: There are plenty of tanks that can deal that much damage with no offensive items. Most of them have some kind of health-scaling. Think of {{champion:14}} {{champion:98}} {{champion:154}} {{champion:79}} They all have high base numbers and will murder your squishies if they land on top of them.
U must be trolling... none of the champions u mentioned deal that much damage... only 3 examples I can think of tanky champions that deal 1k damage with one spell are Garen, Darius and Cho.
: Karma is a very bad example... she isn't nearly as tanky as Tahm. I don't really understand what you try to achieve by listing CC champions. I thought OP is talking about tank + damage, not tank + CC.

: Its frustrating that someone who isnt building items to deal damage, can somehow deal more damage then the players building damage. I was in a game (it was aram) as Nautilus (I went full on tank, didnt even take boots, so i could be even tankier). The enemy team had a Darius we had the same HP as I did with two juggernaut items and dealt more damage than anyone else in my team. No one fed the others. This was a 50 minute aram game, 50 MINUTES! First time I experienced this and let me tell you, after the 30 minute mark, people were putting the ranked pants on. Darius team won, no surprise cause its Darius. Thing is, I dont find it healthy for a 4,8K+ tank Darius (or any other champion) to deal more damage than my carries and also having 500 more hp than Nautilus, who did not buy boots in other to get tanky as hell. __________ Its ok for tanks to deal damage, but there should be a limit, which is kinda not there because Riot only focus on Diamond, Master and Challenger level of gameplay. I know they focus the game on the best, that way they can actually test if something is OP or not.

If with easier, u mean fair yes! ...there are a ton of support out there that don't have the damage or CC that Tham has!!! ...and those that do have to pick a fairly offensive build to achieve that damage. So I could flip the argument around and say... basically you want Tham to stay just as it is with ton of HP, ton of damage and hard CC so that you can win easy... against... say an Alister, which is Tanky, has CC, but also has close to ZERO damage.

For me it is... it is about risk and reward... and he gets way too much reward for 0 risk! 90% of tanks need to balance carefully tanky items with items that provide some offensiveness so they are not just a blob of HP roaming the map. Tham doesn't, he can play uber safe by stacking nothing but health and still deal a ton of damage.

You say that... but may be I am trying to focus enemy carry... 1 v 1 I can dodge and do all sort of crap from Tham... not so easy to do the same while chasing someone in the middle of a TF. Basically you'd want me to focus my attention on Tham... but that's just play silly... I'd die of old age before I peel half of its life away.

M8 he is a support... why would it need 1k damage? I don't know another support that can get close to that damage without committing to an offensive build. My logic is simple. Squishy & high damage is OK, tanky & low damage is OK... Tanky as fuck & 1k damage it's BS.

So a tank with an ability that scales on Health... Dum, Durim Dum-Dum Took like 4 guys to kill him (he just stacked HP and some armor) and he can roam around dealing 1k damage. GG. I mean, there are OP champs that are just as bad (see Garen) but at least they aint frikking support! My bad for getting upset though... I know riot by now.

: Mana is a balance tool, it's there to regulate how much you can use your spells (mana hungry champions typically have the strongest spells because the mana deficiency is there stop you from abusing your strengths)... the way to work around this is to be conservative with your mana and rush a mana item asap which delays your power spike a bit (which is intentional). But a cheap pot seriously gets rid of all of this... buy a couple and you can instantly just spam your spells which makes the whole idea of mana gating obsolete. That's why they where removed, so mana can actually do its job effectively without a cheap work around messing it up.
The same can be said for HP no? A HP potions do little for mages and a lot for bruisers. All this does for me is help the latter, making the former not quite as viable (I need a different build now).

Cassio's ulti is not unavoidable... u just turn around... As for Galio is ulti is all but OP... very small range means you will never taunt all of enemy team (unless they r super dum) at that point you'll get CCed the second you ulti. And even if you were to taunt them all, there are a handful of champions' abilities/items that allow you to break taunt. I do get your post though... you got my thumb up!

HI, about this TTL (Time To Live) u dont need to be worried about! with the parameter "-t" u can send infinite amounts of ping to the given ip address (i prefer 8.8.8.8 myself coz it has an uptime of 99,98%). When u ping about 25 times and u receive one "Request timed out" thats bad.... I receive one "Request timed out" within 500 to 1000 pings. These timeouts are the reason why lags are happing coz at exactly this time the connection to the server was closed or not possible. So if u ping 25 times and u get no time out or some other error u should be fine but ... keep in mind: if u have a latency (time=xxx) above 150 u should not play rankeds coz with a latency of 150 its gonna be hard to lasthit or something else (150ms means that the transfer of data to the server needs 150ms to be done). I live in austria got 8mbit down and 2mbit up. my average ping time is 25 - 30ms (stable). An other problem could be due some ping lacks. For example u ping 50 times and got something like: 30ms 30ms 29ms 30ms 40ms ... everything is fine but 30ms 30ms 200ms 50ms 15ms 35ms 500ms 150ms 15ms ... is an indicator for a bad connection to the server (these can cause lags ingame coz of an unstable connection) hope that helps a little bit for the understanding - if not .. just ask =)
You are AWSOME! Thank you a lot for taking the time to explain. Mine seem kind of stable at 45ms... but there are almost regular spikes up to 180... so I figure I won't be playing from here. I live in the UK, but I am currently at my parents home in the Italian countryside, surrounded by fields of vines and wheat... so I guess I should consider myself lucky I have internet access to begin with. regards ;)

How is this different from now? There are a ton of items in shops which are seldom used at best... others you just never see. I am not saying that more items is gonna be better for sure... but it might help out those champs that struggle atm (i.e.: old, unused champs) who may perhaps benefit from items that are no not present in game

Bruisers like Vi have very little to envy tanks in terms of sustain (raw hp) while they completely outshine them in damage and mobility. Also... : here is how i do it . press window+R ( its in the right side of the right Ctrl key ) then type "ping 8.8.8.8 -t" or "ping 4.2.2.4 -t" (dont type " " ofc :D ) . now u can see your ping and timeouts . btw some ppl dont know what cus the lag . the high ping cus the delay in the game not lag ( the only time that ping cus the lag is when for exp it changes from 30 to 150 or something like that which is rare ) but it is the timeouts that cus the real lags . timeouts are the gaps that u can see in the picture between pings . higher internet speed does not mean u have lower ping it just mean u can download stuff faster ( my internet speed is 200 kb/s and i can play any online game just fine ) . i hope i could help . and sorry for bad english . in the end just let the ping window be open all the time when you want to play it will cus no harm and u can all the time check it when you are in game by pressing alt+tab keys to see why you have lags .

All of these I mentioned, rely only on CC and defense (HP, Ar & MR).

: Fun fact Pantheon was never meant to be a jungler moreover he was definitely not meant to be able to solo dragon at level 1. His whole kit is about fighting with other champions. If someone should be legitly able to take early dragon it's {{champion:19}} and {{champion:9}} due to their life steal.
Fun fact Pantheon is not really meant to be in the game since it excels at best for the first third of the game and he is very situational... not too long ago he was a troll pick - came back for a little as jungler... and now he seems to be gone again (at least, I never really see him and when I do he is played by some noob). It is a champ with a lot of potential, but it simply does not work mid to late game. Plus now he is obsolete as all he does, new released bruisers do better. I do not mean to say he is rubbish, nor cry in the hope riot will buff him... that said I do 'click' when people say he is OP. As for the Drake, OK for Pant NOT to solo him lvl 1 (that was ridic), yet making all Drake's damage AoE so to make Aegis useless does not strike me as a fair middle ground.

: You're right. Bruisers are the secret powercreep in LoL. As i see it, Riot has 2 options if they don't want to lose a part of their champion pool: 1. They scale down overall dmg, particularly the %HPdmg and Arpen as I mentioned before, thus making fights slower overall and bringing back tanks to viability. 2. Rework all full tanks into bruisers. More likely to happen sooner or later, sadly.

You say this is not a bruisers thread... but tanks were needed prior to bruisers... now they are just slow moving things incapable of providing for themselves - quite sad really. I think your argument is sound... but to esclude bruisers from it, means not addressing the elephant in the room. Without these tanky assissins (that's what they are) riot would have been forced to do some rebalancing... instead they can just sit back and sell us some more Vi, Rek etc. etc.. as tanks become a thing of the past.

I think Shen is an ok champ... problem is every new champ riot releases has more mobility and better gap closer than the one before. This means a lot of older champs become obsolete. As for his kit, I agree about CD on ulti... way too long. About the shield... I actually think is very useful, but only on an AP shen - which is not really a thing. So may be tweak an iteam or two in order to make it viable. After all riot always says that they do not want "pre-defined" builds (i.e.: everybody buys the same)... May be it is about time they make it viable for a handful of tanks to go AP and not suck.
