: Comparable to the high EUW Ping or to the former EUW Ping? :D I guess it's either the lack of peering between your ISP and Riot in the EU or a Problem with Riots Routing after reaching riot's networks in the US or just both. But i'm not working for an ISP so my knowledge is more basic. Anyway it is unlikely that you can fix the issue by yourself and if your ISP doesn't cooperate well you have to hope for riot to react to this :/ May one of those Services that use a "Private Network" could possibly help if you are lucky but i'm not going to recommend or advertise them in any way :D
I used a private network service and 170 ping! 10 more than usual but I'm not complaining. I have a 14 day trial so hopefully the issues will be fixed by whoever is causing them before this trial expires. Thanks for the suggestion.

Compared to the high EUW ping. When it all works, everything works great. Let me try using a private network. Maybe it can be my temporary solution.

: As far as i know, those IPs starting with 10.31... should not appear on the internet at all because they are reserved A-Level Records for internal use. Since they do appear after routing to an Riot (peering?) host (104.160.141.101) in the US it could be a misconfiguration of this specific host in which case it is a problem that riot has to solve. Anyway i'm not sure if peering in the US is the best way to play on EUW from india, in this case your US Ping should be lower than your EUW ping.
Can confirm the US ping is somewhat comparable to EUW ping. Is this the issue? Oh yes and also there is 0% packet loss on NA compared to an average of 10% on EUW. Same connection and provider. http://imgur.com/a/uYgzV

: > all of my ISPs servers are going through. The first server which is showing the beginnings of the major issues is The IP i listed is the first instance of major issues, considering that server is local to you it shouldn't have ping that high, i barely reach 100ms when playing on the NA servers from the UK so you getting double that to a server in the same country as you IS a major issue, all hops after that are affected by that first hop so looking at a higher ping further down the line and blaming that isn't really valid, as one of the deciding factors on ping speeds is distance its only natural that ping speeds increase the closer you get to your destination, but give they ar eall compounded by that first major ISP hop there is nothing riot can do about it > As I said earlier, I just want some help letting me know from where this issue is so I can look in the right direction for help. Right now I feel like I'm blind without a stick. Then you need to look at your ISP and ask them why traffic through that hop is so negatively affected, out of interest is this a 24/7 issue or is it only during peak hours?
The high ping to my ISPs exchange is a cause for concern, that's very true. Thanks for pointing it out. It's starting to look more and more like an ISP issue. Sorry if it looks like I am blaming Riot and their servers. It's honestly me being more frustrated at no response than anything. My bigger concern here is why does it appear like those Riot servers are having an issue? Other tracerts from friends and some people on the forums too are showing the 104 IP to show a problem. This also doesn't address why many different ISPs from many different regions are facing this issue. If it was an issue with Airtel then why aren't only Airtel folks having these issues? To answer your question, the issue is 24/7 and trying to ask my ISP is useless. Unfortunately, in this country I cannot find support greater than "Are you having frequent disconnections to your router?" They have no real way for me to report much larger scale issues.
Cypherous (EUW)
: With regards to your own post, the hop causing you issues is owned by Bharti Airtel Limited with the IP 182.79.255.102, not owned by riot and there is nothing riot can do about it so why would they reply? I've looked through the threads you listed and replied to one, none of these indicate a riot related issue so again they wouldn't respond, i appreciate that most people using the internet don't actually understand how it works and will just blame the "server" instead of what is actually causing their issue, which sadly isn't the case
Hi, thanks for responding. 182.79.255.102 is indeed owned by my ISP. Not going to deny it! However, if you look at my traceroute, all of my ISPs servers are going through. The first server which is showing the beginnings of the major issues is https://ipinfo.io/AS6507/104.160.128.0/20-104.160.141.0/25 That IP doesn't appear to come from India. In fact, it's not an Indian IP at all! Then, we face a few IPs starting with 10.31. With a little research, one can see these are European. Not sure if these are ISP routing servers or Riot's. The least Riot can do is say whether it is our ISPs or Riot's server. I am starting to doubt it's an ISP specific issue because so many ISPs from various countries are having this issue. Here's the lookup for the 10.31 IPs: http://imgur.com/nO9IXqy As I said earlier, I just want some help letting me know from where this issue is so I can look in the right direction for help. Right now I feel like I'm blind without a stick.
: I am playing in Turkey and i have those packet loss and high ping too. What should i expect? It's getting disturbing playing at 70-80 ms and then going 150-250-450 sometimes 15K and disconnecting.
Yeah, there are always people who tell people who live outside of Europe to find a server near them. Valid argument but still does not address why packet loss and ping is so high right now. So far, people from lots of places east of Europe are facing issues and we're not even sure why.
Suijin (EUNE)
: emm, you're playing from India.. What do you expect? perfect ping and no latency at all? There isn't any help you can get in this matter (other than having a new server, or playing on a server close to your country). In simple human terms, ping is connecting(sending data) from your location to the server and back, the longer the distance the bigger the ping. Don't expect miracles unless you're involving black magic or google fiber
I understand my ping will be higher than somebody in Europe. There is no problem there. My normal ping is 160 but I am getting ping at 400-600 at the moment. Even if my ping won't be 50, if my ping right now is 3-4 times higher than my normal ping to EUW, it tells me there's an issue.

Hi, has your latency always been 350 in Johannesburg or has it recently become this high?

: Unfortunately yes :l I know it sounds bad but it did indeed took 3 weeks or so before my ping returned to normal at that time.Btw, I changed my ISP yesterday and my ping has returned to normal ^_^ 120-140 ping now but I am still getting ping spikes for few seconds in between due to packet loss.As I said earlier , we can only wait till things return to normal once again :(
Oh gosh. I sent a stern email to Airtel today and they said they'll reply in 2 days so let's see how that goes. 3rd day and ticking. I've also sent a ticket to Riot and got the infamous automated reply. Hopefully I'll reach a human soon.
NeoNovaz (EUW)
: Hey BYTEZZ, I'm From India too (Noida). I usually get about 100~150 ping on LOL on EUW. Now since patch 5.24 I get about 300~330 and more recently about 400+ I'm using Airtel Fibrenet Broadband . Currently I use normal Airtel 3G to play a bit a a workaround I'm very sure It's either an ISP problem on Airtel's end or Riot changed their server routing during patch 5.24. I have had this issue before in the start of the year when riot was building their data center. It cleared up in the net patch So thats the best bet as of now
Airtel 3G works? Let me give it a shot and see how it goes. And 100-150 ping on fiber? That's pretty awesome. Unfortunately, I can't afford it haha.
KwnPvP (EUW)
: oh btw now that I think about it, when u first started this thread I didn't have the problem, don't you think that's weird? its like hmmm.. spreading?
It's possible it's a faulty gateway or network path into Europe. This is just me guessing since I don't know much about networking.
KwnPvP (EUW)
: oh no need to thank me man! can you check my post and report that racist idiot? he made a "supposed to be joke" about islam and it sounded offensive to me, ty!
Sure, that is racism for sure. I do support the idea of a South Asian/Middle Eastern server so that ping could be reduced. Oh well, I just hope Riot can fix the EUW issues.
: So sad D: anyways, add me ingame, we might play sometime together :D dont really have any irl friend playing lol. Had a game as Vayne with 400 ping and still won :P Even got an A+.
Sure thing, will do after this fiasco is over. I am a Vayne main too haha!
: I wonder if Rito gonna make South Asian or middle eastern servers. Would love to transfer to there
That has English as the primary language? I would transfer in a heartbeat until my term in India is over.
: Don't bother with Airtel, they won't do anything . BTW, my situation has actually improved. It was 450 today afternoon but dropped to 350 till today evening. Hope it gets fixed soon
I'm getting 321 on a ping to Riot servers. Still some heavy packet loss. I do believe the situation is becoming better but it needs to get back to normal quick.
: It HAS to be a fault in the servers tbh The fact that we all have airtel has to be just coincidental since they are the only decent providers here xD
Airtel offered the best speed and reliability here so I bought their services. I'm honestly decently happy with the service and I've never lost internet services for more than an hour at a time. The more this issue unravels, the more I am convinced the issue is from Riot's end.
: That's the EXACT same time when me and my friends got this issue and we had the same symptoms No login and when we do intense lag and high pings
Yup. There was another person from Saudi Arabia who commented here. This tells me it's not an Airtel specific issue and this issue is extending a lot further than one country. Honestly, Riot should be getting on top of this but no response from them yet. I sent a support ticket this evening with two tracerts, network analysis logs and my network config so hopefully a response directly from Riot Support will be more useful.
: Ikr I called them and they are like the problem must be from your end we'll make a person check your 'connections' Genius
That's as far as things go here haha. Their customer support is nice although a little hard to understand (Not a Hindi speaker, I am from the USA) at times it's just they don't offer the sophisticated tech support we want.
KwnPvP (EUW)
: my friend and I are from Saudi Arabia, our internet providers are STC"saudi telecom company" and we both have the same issue! riot please fix this ASAP
Thanks for the post. Your post means the problem is a lot bigger than India. Riot should be getting on top of this.

: Yo guys! From India aswell :P my problem started 3 day ago I.e after when the servers went down after 5,24. My ping almost doubled and was unable to even login. My ISP is Airtel too. When did your problems start? I can login now but it takes hell lotta time
Hey, good to see more people commenting! I had my problems starting Sunday afternoon and they still haven't fixed. In fact, it looks like the situation has become worse. I did a tracert to both EUW servers for player support and in both of them the last 13 hops timed out showing severe packet loss. I tried contacting Airtel but they seem like they are useless since I can't find a way to elevate customer issues to the highest technical level where there are people who have the skills and capabilities to fix this issue. No Airtel, I DO NOT want somebody to show up at my house - it's a problem with you! I just can't seem to explain it to them.

: High ping and packet loss to the Riot Games server
Can we have any information from Riot or are we just going to be left in the dark? I am able to connect just fine to European CS GO servers and European Blizzard servers. Why can't I connect to the Riot servers? Even if it's the fault of our ISPs, can't Riot just let us know something so that we could have a clear idea about what steps to take to fix the issue?

: High ping and packet loss to the Riot Games server
I am going to send a request to Airtel and hope for a chance to speak to a technical team because over the phone there is no chance of this happening. Going to file a complaint through this site after my dad gets around to sending the numbers. http://www.airtel.in/forme/home/needhelp

: Wow I didn't imagine there would be so many fellow indians playing on euw! :D Nice to meet you guys , I am from Navi Mumbai :p Okay so, me and my friends are suffering from the same problem :l Getting 300-400 ping and game is literally unplayable since last 3-4 days.We all use different ISP's as well.Hence, like Coxis said this is most likely data routing issue between India and europe.Bad news is that I had same problem 2-3 months ago and it took almost 3 weeks for it to get resolved. As sad as it sounds , there is very little we can do about this.I doubt our ISP's will even understand our problem , let alone solve it.When I tried telling mine , I got classic "turn off and turn on your router" answer xD I have sent ticket to riot , lets hope they answer it fast and their answer helps us in getting rid of this issue. We can only wait right now .. and pray this issue gets solved quickly :s Good luck and have fun! :D
Coxis (EUNE)
: Well, can't the call center redirect you to tech support? I mean, call them and ask to speak with someone who deals with the network or write them e-mails to tech support directly. If they're a serius ISP, they should answer your calls. ^^
All you can really request is for somebody to show up at your home and fix minor issues like DCs or not being able to connect. Let's see if they fix it soon or I will have to see if there is a way for me to elevate requests.
: The routing part did occur to me but the problem is most ISPs here have call centers where they would not get one word of what we say and ultimately put us off their problem list So any idea of how we should go about this?
Was going to point this out to Coxis too. Nobody will listen to us here.
gabusaur (EUW)
: Hey there, even I'm a player from India and yeah my ISP is not Airtel and yet I'm having the same issues, so I doubt it's just about Airtel
A person said it could be an issue with the individual routing from India to Europe by different ISPs that could be the issue. Let's see if contacting Airtel or any other ISP could help with the issue.
Coxis (EUNE)
: Hey guys, The best course of action would be if you would all contact your ISP [on this case Airtel] and report the problem all together. The more, the better. They should be able to contact the backbone providers in other countries on your route and hopefully solve the problem. :)
Hi Coxis, thanks for the reply. As more members of the EUW Indian community open up about their cases of the same issue, it is becoming clear Airtel is not the only issue here and that other ISPs are having issues. Does this mean that it still is the fault of routing from India to Europe (Due to ISPs) or is it some issue with Riot's infrastructure?
: welp, I have sent a support ticket to riot with the necessary logs. I'll just wait for them to answer.
Seems wise. I just wanted to create a thread because I thought it would be reassuring to people that other people are having issues and also because occasionally, Riot gets to know about issues faster on the forums than with a support ticket.
: Hi, I'm from india too and a lot of my friends here are facing the same issue. the lag and ping makes the game unplayable. Thank you for speaking on the behalf of us fellow Indians :)
Hey no problem! I'm both glad and sad to see that other people are having the problem. I'm glad because a large majority of players from India are having this problem which means a solution should be found quickly but sad because at the same time all of us are suffering because of this (Especially because it's a Sunday night and I wanted to get a few games in).
: Airtel it is But one of my friend has a local ISP and is effected too
This just makes this problem look very odd.
: yep, they are.
Very odd. This means the ISP might not be the problem for once lol.
: Both are them from Delhi. (but i'm playing from there atm and still have the problem) and some people from bombay i know have the same issue
I live in Delhi though. Can you confirm if they are on Airtel?
: Im on Airtel too! and one of my friends who is unaffected does NOT have Airtel.
In my traceroute it looks like Airtel's Indian servers aren't the issue here. Maybe different ISPs in India have separate routes to Europe?
: hey! I'm from India and I'm having the same issue (and so are a majority of my friends, but 1 or 2 are unaffected) So you're not the only one having issues!
Where in India do your two friends who aren't having problems live in? I'm super glad it's not me though. Hopefully the problem can be identified and fixed as soon as possible.
: Same here Indian from EUW and literally takes at least 4 tries for response Ping averages are the same Other friends of mine too are facing the same issue.
Glad to know it's not me! What's your ISP? I am on Airtel.

How do you know this? To my knowledge, there wasn't a single offcial statement by Riot, so if you have one, please Link.

There are tons of threads on this forum and reddit about this. Essentially, Riot has diagnosed the problem to be an issue with some ISPs. Riot cannot directly control this but are actively trying to push the ISPs into mending the issue.

: You you don't get my point.. When i said awful i really meant it. Ii was really bad playing Kass on mid and watching how my AA attack the minion but i receive the gold after 2 seconds, or how my character was drunk dancing while i was trying to move from place to place, or how i clicked to Q a minion, the minion dies and my Q just goes to the nether, after which i receive the gold. I think the problem is caused by some packet loss at Riot's server, because it is not the same when we had the golden season 3 times with 1k+ ping.
That's not necessarily an effect of high ping but is more an effect of packet loss. Packet loss has been confirmed now by Rioters to be caused by individual ISPs in Europe.

That all depends on what they're adding/patching. Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification on Riot's position and have a good day.

We don't maintain, nor do we plan to, a list of all third party programs and their features. A few reasons I can think of off hand: - Features can be added and removed with a simple update. What's fine today may not be tomorrow, and vice versa - We have no control over third party programs You should read through [this post](http://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/announcements-en/bm6LA7EG-reminder-third-party-applications) to get an understanding of what breaks the rules and what doesn't. Another example is lolwiz - right now it's entirely fine, as it's only an overlay and it does not interact with the game. If that were to change in the future, it may violate the policy linked above. All third party programs are "use at your own risk" - as we simply have no control over them I'm afraid!
Hi, you've said a potential reason is a malicious feature can be added with a simple update. Does this mean a utility like Championify (Makes itemsets from Champion.gg) can become a bannable program as well because updates are frequent with each patch?

: Brief update: We are seeing some network congestion within various ISPs during the evening hours in Europe. **We are reaching out to these ISPs to work with them on optimizing LoL traffic where possible.** Most of this is outside of Riot's direct control, but we can influence and encourage them to make changes and optimizations within their networks. From our investigations, Riot's network infrastructure is solid and is showing no signs of device configurations issues, interface errors, or ping/traceroute impacts...many Rioter eyes have been involved. Secondly, we have a small army of testers looking into any in-game hitching or anomalous behavior. At this point, **we are seeing no evidence of client or server issues.** We believe the above-mentioned network congestion is manifesting within the game as some hitching. Even so, the testers are continuing with their efforts across many computer builds and configurations to hunt out any code issues.
That's very good to know! Glad to know Riot infrastructure is working. I live in India so my packets go through a lot of land mass before reaching your servers in Amsterdam. I'm having this awful lag during the evening as well. Does this mean my packets are going through ISPs in Europe who are having this issue? I've posted my tracert in another thread if you guys want to check it out.
