: yep. Rito is riggin the matchmaking and that's 100% proven.
Man, people will downvote you, but everybody actually knows it. Once you win a lot you get trash teammates to see if you can carry them, if you can and you continue winning, you get even worse teammates and so on, until you crack and start a losing streak. It's the same if you lose too much, you will get the very Faker as your teammate if needed to carry you so that you can win if you have lost too much. The system tries to enforce a 50% win/loss ratio, and it will do whatever it takes to get this ratio. If you are way too good for the elo you are playing at you can kind of break temporary this ratio. Apdo got a 100% W/L ratio .... vs goldies roooofl hahahahah.
: Is matchmaking okay?
I only play normals. Normal games are coin flips. Do not try too hard to win because all you will get is frustration. If you want to tryhard play ONLY rankeds. If you want to practice, then make a smurf account and play rankeds with this account to practice. NEVER EVER play normals to win or you will become insane. Specially at night (2 a.m. or so) normals matchmaking is a joke, diamonds playing with/vs low silver, drunk people, people that are high, tilted people.... you will find every possible kind of sheeeeet there.
Rismosch (EUW)
: What admitting? That you hate the game? Then don't play ffs. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean your bogus claims are true.
Rismosch (EUW)
: Damn. I guess those streamers who do this unranked to challenger climbs with high to near 100% winrate are just pure luck.
Then you dont watch a lot of streaming, because I have watched countless times those master/challenger streamers failing even vs diamond with their smurfs. There is only one report that I have seen with a 100% win rate, and it was apdo, probably the best soloQ player in the world, and vs goldies. Rofls, sure, variance impact when the best player in the world plays vs me is not a big issue for him. Nah, you know what I mean, and you dont want to admit it, no problem dude, that's fine. EDIT: And I'm not talking here about winning or losing, I dont care about that, but about how winning or losing rewards your brain in this game.
Rismosch (EUW)
: > There is no correlation between playing good and winning Damn, the challangers are at it again.
I'm talking about a single game, dude. There is no correlation at all, I've seen matches that not even faker would have won, because inting people, afkers, whatever. If you win, it doesnt mean that you have played good, if you play good, it doesnt mean that you will win. It breaks your brain and its rewarding system, that's what I mean. In the long run if you play good you will climb, sure, like in poker, if you play good you will make money, still, variance can make you play perfectly and lose every game. And variance can be very cruel.... believe me. EDIT: maybe you are right and "correlation" is not the word, because actually there is a correlation, the better you play, the fewer posibilities of variance breaking you game, but variance will always be there, no matter how good you are. Actually this kind of mess with the rewarding system is not what annoys me the most, I find way more annoying the fact that when I win I am punished with bad teammates, since the system thinks that 2+2 = 3+1 and we all know that in LoL that's not true. It tells my brain that when I win I am going to be punished for winning, that's against any single mechanism that allows to enjoy a game.
chauklow (EUW)

: Eh cant win 100%. I just go ahead and move on on games like these. KDA doesnt win u games btw objectives does. And yes you can win and carry with non carry champs, look up Only UdyrJungleBB on EUW. Hes playing Udyr which requires macro not micro. And please, stop blaming your team. Team game yes, but if ure good you will climb, just brush off your bad games and move on.
Who said you cant climb? have you read the post? I've not said at any moment that you cant climb.
chauklow (EUW)
: TLDR pls. "The truth is that, this game is not enjoyable. Why do yo play this game? do you enjoy it for real? have you ever wondered if you enjoy playing LoL actually?" Well i play it because of rank (im competitive person). But i will probably quit next season if they release new ranked system. I also play league because most of my friends play it. Its boring to play games solo for me, so i dont play other games as much. Wouldnt play it if my friends would play as much other games with me as they play league. I also play because i want to get better and i can make money out of it. I currently make money out of it but dont want to tell here how. I play soloQ solo, i only play flex and normals with friends. I also like winning, only in ranked tho because i gain LP lol. In normals i feel like you, i dont care if i win or lose. Thats why normals are as boring as minecraft for me.
Kalvix (EUW)
: Sadly it is kinda true in solo, while I still enjoy playing for now it does frustrate me no end when I end up on 14-3 and lose because the rest of my team was feeding while I wasn't there. If you play a carry champion you can make things a bit better for yourself as if you get to that point you can be the reason your team wins, some champions just can't do that though and supports it feels are even worse for it as you need to be REALLY good to make up for a carry your supporting who throws themselves in to die non stop.
It is not only the part of the variance what drives our brain crazy. For me it is even worse the fact that when I win I get worse teammates. The more I win, the worse my teammates, hence my brain tells me that winning is bad. And when I win i'm not happy, because I know I will be punished. Imho this is a BIG issue in this game and one of the main reasons why this game is unenjoyable.

: Its stupid to give the players rank on a team game looking just at their mecahnics. There are so many other things which I think you still didn't understand where the beauty of the Mobas is hidden. For example the teamplay, the game deciding calls, the positive or at least tilt-proof attitude, the right picks not just spamming one champion. Also I wanna apologise for the bad way in which I started my counter arguments. Things like "Let me guess you were unable to "grind" it right?" are not valid arguments. This doesn't mean I am agree with you. Obviously being constant is gonna help you so if you think constand=grimd I am kinda agree.
Whatever man, you arguments are just.... well... whatever.
Father Tios (EUNE)
: Because why else would anyone be unhappy with any part of a game, unless they failed to excel at that game, right? Hell, the very fact that a person is not ranked high, means their arguments are always completely invalid, because they MUST stem from them just not being good enough in the game. Let's compare this to real life: The only reason an employee would complain about something at work, is because they're bad at their job. Sounds reasonable.
Rofl! sure, man, who doesnt enjoy and love and endless grind! Sure, man, lets comapre LOL to real life, what could go wrong? /facepalm I dont grind because I dont like grinding. Easy as that, I dont grind champions, I dont grind ranking, I dont grind gold... I dont grind, period. I enjoy this game sometimes for the skill, but I'm not going to flip 1000000000000000 coins untill variance put me in the right spot. You like it? ok, that's fine, as I said I'm sure that there are a lot of people that love grindfests, just not me. And I put this post so that people new to the game know what this game is about, this is 100% grind. You can enjoy the game without grinding though, just dont get obsessed with your rank play normals for fun and that's all.
ChocoParis (EUNE)
: I don't care about WoW at all. Its just a normal system every Moba works like that with some changes but the main idea is the same. And to be honest it gives enough time for the new palyers to actually learn before getting b5 -500LP after that its pretty pointless to play ranked.
Just because every moba is a grindfest it doesnt mean that there are no other ways of ranking players in a pvp game. The grinding one, moba style, is the worst imho, since skill is not enough. I understand that Riot needs to make money, and you dont make money if people can go up to diamond in a week and then stop playing untill next season. But that grinding is annoying and unpleasant for me. That's all, I'm sure that there are people that enjoys it, not a big deal.

Rofl, no, you could get your 2200 rating in 2 days if you were really a 2200 player, 4 days at most. You cant do something like that in LOL, you are forced to grind and grind and grind and grind.

Nothing, I just wanted to make clear what this game is about. People say that this game is about skill and teamwork, and that's not right. This game is about grinding. Nothing bad though, if you like grindfests.
ChocoParis (EUNE)
: Let me guess you were unable to "grind" it right?
Mmmm, no. I'm not saying that you cant climb, I'm saying that you need to grind and that this grinding is what this game is about. It is not like wow arenas, where you could get your rank without grinding, only by skill, that doesnt happen here. Here you have to grind, and to grind a lot. A LOT.

I see jhin in every game. Well, not literally, but it is played so freaking often that it feels like if it was literally. Can I ban him? yes, but I prefer to ban other champions. I wish they nerf him to the ground, i'm so sick of playing against or with jhin.
: still, in almost every game where team is even slightly behind before 15min, there is at least a tilted player ready to give up cause he believes match is already over poor fellow, he is 0/2/0, better start over with a new game and hope for better luck, right? of course there are games that most likely are unwinnable, but to claim 95% of them you know it from minute 8.. that's just shows you give up too easily
The most common score I see at minute 10 usually is 10-4 or 4-10. This is a ruined game, whether you like ir or not.
: uhm i smell someone who will start to soft int and flame after a bad start sometimes you gotta put a little effort in order to win but it seems a lot of players want the easy game, if they start getting behind in cs/death they tilt, and the soft inting /blaming / flaming fiesta begins, eventually ruining the mood of the teammates and leading the losing team to his demise that would been avoidable if only the players had the guts to play on a bad start doesn't mean 100% certain defeat, especially at low elo
I smell someone that, when he reads something that doesnt like, he makes up a whole parallel reality to justify whatever crap he has in his head. Cool story bro, it lacks of aliens though. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}}

: When does RIOT ever does something about the massive amount of `smurfs`
I'm leveling a new account. First, in every match, and i mean in EVERY single one of them, almost all the players are smurf. Plus, everybody in the game knows that the others are smurfs too. We are mixed with lvl30 players too. So I dont see the smurfs impacting the leveling experience of newbies. Second, I find smurfs way more friendly than nonsmurfs players. They play in a better mood. The reason is simple, they dont care about winning/losing because it's not their main account. So the games are far more enjoyable. Third, probably what you found was not a smurf, but a guy that got a role that didnt want to play. Those guys will tell you whatever it takes to force you to dodge the game, so that the time penalty will be on your account and not on theirs. Plus, they know that you cannot report them, because there is no tool to do that. My advice, take your role, play, mute all, and lose. That's the only way those guys will stop doing that, by losing the games they want to dodge. Long story short, i find more enjoyable to play with smurfs than with normal people. By far. TO RIOT: please, give us a tool to report trolls and unsportmanlike conduct in champion select. It's really needed, seriously.

Well, you can study. You will forget the tilt, your mother will stop tilting you and maybe you will get a decent job in the future. Flaming is for the Rtarded. You need to be mentally handicapped to tilt your own teammates when you want to win. You can 1vs9 with "/mute all". That's what skilled people do. Mentally handicapped ones just falme, tilt his own teammates and always are like 2 or 3 divisions lower than they should be.

: Like the new Dragons, Riot is adding more _RNG_ elements into the game to **"make every match feel unique"**. They don't want the jungle to be the same every game. Junglers usually have one route that they are following. Every game. (Routes change depending on the Champion, of course.) **Riot doesn't want this kind of repetition in their game and therefore remove the "predictable" elements of the Jungle.**
I hope that nobody will want to make chess "feel different" every game, lets pray for it. I hope that nobody will want to make every football match "feel different" just by throwing a new ball at a random location at a random time. The full idea is just ******ed. You cannot pretend to be a "sport" and do sh*** like that. Lets be honest.

: oh ill play ranked for sure, and so far my plans are playing in flex even tho im mostly solo, but i dont see any problem with it and they said flex queue will have somewhat different (better) rewards than soloq
After playing a couple of games you quickly realize that, lets say gold players, with premade preference are worse players than those with the same rank and solo preference. The "extra" reward in flex queue will be like the word "minus" in your rank. I mean, "gold flex queue reward" = "gold minus"

: I am doing placements and all I face are gold 5 and high silver. I am getting destroyed every single game cuz I am not as skilled as they are. And then you also get flaming on top of it and I wonder why I am even playing ranked. Why not just start at low bronze and after x placement games (you win or how good you did) you get better ranked players. But dropping a fairly 'beginner' person into high silver games is just annoying
That's exactly what happened to me. I had to stop playing rankeds, I felt I was destroying other player's games. And actually I was. I got flamed all game long for "feeding", and actually it was just that I didnt know how to handle low gold/high silver players. A starter should NOT start at this elo. He wants to stomp bronzes with bronze teammates, and then stomp silvers with silver teammates. But actually you dont get better opponents with better teammates after a winning streak. : > So you are german and can speak portuguese, french, spanish and italian (appart from englinsh and german) No, I just learned the languages you mentioned in your previous post: German, English, French and Spanish.
And you still think that french and spanish are similar to german? They are not similar not even gramatically. If I construct a phrase in german the same way I would construct it in french your ears would bleed. Appart from the declinations, obviously. They are not similar at all. Though, french, portuguese, italian and spanish are pretty much the same language, with very very few variations. So funny to see how a italian guy can speak italian with a spanish guy who is speaking spanish, and they can communicate with very few problems.
: > German is NOT a romance language (derived from latin), you know? I know that, that's why I didn't say it. But Germany was part of the Roman Empire and many german words have latin roots...even if it's not enough to count as latinian language. > The complexity of english: do, did, done, does, have done, would do. That's all mostly. Not exactly, no. For example you forgot all future tenses. There are 17 english tenses. It's really ironic that you accuse me of not knowing what I am talking about (by claiming I said something I didn't say) while you consider 6 out 17 tenses "all". > I cannot even write here all the conjugations and tenses of this verb in french or spanish in here. 14 tenses in spanish, 18 in french, 17 in english. Like I said before: It's pretty similar in most languages because unless your culture doesn't have a proper concept of time you simply need that many tenses to express all possibilities. > I needed less than one line to do so in english.... ...incorrectly. > What I said, no fkng idea. Exactly.
using the same word for 45879586 tenses is not having such amount of tenses. Well, you actually have them, and that's what makes english so easy. A monkey can remember the same word for 9384658764 tenses and conjugations. : What is it then that makes climbing "much much much much slower"? Perhaps you could articulate it more clearly. I grant you that you can do with maths whatever you want, but why would Riot not want a system that has proved to be reliable and successful in other games and what is this hard evidence that makes you think that whenever they say that that is in fact the system they have implemented, they are just lying? I can only presume that there is none, it's just how it _seems_ to you after checking some other games and op.gg. But I guess I just don't see why your observations are all that improbable on a standard mmr/elo system. I have already questioned your analogy between League and other games and I think there is nothing mysterious about those win rates on op.gg. In fact I think what you have observed is predicted by the theory that LoL is based on the standard mmr system. Also, talking about "much much much much slower" climbing again, in my very last provisional game that I played there was a guy with whom I had a small talk before the game as he was 7/2 in his provisionals and I was 8/1. So we joked around a bit about it and then we ended up carrying the game. We both got placed in Gold 2. After I got back to the game a month later, I checked his profile again, and he was in Master. In less than 200 games (I think it was around 180) he climbed from Gold 2 to Master. And he's still there after 350 games, cause that's plausibly where he belongs. It took the system this little to identify a player that is better than 99,964% of the population. And I'm not even cherry-picking here, it's just some guy that I happened to get matched with. How is that slow? I think that's pretty good considering the fact that League is a 5v5 game.
I have no time to argue now, maybe later. Only say that a standar elo system is meant to single player, like chess, or WoW (where the elo was the team's elo, and not the player's). So this games's system is not the standar elo system, since it's tunned to work with multi-elo players. And imho they tunned it wrong. Wrong and toxic, btw.
: for every game, 1 team wins and 1 team loses. this means that if both teams are equally strong, there is a 50/50 chance for each of them to win. this also means that if they play 1000 games and the win-rate is 75/25 then the games are NOT ballanced. what you are saying is that you have a win-rate **above** 50% with ballanced games, and that by mathching you with stronger oponents they games become unfair, despite having a 50% win-rate. this is absurd. example: imagine there are 3 skill lvls skill lvl 3 skill lvl 2 skill lvl 1 -> you start here you play some games, and your win-rate goes above 50%. this means that the games are not balanced **in your favour**. in order to make the games balanced, the system atributes a higher skill lvl to you. let's say you rise to lvl 3. you play some more games, and you win-rate starts droping. this means that the games are now too dificult for you. the system compensates again by giving you lvl 2 this time. now your win-rate is 50% which means that the games are balanced.
You didnt understand what the OP said.
Desastrus (EUNE)
: _No, that's what what you think that the system does, and actually that's how it should do. _ That's what it should do and that's what it does. It really isn't that different from chess elo rating system, the main difference is that during the matchmaking in LoL it is applied to 2 teams of 5 people instead of just 2 players, and that in league the rating is hidden. _I've played another games based in Elo and MMR and I have NEVER seen such loosing-winning streaks, like I see in LoL. And usually those streaks dont depend on you. I mean, it works both ways, once you have finished a losing streak you find games that literally you cannot lose, whatever you do you'll be carried. And it's completely annoying, to the point that you dont want to play when you are in a huge winning streak, because you know what's going to happen._ Maybe in the games that you played an individual can have more impact on the outcome of the game than in League? You cannot just assume that all these games are analogous just because they are using similar matchmaking system, there has to be something more than that. I also doubt that you did a proper statistical analysis of what you have observed, it's just a piece of anecdotal evidence and should be taken with a grain of salt. _You want evidences? go to op.gg, look for any random player, look at his winning %. It will be 48-52%. Look for any other random player, you will find the same. Do it aaaaall night long, you will always find the same._ What is that meant prove? That the system doesn't allow people to climb or fall? I will demonstrate the absurd implications of that claim in a bit, but first I would like to try and give you an explanation on why most people have that win rate. First of all, it means that they probably got where they belong and thus are unable to climb or fall. If you play a significant number of games you will get there too, and the reason then why you are "stuck" is because your mmr has gotten really really close to your actual skill level. _When a high elo player is climbing, in a normal elo game he would win like 100% of his matches, in LoL that doesnt happen if you are playing solo. You can get more than 50%, sure, but you will be carrying HARD, because the system will be punishing you for winning. Playing with premades is a whole different thing._ Chess can be an elo game, that's where the system was being used originally. In that game, the high elo player would win literally 100% of the games in low or normal elo... Because he'd be the only member of his team and it would be logically impossible for somebody else to screw him over. League is not like that. You have 4 other people on your team. Of course if you are good and your team + the enemy team are average, you're most likely going to win, but there are many variables as to why that is not 100%, and that is normal. Put a Master player in Bronze - he will win ~95% of the games. Then he gets to Silver and wins a bit less. Even less so in Gold and so on and so forth. And that's exactly what we observe. Think of team chess. The more low elo members the high elo player has on his team in his low-elo games, the more likely he is to lose. League is essentially like team chess. _Who enjoy a game that punishes you for winning? you know what? that makes people ANGRY, hence this system is totally TOXIC. Roflmao at riot for punishing toxic players when a big amount of their toxicity is riot's system's fault. Riot is the most toxic thing in LoL, more even than the whole communty._ Here we are just getting to conspiracies. There is absolutely no reason to believe that that's how the system works. Elo/mmr is just simple maths, it's just that the ratings are hidden and so it allows the players to cook up various conspiracies to justify their own unpleasant experiences. Think of a high elo player on their smurf, lets say Silver 3 with Silver 3 mmr. They would literally be unable to climb, because the system would always drag them down. If the system was win rate oriented, sooner or later it would be forced to give them high elo enemies and low elo allies _repeatedly _to get them back to 50% win rate and in turn prevent them from climbing. And that's not what we observe. Most streamers have several Diamond accounts and they have no problems climbing on these accounts, it's just that they win gradually less as they get closer and closer to their actual elo. The system described in this topic is some sort of absurd anti-climb system. A system like that would permanently keep everyone at their starting elo if successful. It's pure conspiracy, on par with elo hell.
You dont understand, you can climb, and you will climb if you deserve it, but you will climb much much much much slower. And with tons of frustration and toxcity (riot's system's fault toxicity). Maths, of course it's maths, but you can do with maths whatever you want, even this that you call "conspiracy" and that I consider a fact.
Desastrus (EUNE)
: This is hopelessly confused. It is evident that you don't understand how the system works from this statement: "They make you play with worse teammates vs better enemies to lower ur winrate". No. The matchmaking system has absolutely nothing to do with your prior win rates. What the system does is it attempts to make a guess of what a 50/50 match would be like based on your current mmr. You can have a player with 30% win rate and 1500 mmr and a player with 100% win rate and 1500 mmr. Hypothetically speaking, they would both get matched with the same people if they were to queue up at the same time. All that matters is your mmr rating. Win rate is an effect, not a cause.
No, that's what what you think that the system does, and actually that's how it should do. But... I've played another games based in Elo and MMR and I have NEVER seen such loosing-winning streaks, like I see in LoL. And usually those streaks dont depend on you. I mean, it works both ways, once you have finished a losing streak you find games that literally you cannot lose, whatever you do you'll be carried. You want evidences? go to op.gg, look for any random player, look at his winning %. It will be 48-52%. Look for any other random player, you will find the same. Do it aaaaall night long, you will always find the same. When a high elo player is climbing, in a normal elo game he would win like 100% of his matches, in LoL that doesnt happen if you are playing solo. You can get more than 50%, sure, but you will be carrying HARD, because the system will be punishing you for winning. Playing with premades is a whole different thing. Who enjoy a game that punishes you for winning? you know what? that makes people ANGRY, hence this system is totally TOXIC. Roflmao at riot for punishing toxic players when a big amount of their toxicity is riot's system's fault. Riot is the most toxic thing in LoL, more even than the whole communty.
: > German is TOTALLY like french and spanish!! A bit, yes. I am from Germany and I learned all those languages, so yeah, they are definetely similar in many aspects. Most countries that were once part of the Roman Empire share some similarities in language, especially if you compare them to completely different languages like Mandarin or Finnish. Just TRY to learn such a language and you will notice the difference immediately. > And sure, a language like spanish (with infinite tenses and conjugations) is really easy to learn, not like english that is very difficult. The amount of tenses is pretty similar to english and most other languages and the conjugations are actually WAY easier than in english because there are way less irregular conjugations. Spanish has 4 type 1 irregular verbs, English has 114. In addition the english language is much harder to speak due to massive irregularities concerning phoneme-grapheme-correspondence. Graphemes are letters or combinations of letters, phonemes are how they sound/how they are pronounced. Spanish has roughly 30 graphemes for roughly 20 phonemes. English however has 40 phonemes....with over 1100 graphemes! How english words are pronounced is not all consistent. You have to KNOW how they are spoken, you can't just see ith from the letters. Want a very simple example? Here you go: "read" Now how is this word pronounced? Is it present tense or past tense? It's impossible to say because they are written exactly the same but spoken completely different. Or how about "ough"....there are around 10 different ways to speak those 4 letters, good luck figuring out which one is correct without already knowing it. This kind of grapheme-phoneme-chaos is the reason why english speaking countries have the highest amounts of legasthenics (roughly double as many as others). The only reason why english appears easier is because it's often the first foreign language you learn (and you learn it for much longer than your third language) and because there are many occasions to practice it (movies, books, the internet etc). But still, Spanish is way simpler. PS: Humoristic example of how fucking irregular english is: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oML9dYc3ivE/Trq3d2gGgMI/AAAAAAAABSQ/jw4wpF5Mbd4/s1600/pronunciation.jpg
You have no idea about what you're talking about. German is NOT a romance language (derived from latin), you know? The complexity of english: do, did, done, does, have done, would do. That's all mostly. I cannot even write here all the conjugations and tenses of this verb in french or spanish in here. I have not enough space to that. I needed less than one line to do so in english. What I said, no fkng idea.
: > I agree that english should be the only language due to it's simplicity making it easy to learn even for the slowest humanity has to offer. It's easy to learn for people who grew up with a similar language like german, spanish, french, italian etc.... and even for these countries spanish is probably still the easier language. Anyway, doesn't matter. You are completely right that in reality simply many people don't speak english, no matter how easy it is to learn.
Yeah, you know a lot about languages. German is TOTALLY like french and spanish!! And sure, a language like spanish (with infinite tenses and conjugations) is really easy to learn, not like english that is very difficult. {{sticker:zombie-brand-facepalm}}
