: Obviously, as you already concluded, it is not bad to know every role to a certain extend. But I personally would think twice about the idea of beind a jack of all trades, especially in lower elos. Being specialized is the common thing to do in life. Everyone who learns a job is specialized in it, everyone who studies at universities is and so on. The same does apply to league, every pro player has his role that he trains relentlessly and it's a lot easier to be successfull with it. You want to be good at something, that should be your goal, not mediocre. I'm saying this, because there is no real reason to be good at every role given the fact, that you can simply select the role you want to play nowadays. It's not your obligation to be able to fill anymore. So rather focus on being good at 2 roles than bad at 5. Again, it makes a lot of sense to have a good understanding of the other roles. Testing them is not a bad thing, since the are a fundamental part of the whole game. Instead of making the mistake of prioritising to switch roles, which a lot of players seem to do, focus on your basics. An understanding of how to manage your skills/ressources, your lane, how to CS consistently in pressure situations or how to trade in general will help you a lot more than switching around the lanes you play, because this is champion and lane/role independet knowledge that can be applied everywhere. That is, why high elo/pro players will always have good CS if you just let them last hit for example. If you have strong basics, then transitioning into another role will automatically be **a lot **easier.
The real reason I was thinking this was not in order to become proficient in every role, but more to gain a basic understanding of each one. So for situations when you are trying to think ahead to what your teammates might do, you can look at their lane, items, opponents etc. and make more informed decisions on what *you* should do

: You are simply not good enaugh to climb in Gold. It's your limit.
I just played a game where my top laner joined, ran top, then told us to remake as they had to leave. Obviously you can only remake if they dont connect. But its this sort of thing I mean, not me being bad in Gold as I actually feel confident I play well for the most part.

: hmm i found that when i reached gold 5, it was the opposite for me, less flaming and afk... Honestly i would suggest you continue to improve, GENERALLY the higher elo you get to, the less toxic it gets... also keep in mind that reaching gold 5 isnt magical, you still get matched with silver 2/1s players, you dont cross a magical border, just keep on playing
That's what I thought would happen for me too. Obviously this isnt everyone, but it's noticeably incresed since I was promoted. If I keep playing through it I'm sure I'll improve from it, both for the sake of trying to carry and for ignoring flame. Thanks for the reply, at least I know it's just a few bad teammates for now.
