Same for us. Pretty tilting, but sort of expected :<

If you have such severe problems that you can't okay this game normally, you should not be playing. Just like a blind person cannot drive a car.
It sucks for that person, but everyone else is happier and safer for it

you've been told wrong

I am pretty sure support did not tell you they won't ban the account. They are not allowed to disclose such information. I suspect it was more in the lines of "We are not telling you whether we are going to ban him or not".

You can contact support. They are able to tell you what is holding you back.

Aside from what everyone else said: no, your placements are not %%%%ed by the single loss. In the long run, no single one game matters much - not even in your promo's. Ranked and climbing is about *consistency*. Be consistently better, and you will climb.
In that light, what support told you is extremely helpful. They can not remove the one game, but they CAN help you no having this problem consistently at all.
Just because it was not the answer you wanted, does not mean it's not the answer you need.

I will share one story with a sad ending. Slight spoiler is that though I will be posting this, he won't recieve a gift.
I met Tomaatketchup in a random game. From his name I obviously knew he was dutch, but in that particular game there was a dutch three man premade that he was not a part of, who at one point started flaming me in dutch. I am Dutch as well, but with a less obvious nickname, but when something like that happens, I usually pretend I do not know they are insulting me, and just quietly reporting them afterwards.
Tomaatketchup however, reached out. He did not flame back or try to "defend" me, but was just generally starting to have a nice conversation with me and joking around.
Can't remember if we won or lost that game - but that is irrelevant, as I knew had another addition to my friends list.
Fast forward a bit to when clubs got introduced, and me and some real life friends created Twenty Minute Gaming - and Tomaatketchup was one of the first "non real life friends" to join. He was always in for a fun game. My face would lit up when I saw his name being online, because I knew we would be in for a good time.
The club expanded a little bit, some real life friends quit League, but he remained part of the "inner core". He was the glue that kept us all together.
Despite several invitations, we never met in real life. We would use discord occasionally, but he was a pretty shy guy and always preferred not to use voice chat, and we respected that and never pressured him.
Fast forward again to July this year. I had some friends of Tomaatje on my own friends list, and they invited me to a game. One of them said he wanted to talk to me after the game concerning Tomaatketchup. I wasn't too worried, mostly just joking around that he should just get on with it and say it.
After the game though, I was glad he waited.
Tomaatketchup had killed himself the night before by jumping in front of a train. The night before that I had played with him, and I never picked up anything was wrong. Because his real life friends reached out to me in League, those of us living in the Netherlands were able to go to his funeral and say goodbye. At the coffin, I told him "gg wp" for the final time.
He was the best of us and we still miss him dearly. He always made us laugh. He was incapable of tilting. And at the end of this year, I wanted to write this story to remind me of him yet again, and of the example he set for all of us.
The world got a little darker in July, but his memory will remain a point of light.

So basically you think it's more important that someone else is miserable, than that you are happy?
Tough road to walk.
|
|||||
![]()
Okay, but WHY did the draven build 6 tears?
-> to piss you off, for whatever reason.
so what happens if you show him he is succesful in pissing you off?
-> you reward him for his behaviour.
Not only that, but the rest of your teammates now have to deal with an inting draven AND someone throwing a tantrum the likes of which no supermarket out of candy has ever seen.
Sure, flaming makes you feel better for a few seconds (and will probably tilt you more afterwards). But is that really worth it compared to the happy fuzzy feeling you gave a troll?

The recent MMR boosting ban wave says you're wrong.
|
|||||
![]()
Except it does affect my game - even if I mute you.
Flamers are too busy typing and watching others to focus on their own gameplay. They intice flame in others as well. They undermine teamwork. They reward trolls.
You are not "trying to win" if you are flaming. If you flame, you have already given up on the game and your only goal is to make others miserable.

If acting like a tantrum throwing four year old is your idea of strength and respect, the discussion is over pretty quickly, I suppose.
|
|||||
![]()
In that case, it's better not to say anything at all if all you can manage is "don't feed"
|
|||||
![]()
"don't feed" or "stop feeding" is annoying. It's not advice, it's not constructive, it's someone being captain obvious.
You act like most players go out of their way to feed unless you are there to tell them not to.
|
|||||

Same here

And you do not realize that you flipping out basically IS patting him on the back? You rewarded him. You gave him what he wanted.

Pings are designed to get someones attention. There's the sound and the visual effect. And while it's perfectly okay to use them once if needed, if you overdo it, it becomes very distracting.
They can also be used in a toxic way (such as spamming the questionmark on your fallen ally), but all the other ping spams are the League form of a child doing this in a supermarket:
"mom. Mom. MOM. I want candy. Mom. mom. MOM. mom. I want candy. Mom. Mom. Mooooooom. Look at me. I want candy. Mom. mom. moooooom"
tell me you'd not mute that annoying child if only you had the chance.

Oh, and by the way. You yelling at Veigar for failing to use his Q. That is not self defense. That is not standing up for yourself. That is you becoming a bully.
You have to decide for yourself if that is the kind of person you want to be. And it's not a decision you make for me, or the community or even your loved ones. It's one you make for you. You are the only one in the end who you will have to live with for the rest of your life, no matter who else may come into it.
|
|||||
![]()
I was bullied too. But the lesson I learnt eventually was that some people are simply not worth any of my energy - either good or bad.
And that I have so much more better things to spend that energy on.
so I mute, report, and move on. Anything more is feeding them what they want from me. And I do not have that to spare, nor do they deserve it.
|
|||||
![]()
There is a huge difference between "standing up for yourself" and "lowering yourself to their level".
One of those requires actual strength and maturity, the other just turns you into a tantrum throwing child.
Besides, do you really care about their opinion so badly you feel the need to defend yourself at all?
|
|||||
![]()
You didnt "defend yourself"
You lowered yourself to their level. There's a difference.
|
|||||
![]()
Cancer? Hardly. This is not a matter of life and death. No matter your level or rank, you will have to deal with bad players or players who just have an off day. If you cannot handle that, then no, you should not play this.
It's more like staying indoors if you cannot stand being in the rain - instead of demanding the clouds to stop raining.
|
|||||
![]()
I suggest just sticking with single player games. Multi-player is not suited for you. At all.
|
|||||
![]()
I don't think this game needs more tools to tilt someone, and that is all these emotes are good for. I would protest them even if they were free. Furthermore, I think they look a bit cheap and childish on top of all that.
I'd like the option to just mute all emotes permanently from both enemies and allies, but I guess from now on I just have to get used to pressing 4 extra buttons at the start of a game.
|
|||||

Oh hello there sunshiny thread necromancer.
I only played ranked this season to get to gold - after that I didnt touch it anymore unless a friend insisted (which is rarely). So do you mind taking your little rant somewhere else? You know, go yell at someone who actually IS a hardcore ranked player or whatever it is you have an issue with.
|
|||||

Bashing yes, I dont see threats though.
I agree that this was highly unprofessional - personal opinion or not.

"But mooooom, he started it!"

Coming from someone who is sensitive enough to get upset over a video game and does not have the maturity and/or self-control to keep himself from throwing a tantrum.

I was surprised and slightly confused too when people started using "lul" as alternative for "lol". The word lul is a not-so-friendly word for male reproductive organ in dutch. If it were a solely dutch game, I guess the word would be high on a word filter list.
But why would they take the "Original" word into consideration at all (not even mentioning that in english its an abbreviation instead of a whole word)? If 99.9% of the players agree that it means something else, it's the 0.1% who has to conform - not the other way around. Unfortunately you cannot claim words or meanings - language does not work that way.
