A receives let's say 7.500 IP back for his runes (since he bought mostly cheap runes and therefore has decent return value for them). Out of his original 100.000 IP he now has 82.500 IP worth of stuff + all runes for free. Person B receives let's say 15.000 IP back for his runes (since he bought all kinds of runes and the overall return value is a bit lower). Out of his original 100.000 IP he now has 40.000 IP worth of stuff + all runes for free. It's a net positive for both of them since you could say all runes for free is worth a lot. But Person A now has 42.500 IP advantage over Person B just because Rito said "F*** you rune buyers!"
: Weak excuses. Riot is a multi(m)(b)illion dollar company, they are easily able to refund 100% of anythign paid for with IP. IP are free points that you earn by playing. So how this can affect their economy/networth is beyond me.

: Both those who have been playing from before and after the extreme rune IP cost discount, should be fully refunded every point of IP spent on runes and runepages when Runes Reforged is launched on the live servers. Why? Because logically, in every sense, there is no good reason to make the refund any lower than the total amount of IP spent by anyone on runes and runepages. It is that simple. But here is what i find odd: why would Riot support tell you to go ask this question here while it's Riot Support's job to answer you?

Here are their answers (without signatures): 1. --- Hey there, The runes are priced the same because by merging the runes and masteries system into a new, free system, we're investing in a major upgrade to the game. We believe this is worth it for the future of League but it’s also costing us a lot of money. We want to recognize players’ investment into Runes and reward them fairly for it but we don't want to go overboard. If you have any further questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us again! --- 2. --- Hey there, Thank you for the suggestion! While we don't have a direct channel to the development team, they do spend quite a bit of time looking at the suggestions posted on the Boards. As such, I would recommend posting your idea there as they may pick it up. Who knows, you might be the reason for a new feature in League of Legends. You can find the Boards here: • http://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/off-topic-en Thank's again for taking the time to write to us. If there's anything else that I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. --- I feel like the only words that aren't generic prepared answers are "The runes are priced the same" from the first answer. Right after that they skip into explanation why the rewards aren't higher, but that's not what I asked at all. They are not answering my question which was about why aren't the rewards fairer in relation to their purchase costs. About the 100% refund: I think it would impact their economy too much for their liking.

I need like 100 more Essence for Pulsefire Caitlyn and I can't seem to get one more key fragment (even though I got Honor Level 5) Nope... you can buy keys with RP tho. Or you can buy the skin with RP ;-)
: I’ve played a ton of games at level 30 already. Will I start at a higher level in the new system?
You wouldn't get the rewards for starting at higher level. So it's good for you that you start at 30, because it's easier to lvl up and u can do the milestones super rewards. If you wanna get rewarded for playing so long, then I guess you can take the rune refunds as a little bit of compensation. But I agree that it's ridiculous to be playing thousands of hours, spending hundreds of dollars and still not having all game content.
: It is the taks of Player Support to **support** you. They don't exist to forward ideas to development team. Firstly, they would have to forward too many ideas to the development team, if they did and secondly, the boards automatically filter good and bad ideas by reactions from other players.

They don't exist to forward ideas to development team. Firstly, they would have to forward too many ideas to the development team, if they did and secondly, the boards automatically filter good and bad ideas by reactions from other players. That's just what they responded. I asked them a question, not a suggestion for development. I asked why are all types of runes refunded with the same value since this issue wasn't covered in any of their explanations or FAQs. I received 2 (generic/automatic looking) replies from them, neither of them answering my question and one of them contained the quote I mentioned. So far it seems that the real answer to my question is "It was an oversight" or "We're too lazy" and they just didn't want to say it.
: They might not have the logs that show if the rune was from before or after the big rune discount. Meaning they cant know what the player payed for them.

For devs: You just take what type of rune it is, compare it to a chart and done. For players: They just log in one day and it says "Here's 10192 Blue Essence for you runes" and done. I don't see the problem here.

: Yea that's what I mean, it does make those spells more useful, and able to contest with the current meta picks for each role, BUT versatility is different, versatility means you can use them in a wide variety of situations, like flash, you can dodge damage, inflict it, jump walls, escape, jump into teamfights, steal objectives...etc

It gives them only more versatility in terms of who would pick and use them, but not much versatility in terms of actually using them.
: While your changes don't really make them more versatile, they do make them contest with other spells, like exhaust which in my opinion is the best spell to have with flash, it just provides such great safety, and its late game usage is insanely good. I almost always pick it on champs with no mobility tbh.

I almost always pick it on champs with no mobility tbh. I think, from the changes I wrote, the only ones that are really worth mentioning are the Heal and Barrier changes. You think even they don't make their respective spells more versatile? At least it shouldn't be "ADC Flash Heal every game, and Barrier rarely ever seen" anymore. This way ADC could play with Barrier too, supports could start using Heal. Midlaners could consider Barrier over Exhaust. Anyway, I'm not saying I can come up with a solution to everything in 20 minutes in the middle of the friday night. I'm not paid for that. But somebody in Riot is.. and this somebody in Riot is clearly not doing his job right. I want this to change.

: Margin of Error in Champion Select Search Function
If it would work.. why not. Maybe a version, where it checks for errors only if the current filter isn't showing up any champs. That way it wouldn't slow the searching that much and would prevent accidental overcluttering.

: I mean semifinals my bad
Yep, I always liked H2K. I just knew G2 is garbage (give me more ties, G2, plis) and when H2K gets beaten by garbage.. what am I suppossed to think of them? Anyway, H2K was a pleasent surprise. Though I'd call it more like "All non-korean teams (outside of H2K and ANX) dropping the ball hard." TSM gets 0-2ed by RNG.. for whatever reason, but they would clearly be a better contender (than RNG) for the playoffs. Also, as much as I like H2K, they did get lucky both in group draw and in bracket draw (which is exactly what I said would need to happen). So.. Doesn't feel bad at all.
: Dear Rito is this joke?Last year 2 team's from EU went to semi final and you put NA in pool 1.You guys dont have respect and you are pushing region that has least chance to suprise KR, LPL or LMS.
Like Geramir said. It was decided at MSI. NA went to the finals and EU didn't make it out of the groups. Only regions that made it into the playoffs were awarded #1 seed.
Blacknet (EUW)
: What does that have to do with the teams? It changes nothing about the fact that EU teams are nothing compared to last year. I'm willing to take you up on that bet. I'd even bet that no EU team will make it out of the groups this year. EDIT: Unless they get very lucky in group draw.
Aliastcherki: EDIT: After considering the possible draws and matchups I'd give G2 roughly 45% to get out in second place and H2K about 25% for second place. Which I guess is not that bad as my initial.. "words of description". But like you said.. they're not going to semis.

Aliastcherki: Like I now mentioned in a seperate thread here, I don't base my opinion on some opinion or image of others. It's not a radio show. I watch the games and compare it myself. And believe me, I love EU, I'd love to be wrong. I just don't think this year is the EU year. We don't have the top pool slot for group draw so we must hope G2 doesn't end up in some group of death and that they at least finish second in their group. And H2K.. while they're actually my favorite EU team.. if they get out of groups, it's gonna be by pure luck in group draw.
Blacknet (EUW)
: There were? As far as I know NA teams were huge underdogs last year. And everyone was surprised that they dominated the first round of groups. Fnatic were hyped and expected to do well. EU was very good last year, but honestly this year.. unimpressive at best. Last year Fnatic would smash G2 3-0 no prob. Same as this year's TSM would probably smash G2 3-0 or 3-1 at least. CLG, C9, IMT not so sure about them, but they're definetely not worse than G2.
Martin Gunther: Maybe I watch the games and make the comparison myself instead of basing it on other's opinions? And yes, I have enough (game knowledge / experience) to know what I'm talking about. But hey.. better to expect nothing and be pleaseantly surprised than hype over nothing and get let down.
: I'm making the bet here and now that EU teams will perform better than NA teams. NA has an history of being very confident because when you look the games, every moove is "INCREDIBLY PLAYED" while in EU, moves are analysed by casters like Krepo and Deficio who actually notice the mistakes and explain why the team who lost should have done this or that in order not to lose.
What does that have to do with the teams? It changes nothing about the fact that EU teams are nothing compared to last year. I'm willing to take you up on that bet. I'd even bet that no EU team will make it out of the groups this year. EDIT: Unless they get very lucky in group draw.

: Can't believe G2-8 is actually allowed to represent EU after the MSI letdown. One thing's for sure. I won't cheer for them
EU is garbage this year. NA has 4 teams all better than any EU team. NA is our only hope in the west.

Latency is just the average delay and even then it might not be exactly accurate since when there are server problems the game might show 80 ms for example and then it feels like 500.
