: Well but in my opinion people in higher elo are more cooperative and thous less likely to missjudge people. There is no TRUE criteria. People will always missjudge or abuse their power. Thous the higher placed they are I do think they should have a deeper understanding and thous do as described in the first sentence.
I would really like to hear Riots opinion on that. For that i need to get you guys to comment so this gets Attention. I would also appreciate a Plus.
: >Well there is no way to say that people actually would not abuse this "Service". And thous there should be a criteria by which they are choosen. If "criteria" would safeguard people from abusing power granted to them, there would be no corrupt politicians.

: There is already an automated system in place for that. No "sheriffs" will be required, thankfully. >Well and i guess a number of Players would do it just for getting an Reward of which kind it may be. I believe there is a misunderstanding of the problem here. The motivation of sheriffs would not be the problem. The problem is, _quis custodiet ipsos custodes?_...who watches over the watchers? The more there are, the more problematic this becomes.
Well there is no way to say that people actually would not abuse this "Service". And thous there should be a criteria by which they are choosen. Like Elo. You can't simply implement this I do know that but I do like the idea.

: I just wonder how the "overwatched" players are chosen (the "offenders"). By reports? Well false reports are a thing, a MASSIVE one, too. > Also the People Reviewing should be rewarded for their effort to better the community. NO. rewards for this will always lead to people doing it for the reward, not for the betterment of the community.
Well but I dont think that they would do it for free. I mean you could reward small amounts of IP so that there is a reward but not one which is too big of a deal to just do it for the reward. And well there is always False/Missjudged Reports but that would be a point for adding these "Overwatchers" because then they can determine whether it is a rightfull Report or not.

: Problem is that in CS:GO overwatch only skips to the important parts of the game that focus on said "suspect" to see if he is cheating or not. In League of Legends that would be kind of hard to implement. What would you overwatch? I guess they could implement sort of a feature to let you watch a game and only show you the player a few moments before he dies in case he is intentionally feeding. But other than that the tribunal will show you the players chat and you can judge by that if he is flaming or spamming or whatever. I don't know. Would be cool but kinda pointless.
Well for BlueStr : Overwatch is a feature where Players watch other Players Replays and see if they (at least in CS:GO) Cheat or Grief. And @LiquidVoice I think that only watching when said "Suspect" dies would be pointless maybe just play the replay 2x Speed and Stop at Interesting Moments (dunno myself like i said its only an idea). And the Chat would be like this because i do think that Riot in too inconsequent.
: Sheriff systems have been proposed before, and rejected, for very simple reasons. 1. Probability of abuse - There will be people abusing this. Yes, you can then take the "overwatch" status away from them, but the damage is already done to someone. 2. Sheer number of "Sheriffs" required. How many people play CS:GO, how many people play LoL? You need hundreds of thousands of "watchers". And who watches them? In CS:GO, an automated system is sufficient, because of the comparatively low number of watchers. Here, you would need an entire system, including human ressources to watch them. 3. Process of chosing "Sheriffs" - In CS:GO they are chosen by factors such as skill level...well that's fine, because watchers in CS:GO watch REPLAYS of the actual games played...in LoL bans are primarily handed out for toxic behavior, playing badly is not bannable so spotting toxic behavior has nothing to do with player skill
I wasn't aiming for banning people for playing bad but rather for Griefing. And since watching the Game could be done with services like LoLReplay or such you could fast foward with 2x Speed or something alike. The Probablity of Abuse is always present. I can't say anything against that. Well and i guess a number of Players would do it just for getting an Reward of which kind it may be. But since it's just an idea maybe we can tweak it. To fit our personal likings. I'm not saying we should or should not implement something like this but it's worth discussing in my opinion.
