: time-out, freeze at champ select
Bump Or should I just make a new bug report every time it happens?

: Issue in champion selection (Ranked)
I've been reporting a similar bug for quite some time now, it only happens to me when I'm browsing certain sites during champ select. Did you have any Internet browsers open at the time of champ select?

: time-out, freeze at champ select
So how do we know if this is being looked into? Do the euw boards even get looked at? I guess I'll just bump this post every time the bug happens, which it did just now. I had a wiki page open this time.

Well it's been 10 days now and still no fragments

: Can't lock in pick/ban
This happened in the old client too and it's been going on for at least over a year. Your connection to the Riot servers timed out during champion select. That's what happened, even though you experience no other connection issues, like not being able to browse the Internet. The most common respons to this bug is that the problem is on your end. You won't get any compensation for it because this bug doesn't exist as far as they're concerned. My advice is don't alt-tab out of the league client, it seems to reduce the incidence of this bug occuring. Then again that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

: alpha client timer champ select stuck at 0
It's the time out bug: your connection to the LoL servers timed out and it dropped you. Some useful information about this bug: - No fix exists - It can only occur during champion select - If you've already locked in your champ, you're safe, just wait 2 minutes, restart the client and it'll drop you in the game - Rioters never comment on these type of posts - It will probably never be acknowledged as a bug, and people will assume the problem is on your end even though this problem only occurs in league of legend, only during champion select, with no other internet problems during the time out.
: I lost a division because of riots launcher
How do you restart a launcher without leaving the queue? Anyway, if it's the time out bug, you're out of luck, that thing has been around for at least a year without getting acknowledged by riot and probably won't get fixed. It also happens in both clients, so upgrading to the beta doesn't fix it.

: Champion select Bug
Did someone's timer go down to zero and stayed there, when they were supposed to pick or ban? That means your connection timed out. It's an old bug and as far as I can tell there is no fix for it, believe me, I've been looking for months. I don't even think riot acknowledges this bug exists.

: Worsening of old bug with new beta client
Update: So the bug happened again, but this time I got an error message with the option of shutting down the client or restarting it. So now there is absolutely no way to avoid a dodge penalty when this bug occurs, you can't even get lucky and hope you can reconnect in time. Like I said: in the old client, you instantly reconnected when you pressed ok on the error message, so please give that button back.
: THIS IS THE BEST ONE YET
The only thing I can think of is that your connection got timed out. You'll see someone having to pick or ban a champion, their counter goes down to zero and it stays on zero afterwards. If your turn to pick or ban comes up before your timed out connection is restored, the game will see that as you dodging the queue and give you a dodge penalty.

: Worsening of old bug with new beta client
No it's not my Internet. Like I said, chat in champ select and Internet work fine. No other online game has this problem, only league of legends and only during champ select in about 1 in 15 games I would say. And I have come across this bug on 4 different PC's (3 of which were gaming PC's) and 3 diferent Internet connections. On the old client I just needed to get lucky and either have the time out after I locked in my champion, or so much before that I could still reconnect befoer it was my turn to pick. But like I said, on this new client, you stay timed out.

: About random/democratic mode dodgers
Also there are the troll picks where you get paired with a 2 or 3 man premade team and they pick Bard or Tahm Kench. Now these aren't totally unviable options, especially tahm has great synergy in this mode, and I have done well with these champs when I put up with this pick. But you know the premades are just gonna magic journey throught the enemy jungle or spit you at turrets. For some reason "fun mode" for some people means "ruin other people's fun mode with trolling". Do people really believe they won't be reported in this mode? Also I have an 8.3% succes ratio on getting my champion picked. So if my champ doesn't get picked yet again and the champ that does get selected isn't any good I dodge.

: No. Getting matched with players in your league would slow good players down. The MMR system is probably the best to accurately tell how good a player actually is. A player with a 50% winrate gets matched with players in the same league(most of the times). A player with a lower winrate gets matched with players in a higher league than themselves A player with a higher winrate gets matched with players in a higher league than themselves Why? Players, who consistantly have a higher winrate are more likely to skip a division. This would be highly inaccurate if he'd get matched with players in the same league, since he's already way above their level. And the second, even more important reason: To keep it balanced. It's just fair to match players through their skill level, not just to determine how good he actually is, but because it would lower the game experience of players getting matched with that particular player.
But no other competition does it this way, ever. If a featherweight boxer is dominating his weight class, no matter how much of a skill difference there is between him and his peers, he'll never be forced to fight a heavy weight boxer for the feather weight belt. Same with any team sport: county division soccer teams, no matter how much they dominate, will never have to play against a national team for the county title. What I'm trying to say is: suppose you have a platinum level player, then should end up in the platinum league. Suppose this player has bad luck during his placement matches and ends up in bronze 5. If he has to play against a team of 5 bronze level players, even if he is teamed up with 4 bronze level players he should have an easier time winning then if he is matched with 4 plats against 5 plats. Playing against better players makes it harder to win, and thus harder to climb ranks and thus harder to get to a ranking that is fitting for his skill level. Why even bother to make the separation between bronze/silver/gold/etc... if you're going to get matched by skill level anyway? Then it would be much better to have a numerical value for your skill (your MMR if you will), and be ranked by that instead of having to go through a rigged competition. It would also stop people from being "stuck in bronze", because you're ranked by skill level (determined individually) instead of final results in gameplay (determined by [skill level sum of your team - skill level sum of enemy team])

: Punishment system: Recompensation for bad behavior
> [{quoted}](name=Hansiman,realm=EUNE,application-id=ln3nNJrX,discussion-id=14JW347U,comment-id=0001,timestamp=2015-10-08T13:15:35.281+0000) > > > The rest of the team can mute the player, and report them when the game is over. Nothing else is needed. > --- > > This is only going to be a punishment for some players. Specifically those players still farming IP to unlock content. > > What about those players that have every single champion unlocked already, and all the runes they need? Forcing them to pay in IP isn't going to be a punishment for them, because they don't need the IP anyway. > --- > Muting only works on verbal toxicity. And for me there is something more needed than just reporting. I need to know that these specific people I had to deal with are facing consequences. Like I said, I've had feeders admit in chat that they were trolling and their accounts are still active, they are still playing games. So from my personal experience, no, these players are not being dealt with swiftly at all, they're not being dealt with period (I don't need every reported player perma banned, but bans are all I can confirm). From my point of view the system doesn't work and I have no way of confirming if it does work. I doubt that for these players who already have everything, that they are really going to risk getting this account, which carries such an investment of time, banned. And even if it isn't a punishment to these players, it's still a compensation for the people they troll. And that's they main point of this system, compensation. With the current system, wether they get a 1 game chat restriction or get IP banned for life, it doesn't make a difference to the people who had to play in the games they've ruined. A toxic player has no responsibility to account for what they've done to the people they've wronged. They only have to carry out some minor punitive tasks to fall back into grace with Riot so they can go back and be more subtle about what they do. And the victims, they are left with nothing but lost LP, lost IP and worst of all a miserable experience. And sidetracking a bit here, that reform figure of 92% seems very skewed to me. I can accept that people lose their temper and flame; some people more easily than others. And if these players get a slap on the wrist they will behave better. But of my last 10 matches 3 of them had intentional feeders, twice on my team, once on the other team. 2 Of them admitted it in chat, the other one was pretending he was just bad at the game but from his playstyle and his over the top feigning of ignorance, it was very obvious. Of these 3 feeders, 2 went into the game with the sole intent of losing it for whatever team they were on, the other one lost his lane and then declared he was going to troll, so he fed and eventually afk'ed. Now, what "reform" is possible with the former kind of players? They aren't kids who are unaware that ruining a game to spite their team for whatever reason (losing lane, not getting their role, jungler failed a gank,...) is a bad thing and need some punishment to learn this fact. No, they are players who go into a game with the explicit purpose of ruining a game, fully aware of what they're doing, just for fun. You can't put these kind of people back on the right track since they never had any intention of being on the right track to begin with. And what exactly is a chat restriction going to do to players like this? Well that turned out to be longer than I had initially intended. Long story short: IP fines are more about compensation to victims than it is punishment to players. It also adds to the responsibility that toxic players should carry towards their victims.
: Idea new item for support!
Kind of like a reverse ohmwrecker? Since it would be something you only use in a defensive setting, it should be something with defensive stats. And to work as you intend, supports holding a tower against big minion waves, its active should be a buff to turrets that only affects minions, not champions. Or if it affects both the active should be on a very long cooldown. Also buffed turrets shouldn't be able to be buffed again for a couple of minutes to prevent a rotation of buffs. If the active is short range, teams can't go around buffing turrets across the map because either their lanes are pushing out, so there's no need to do so, or their lanes are pushing in, at which point you would need to send a team member away to go use the active and defend the turret, leaving another lane vulnerable to a 5v4 push. As for it maybe prolonging the game anyway, so what? There should be a strategy to help you come back when you're behind, either stalling until you catch up in levels or stalling for your late game comp to shine. Turteling shouldn't be made into a completely unviable strategy.
