: Hi Golmoris, I read your post and thought I would share some insight into the world of recruitment which is what I do as a career. Publishing an advertisement for a vacancy commonly attracts hundreds of applications. First and foremost, it is good practice to always accompany a polished CV with a well-written Cover Letter that is tailored specifically to the role and Company you are applying for and to - it is incredibly easy for those of us who deal with thousands of these every month to distinguish a generic letter from a personalised one. Take this opportunity to stand out from the crowd, as many do not. Secondly, keep it short and sweet. The most valuable resource to a recruitment professional is time. Your CV and Cover Letter should contain important information that provides a clear and concise insight to you as a person through your "mission statement", your employment history/experience, any credentials (academic or otherwise) and your availability (such as any notice periods you may be subject to with a current employer, for example). Short listing candidates is based on a criteria of suitability. This is commonly broken down between "essential" and "desired" requirements, and candidates will be prioritised respectively in that order. If successful in being short listed, that is generally when an individual would be invited to the next stage - sometimes these are formal interviews, other times they may be a quick informal conversation over the phone to obtain further information about you. Thirdly, be prepared and understand the Company you are applying to work for. Taking on new employees is potentially very costly for an employer; so ensure that you can demonstrate you have done your research, you fully understand the role you are applying for and the Company you wish to work at. If a Company is going to invest resources into training an individual to work for them, they will be wanting to avoid the "churn rate" (those who may accept a job, but for any reason leave that role in the near future). To sum up what you have just mentioned however:- if an individual had expressed interest to work at a Company of which I was responsible for the recruitment process and in the absence of both a CV and a well-written Cover Letter, then you've provided me with nothing other than a short note of your interest to determine your suitability for that role. Will I have the time to proactively chase one potential candidate without a copy of their CV? Most probably never. That generally only happens when an individual has been head-hunted, and that is usually reserved for senior-level positions (Director, Head of X, etc). Always start with your CV and Cover Letter! Good luck! :)
Oh man, this gave me more clarity. I will start a little thing linked with Riot games, to show off my passion and my skills. I was thinking about this project for a while and I think this could get me moving forward towards my goal! It will take some time, but since this post (I hope) will not be deleted Riot might notice my interest. U gave me clear points that i haven't cleared out but knew some of the aspects about the employment basics. Thank you, that really motivated me even more.
: Did your application include a CV and a proper cover letter? PS: Just for clarity...people often confuse the green Emissary rank with some kind of position at Riot Games. That is not true. I do not work for Riot Games. I can only help you with my personal experience with Riot and my experience in the gaming industry in general.
Ofcourse I sent out my CV and life cover letter + motivational letter. {{sticker:sg-zephyr}}

: Try applying to a small independent game developer first. There are many of these in the UK. That will get your foot in the door and get you some experience. Good luck with your job searching.
As s1 mentioned, competition is ridiculous even with the "start up" companies.

: The UK doesn't just do potatoes... We can grow many other things - I once grew cress on my windowsill Just saying, there's many more things to grow than potatoes :D
Ehh, sorry :D just wanted to be clear that I don't want to be hated abroad for "stealing" jobs. Majority in the UK thinks that (one of the reasons for brexit) and the fact is that a lot of people from my country are going there just to do that, taking them fresh potatoes outta the fresh soil x)

: If you are serious go here https://www.riotgames.com/en/work-with-us/welcome but dont think they need photoshop, ae or any adobe proffesionalist. Learn html, php or some C, C++ languages.
Yeah that's where I started :D and there is no open job place in europe for the facilities personel. Thanks for the help and positivity :)
: So let sum it up. You have no higher education, no experience in game industry, no skill in coding....you know nothing. You would be great member of balance team! ANd ruin this game more and more. CG *go to Uni, choose nsome decent specialisation and get diploma. Give fck about RIto. These guys are not "company made by gamers for gamers" anymore. They became a greed corporate who seek the way how to milk more money from their cash cow.
I never said that I want to participate in any kind of game developing work, I'm looking for the environment, contacts, friends :') And i mentioned that my work can be oriented towards facilities of Riot games, keeping the environment of the office cozy and in general a nice place to be in. To keep them good vibeeees.
