: On Riven? or what since I was playing as Riven
Riven and Jayce are the ones I'm usually picking. On riven you don't really need it since by delaying your Qs you can usually kite out as soon as he ults, but stormraiders can be used. If you are not confident on riven, I'd suggest picking it up or just practising with a buddy until the trynd matchup is one of your favourites. At 6 if you are even you can basically all in him, deal 95% of his hp in one go and back off with 85%-65% of your hp. He has to play passive, and all it cost you was your ult.
DeejayF (EUW)
: Can someone please explain me how Tryndamere is not in any way OP?
He is heavily slow reliant. I've found major success in picking champions with stormraider surge and just forcing him to ult every time he has it, leaving him with 100 hp while I run away like the flash. Also, pick aftershock and CC him while your team attacks him and watch him run like a bit*h
Shamose (EUW)
: Guess who is getting a Prestige skin next patch.
Some math to the ult changes: __To make things a bit easier for me I'll just use 100 bonus AD for the level 1 R and 350 for the level 3 R. Potential Damage is what she will do at the 75% HP Threshold. Armor neglected since I am lazy.__ ---- > 100(+60% bAD) Damage = 160 Potential Damage = 480 > 175(+90% bAD) Damage = 265 Potential Damage = 530 ---- > 200 (+60% bAD) Damage = 410 Potential Damage = 1230 > 325 (+90% bAD) Damage = 640 Potential Damage = 1280 ____ Let us assume we'll ult targets at exactly 50%: The multiplier would be: > OLD: 2,66* for each % of HP missing; 133,33*% @50% HP > NEW: 1,33* for each % of HP missing; 66,66*% @ 50% HP --- Damage of the current Ult @ 50% HP with 100 bonus AD (one point in R): Damage = 160* 2,33 // ~373 Damage of the new Ult @ 50% HP with 100 bonus AD (one point in R): Damage = 265*1,66 // ~440 Damage of the current Ult at 50% HP with 350 bonus AD (three points in R): Damage = 410*2,33 // ~955 Damage of the new Ult at 50% HP with 350 bonus AD (three points in R): Damage = 640*1,66 // ~1062 ____ TLDR: The difference between the new and current R gets smaller the closer we get to the threshold - to maximise damage-output you want to get as close to the threshold as you can. _____ Sidenote: Armor will further close the gap (100 Armor = 50% damage reduction; 50% of 1062 = ~531; 50% of 955 = ~478; difference = ~53)
: Why does my league client, look like it's made by epic games?
Certain design decisions are somewhat streamlined. If you want your client to look "good" you'll follow certain "rules" - any client that has the same/similar proportions will have some similarities to other clients with those proportions.
: Looking at smurf to learn more about the game ? That's what I did before playing ranked (until 2017 I think). I learned less than I did in the same time by looking at pro-matches and tutorial, but I still learned from it. But now, it doesn't help me anymore, probably because I use the in-game time being frustrated about everything when I play ranked instead of actively learning... I'll try to do it again. Learning I mean. Thanks for writing it, maybe it will help me. Well, about carrying, I have one thing to say. Everyone want to be useful and want to matter for the result of the game. My best friend is a Janna main, and what he don't like ? Being useless or being a weight for the team. That's what mean carrying for us, weight in the balance to favor our team. If that's the definition of carrying, then I believe everyone want to do it, playing a competitive game without that desire seems strange to me. If the definition is (and I believe it's what you mean by "want to be the carry") being THAT GUY who win most of his game alone... Well I agree the amount of people playing a team game (and with mmr system) while hoping to be that guy is baffling.
It depends on how good the smurf is. For example: Me playing on a g2 when my main is p3. I'm not the one to 1v9 and I'll usually rely on my team to a certain extend - that being said, I don't think I am someone that people in that elo (g2-p3) can learn a lot from, so there is usually no point in them watching me. Another example would be a good friend of mine who hit d2 a couple weeks ago and is currently dragging an alt account to d4 while only playing off-meta. People can learn a lot from him and if given the chance I'll play with him once in a while just to see what he does differently. > Well, about carrying, I have one thing to say. Well I agree the amount of people playing a team game (and with mmr system) while hoping to be that guy is baffling. What I mean is that people are not willing to sacrifice their own resources to put the fed guy into a carrying position, hoping that they'll make a glorious comeback, carrying the whole game while they, currently, are 0/3 with a 40 cs deficit. Mages not focusing on just clearing waves when the Jax top is fed af (being able to 1v3 while taking 2 down) or the midlaner getting angry if the 10/0 jungler takes his cs to reach his power spikes faster. It's somehow baffling how people have forgotten what their position in the team is and I honestly do think this is one of the reasons why we see the one-sided stomp more frequently. Everybody is trying to go 10/0. One of them is reaching 3/0 and so do 2 enemies. Now we are in a position where 2 segments of the map are in a major advantage, pressing down towers at any given moment while the only fed guy of the opposing team is pressured to either extend his lead or help out his team in trying to get even. --- I might be delusional on the last point I made.
: I believe it does. But that doesn't change the fact the other player will usually feel useless because what's supposed to rank you for a 5v5 game will rank you for a 1v1 or 2v2 + support game. The game is no longer about what can you do against your opponent with your team at each point of the game. It's about "how to support my smurf until he win for me". That's not what players seek when they start a game, and so, there's far less fun and far less to learn from (unless they're "play only for win" people that don't care about being boosted). By the way, a low-silver can climb to gold just by mastering this "support a random smurf", showing how much smurf tend to appear in silver game, I did it in pre-season 2018 and my level did increased to gold level only 8 month later (played most of the season 2018 around silver 3).
> other player will usually feel useless because what's supposed to rank you for a 5v5 game will rank you for a 1v1 or 2v2 + support game Yes, and this is actually the reason why I don't smurf in lower elos. I'm somehow still baffled by how everyone wants to be the carry tho. I think that playing with smurfs isn't actually that bad for your further progress on the ladder since it might give you some clues on what you need to do if you are looking to advance in terms of ranking and most of the games actually don't have a smurf involved, so you still get to work on your own game without someone higher getting in your way.
Cienight (EUW)
: Don't you people enjoy having smurfs in the enemy team nearly every single game? *irony*
I've been smurfing on a lower elo (silver 1, currently gold 2) and even though I'm performing most of the time I've been sitting on a negative winrate for a long time. Just to confirm what's going on I've decided to add the best player of the enemy team after games for 15 games. Out of 15 people, 11 of them did accept. 10 admitted to be smurfing and 9 were around the elo of my main account. One being somewhere around d2. The system matches smurfs against other smurfs quite often.

You do you, boo. On a more serious note: Gank wherever, whenever and whoever you wanna gank. While you are at it, you might as well join me and camp lanes that are toxic in all chat.
: My dominant arm is a lot stronger than my other arm, how can I balance this out?
Pick a weight that your weaker arm can lift and use the same weight for the other hand. If you are using barbells, you might want to not do so until your problem is fixed.

: Possible nerfs for zhonya
I do think that zhonyas deserves some nerfs, but going for the defensive stats is the wrong call in my opinion. The problem (from what I can tell) is the synergy mage itemization has with itself. We are getting to the point where mages become secondary bruisers by building {{item:3152}} and {{item:3157}} and just going full ap right after with the likes of {{item:3089}} and {{item:3135}}. The first 2 items make them really hard to kill, while not sacrificing a lot of damage and the next two items give them the damage they need to still pop the backline in a matter of seconds. I'd rather see a cost increase (and maybe cdr loss) for both the {{item:3152}} and {{item:3157}} and a small buff to {{item:3211}}.
: 1/2/3 gold per second (after removing that thing with the hitting) + 5/7/9% increased XP gain. Sounds good?
We'd need some stats on how it influences games, but overall I'd now actually take it seriously if we are talking about potential implementation into the game. Numbers might be scuffed a bit (depending on spawntiming/respawntiming) but it might have it's place in league. Not sure about the XP increase, but as said - there is no possibility of knowing how it would influence games without stats.

Getting into melee range with no build in mobility is not that easy. Also, righteous glory activates as soon as someone is close to him. If you are the closest person to a cho then you are already doing something wrong bud.

In game I also use my abilities often to get CS that I normally would miss. I'm managing to not run out of mana in normal games while farming, I only use abilities when I really need to use them.

You most likely don't need to learn how to farm with spells. It's a helpful tool that you can use when needed, but it's not the hard part of csing and shouldn't escalate to being ur "go-to-tool". The things I have said in the comments are the practices I use whenever I feel like I am losing the edge when it comes to farming or whenever I get asked how someone can improve farming. You should ofc try out your own stuff and see if it helps.
: 1. They can at least contest the dragon 2. All of the dragons are useful, if you have a bad pushing team, Fire and Mountain will help, whereas if you are good, they will improve it further 3. The Gold dragon is already good but the values could be buffed, but it must be a thing that can be countered, like if they deal damage to you will serve as a penalty.
> All of the dragons are useful, if you have a bad pushing team, Fire and Mountain will help, whereas if you are good, they will improve it further You usually don't want to play off your weak side. I don't think that countering passive gold gain is a really big issue. I would adjust the numbers slightly but leave the "counter mechanic" out since the gold gain from it should be ensured as soon as you take the drake.

: Alright, then I'll try practicing it on a daily basis! How many days do you think is needed to see some form of improvement? I just recently started playing mid (I'm a support main so I never really needed to CS), and can only get around 5 CS/min in an average live game, in better games even 6-7 CS/min. My biggest issue however is that once midgame starts and teams just start ARAM-ing and all farming the same lane, I get significantly less CS, I know that if I got to a sidelane, the team is going to get engaged on and they'll blame me, and I also don't like stealing jungle camps, because I don't want to put our jungler behind. Also, I'm trying it with the runes and abilities I would do in a normal game. I'm not putting on runes that help me CS, I take spells even if they're useless for farming, and I don't ult waves randomly just to increase my CS number. I prefer having the stats I would have in a normal game.
I saw progress after 7 days. Most people I coached needed about 5-14 days to feel progress in their ability farm efficiently. There is no easy solution to this. If you hit higher elo brackets, you'll see midlaners sitting on sidelanes quite frequently since it's the best option you have if you are looking to scale a bit. The whole araming part is a bit of a problem you'll face in lower elo brackets and there is no real helping it if you are not willing to let your teammates fend for themselves. If you are looking to escape iron/bronze/silver/gold then I'd rather suggest playing a snowball-style and just farming as well as you can in the laning phase and roaming around right after it ends. : How many control wards to buy as a midlaner?
Whenever needed: You can have 1 pink on the map at any given moment. If your pink gets destroyed you can just grab one on your next back and place it somewhere again. Getting 2 is also an option if an objective can be taken. If you get a pick and start baron the second control ward can just be placed on top of it to deny vision.
Silent Note (EUNE)
: Why am I getting worse at CS-ing by practicing it?
Don't repeate it over and over again. I had the same issue when I got into practicing csing. Just do it once a day and dont stress over the results - you don't have to hit 10cs/min and rather should focus on getting the really hard ones that you usually wouldn't get. Edit: Also, put yourself into harder positions - try doing it without items/helping runes/abilities and also without stopping to AA. the last one will make you miss a couple of minions, but will help you in the long run since by never stopping to AA you'll often find yourself in harder situations where you'll need to decide on which minions you can AA without losing cs/getting them to die simultaneously.
: Here, I updated it a bit. - **Golden Dragon:** (NEW) Grants generation of 1/2/3 gold every second when no damage is received by an enemy champion within the last 10 seconds and 30/40/50 additional gold on structure destruction or champion kill.
I'll reply to both of your comments here (no point discussing in 2 convs): Throw away the "no damage received in the last 10 seconds" and you might have something usable, even though I'm not sure how it would impact the meta as a whole. --- The Drake menu is (IMO) still a terrible idea though. "Whoever kills the drake gets to decide the next one" might sound like a good idea, but allowing a jungler to dictate what's being served might turn out really problematic if we are looking to balance drakes themselves. If one team can't use whatever the other jungler chose as the next drake, there is effectively a 10 minute (4:59 spawn timer for the chosen drake + 5:00 until the next drake will spawn) timespan in which they can't profit off of botside objectives (turrets excluded).
: i want to see your reaction when someone ban the champion that you want to play
"Oh, alright - not playing x this game by the looks of it" I wasn't even bothered when I used to one-trick riven and people banned her.
: i think you shouldn't be able to ban him
Why not? The enemy laner will have the chance to pick maokai before my toplaner will have the chance to do so. Also, why tf should I care? I can look up tier-lists and decide to ban a certain champion every game. If the person is not high up in the pick order I'll just ban what I want.
: Champion select
Let us say that maokai got a huge buff and is sitting on a 60% winrate - my toplaner (who is last pick) wants to pick him. Do you think in this case I shouldn't be able to ban him?
: I said values can be changed. In that case, I suggest 2/3/4 gold per second. Would that sound better? What about the Baron one though?
I don't like the gold drake suggestion overall tbh. You do the drake at any given moment, however, until it pays off minutes will have past and there is no immediate pay off for it. Also, we could make it 10 gold, right? 10 gold/10 secs in 15 minutes would be 900 gold. You can buy 2 longswords for that which might sound fine in the first second, but why would you take it if at 25 minute mark the fire drake could pay off more. In all this I am not considering that the gold drake would get useless as soon as 4-5 item spike is hit and elder is up. ---- While I'd love to see a change to baron, removing the minionbuff without changes to minion behaviour might make waveclear the best option to pick in every game. Unless the enemy team could dive you under your turret it would ensure that no towers will fall, since the likes of {{champion:101}} {{champion:61}} {{champion:112}} can clear waves incredibly fast and safe while providing good damge for fights etc. So even splitpushing against them could turn out fatal since they'd clear waves until they see someone splitting and engage a teamfight.

You actually raise a valid point about voice comms. I can agree that this is an advantage but not a huge advantage by any means. You all have the same visibility on the mini map and access to chat. When I am on voice comms, I spend most of the time talking about garbage unrelated to the game tbh. So u can also argue its a disadvantage as it can be distracting.
I wouldn't call vc a disadvantage in any way. Even though you got the same visibility on the minimap, there are still some things that are way easier with vc. For example pointing out a rengar ult - your team won't see it since it only shows on the closest target. Another example would be the enemy pathing. Your jungler will usually get way more intel on what the enemy jungler is up to and having that information is necessary if you are looking to maximise your chances of winning.
: I made the dragons specific to different champions on purpose. The jungler should be able to choose the next dragon too.
So.. how is the jungler supposed to choose the next drake? We usually have 2 junglers in the game and it'd be a weird change if you could choose the buff you get after slaying the drake since it'd favour earlygame jungler way too much, just because the enemy wouldn't be able to contest them easily. Also, let us say I am playing with a heavy earlygame team - the gold drake would be a huge waste and anything but the mountain drake would be absolute nonsense to take. The ocean drake would only be relevant in a losing position, in which you most likely won't be able to contest it anyways. Overall, I'd say most teamcomps would only be able to choose between mountain and fire, since moutain is brutal due to giving the extra damage to minions (better push but also better waveclear in case you happen to fall behind) and fire just being the option for heavy splitpush teams. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see changes to drakes/baron, but I overall don't think your changes would have a positive impact on choices/balancing. I appreciate you putting the time in to come up with possible changes though. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}}

: I agree that match making is broken. What I dont agree with is premades versus randoms. A player should be able to adapt to other team mates play styles. If your good, premade vs. random should make no difference as long as there are no inters and/or trolls. But thats a separate issue.
Wait.. this is actually not true. Voice-comms make a big difference. I've scrimmed a lot in the past 4 years and the team that doesn't have any kind of vc has a major disadvantage. However, I do think that league has some kind of MM balancing regarding premade teams.

With all the wave-clear a team can pick in champ select it's a necessity to finish some games. --- I don't like the changes to drake you suggest for a couple reasons: - Boosting stats is fine for me, but giving a cleave (which could make tiamat rushes obsolete for certain champions) seems a bit too strong. - Giving bonus damage against minions would make the farming easier and I don't think that's a good idea. - (The gold drake would grant 200 gold in ~17 minutes of out-of-combat time) No matter how much gold it would give, it could slow down the game for the winning side and would just take away the spot for a truly important drake. - The ocean drake favours certain champions way too much while having close to no impact for others (soraka hp5 = 11 at level 18, gnar hp5 = ~34 at level 18) ----
: what is this thing about rito and icons?
I don't think new icons are a negative point. I mean, you can get some free icons and if you don't care about getting them you can just ignore them. No negative side-effect.

: well , people promote the fact that coke, and juices are kindly toxic ,gives you cancer ,and makes your tummy shit in years etc.., is likely a drug who hurths you not now , but certainly will kill you in time , and is selled as legal , not ilegal , and most of kids on this planet drinks it .. , and you tell me drugs is a problem for kids? ,when those are illegal and hard to reach =)) . Let's be honest here is a joke , is like i would joke about coffe adictive .. ,put around that joint then coffe and you can say what ever you want ... , i was feeling like i should joke about and makes others day better.. You ain't forced to stay in front your pc and watch the toxic behaviour around that game, you can leave your pc , go take some time to chill , take a coffe and come back and excuse yourself ... , with a lie , but a lie telled in a way is at least avoiding you to get angry and involved in them problems..
I'm not here to discuss if some substances should be legal and other shouldn't - what I am saying is that promoting the use of the illegal once might not be a good idea when younger people are present in boards discussions. I can enjoy a good coffee without legal consequences.
RayleighTT (EUNE)
: well if you stay to think the addiction of people to harm and be negative in games is almost same illegal , and what i do here , is just to combat an adiction of others with another adiction =)) , is just a pamphlet ,no one would even afford to smoke weed every day because of toxic behaviour hitting them almost constantly... ,and no one would actually be like that ... . Young people anyway will not having any ideea how to buy it , or to reach it .. , and anyway you are overexagerate on this.
Don't get me wrong, I don't care what you/others do. However, I don't think this is the place to suggest the use of an illegal substance as an alternative way to not deal with the negatives of playing league. > Young people anyway will not having any ideea how to buy it , or to reach it .. , Not gonna comment on this one, but proving you wrong on this one isn't that hard.

: How to avoid punishments
Buddy, I don't think endorsing the consumption of an illegal substance (In most places) on a public forum is a good idea - considering there are younger people running around, it most certainly is a really bad idea.

: Where are all the "You're a riot employee"-people now?
I think it's just a cheap way to not deal with arguments and opinions which are not to the liking of the person typing it out. Usually, if you take part in a discussion for a (somewhat) long period of time, you'll get frustrated if people are stacked against you and you might not want to deal with their arguments, but you also don't want to be on the loosing side of the argument - so you just discredit any point others bring up. Btw. huge respect to anybody who can admit to being wrong in a discussion for the reason listed above.
: Help, I suck
First things first: Yes, you are not supposed to be good if you just started playing. If you are looking to get good faster I'd recommend playing with better people. I dragged along 4 people who started playing this game and 2 of them always played with me and other high silver to high gold friends, even though they got annihilated for a good portion of the time they spent reaching level 30. They hit gold in their first season of playing. The other 2 barely managed to hit silver 4 in their first season with around 300-400 games. Also, stick with as few champions as possible until you get a grasp of the mechanics of the game and a feel for what you are supposed to do.

Boards is a place for discussion, sharing good moments, pointing out badly designed stuff, etc. Provocation is nothing more than discrediting all points without any counter-arguments. Even though I don't mind friendly banter, I can totally understand why you'd want to keep it away from boards.

: Snoflake moderation team ? salty = insult ?
I think it's the wrong tag - most likely should have been flagged as "provocation"

: draven should be nerfed
I honestly don't think that draven is a balancing issue. His early is solid, midgame is solid and lategame is actually quite bad (imo). Wait for him to auto and start throwing cc towards the landing position of his axes. If your team is a little bit coordinated you'll catch him or deny his axes which turns him into a really bad adc.
: Smurfs in disguise
There are a ton of smurfs running around. Only noticed this after I played on my smurf for a while. While I personally don't struggle with playing against them, I could imagine people who truly sit in lower elos might. __*Can you prevent it?*__ No. Modern Age technology allows you to disguise/change the Ip which will be seen, so Ip-locks are not effective. *__Does riot handle these cases well?__* Kinda. They got a system in place that detects smurfs and matches them against other smurfs. Your Idea with the Ip based creation of accounts won't solve a thing. Most people get a new Ip every 2 weeks or are able to use VPNs.
: Addiction
I mean... we could be addicted to some hardcore-drug, but we drew the lucky straw. {{sticker:sg-lulu}} On a more serious note: Anybody who feels the strong urge to play a game, should probably take a break from that game or limit the time spent gradually until it reaches the point where it doesn't influence social relations, work/school or any other kind of priority activity.
: Bans in league of legends
Instead of just telling people that they are wrong, you might as well tell them what they are wrong about. Is your suggestion to remove bans? To only hand them out for griefing? To only hand them out for threatening?
: I made it to Master!
Congrats on reaching it, my dude. Good Luck climbing to challenger {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}}
