Exactly lvl 30, so old, dormant account that got hacked into or trowaway bought bot-leveled account?
sbepi (EUW)
: so better let a tilted player that lost his account vs a new player? so a toxic boy in a new game player lev 1, that's the dream to start a game x) riot should priorities new players
It's not good, but neither would "oh, if I'm toxic and permabanned, my next account is only 10 levels away from ranked, so I can be as toxic as I want" be and the lvl 20 players instead of lvl 1 players needing to hide from toxic smurfs... ;-( Just a no-win situation.
sbepi (EUW)
: we can't compare europe to south korea, so i think riot can't balance the "leveling account" in that way even if they ask a telephone number to create a new account a player can have infinite telephone number, so yeah, no wya to follow that model in almost all games there is the new player/expert player, but it isn't present in league of legends...idk why they are not doing something like that but actually on reddit i got flamed just because i didn't play only vs bot till level 30, and when i said i wanted to have at least fun when i have to level up an account tehy didn't care x) so idk, to me new player experience is dramatic right now and riot should do something to defend tehir gaming experience in league
Well, since going all "big brother"-y isn't wanted and rewarding banned players that make new smurf accounts isn't wanted, the current system of there being "smurf detection" that after a few games should put the smurfs into their own seperate matchmaking queue probably falls into a category of "least bad with no real good options available". ;-(
: there are 2 types of shard the champ chard and a permanent champ shard, when you get all champs if you reroll 3 champs you get a permanent shard, if you dont have the shampion it automatic is consumed and unblock champ if you already have champ you get a permanent champ shard on loot.
? Champ rerolling was scrapped I think back when the changeover to just BE and upgrading champ shards was done.
sbepi (EUW)
: leveling a new account
Not sure if it's still a thing, but I thought new accounts once were asked how familiar they are with MOBA games, from MOBA newbie to MOBA expert, which was probably used to pre-tweak matchmaking a bit. Of course, just like the idea in this topic, that relies on people being turthful and not newbies overestimating themselves, choosing "expert" and smurfs of banned players wanting to newbie-stomp and picking "newbie". ;-( ("hey, you just got banned, so have a free lvl 20 account might also lessen the impact of bans". And for streamers apparently it's "buy/pay for a new lvl 30 account. If it was a botted lvl 30 only play it until it falls victim to the next wave of bot account bans, if it was leveled by a human, keep playing it as long as you don't mention that account sharing.) The only way to really solve it would be draconic measures like in South Korea where it's a LoL account linked to social security number, so the only way to get more than one is if Riot allowed you to link multiple and banned means out of the game instead of making smurf accounts over and over again. (Though that would be a pretty terrible idea IMHO)
JustTits (EUNE)
: Okay well, it's still the same. The client shouldn't take THIS much time I guess.
op.gg and u.gg also say you're still level 6. Are you sure you didn't level another account to lvl 7+ (other name or other server) ?

: TFT
Assuming the mission system isn't backlogged, a game gets processed for missions once 7 out of 8 player hit zero health (at top right of the TFT missions lists it will list the number of games that still need to be processed). I'm not 100% sure if missions check for the highest point in the game or the situation on the board at end of game (I think it's the first) and I think it then counts 2* as 3, 3* as 9, so if you had 2X 2* and 1x 1* sorcerers in the game and started at 0/20, then that should progress to 7/20 once the mission processing is done.
JustClone (EUNE)
: **Here riot explains it (text is from your own link):** >Champions With High Mastery Curves? A mastery curve is a representation of how much more effective a player becomes on a champ as they play them more. Champions with steep mastery curves, like Aurelion Sol and Katarina, typically have a much higher win rate when played by experienced players than newcomers to the champion. >We are intentionally leaving out mastery curve data when considering which champions to buff or nerf because we don’t want to enact a system that might punish the investments players make into mastering a champion. We’re also optimistic that if a champion’s power when mastered is out of line, then it will show up as highly present in Pro play or highly banned in Elite play—both of which will lead to nerfs. If you cannot comprehend when I say it, maybe you will get it from riot... If you still do not understand what they say, I can help again. Just ask, son.
You have a bit abrasive way of replying... What you quoted will then be applied _per bucket_ , so if the "average play" bucket's OTPs of a champion can't drag up the win rate of that champion enough to offset the "average play" newcomers winrate of that champion to not be in "needs a buff" range, they might think of some tweaks to the champion to buff its "average play" without buffing its "pro play" (too much).
JustClone (EUNE)
: No, son. You are the one who doesn't get it. The champions in this game are balanced around pro-players, not low elo players. While for you she seems "unplayable", for people who have skills with her, she is a monster. The bad thing is , that nothing can be done for you. This is why riot designs also champion who have kits that suitable for people with poor to none game knowledge. You can pick suitable champion for your skill level here: https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_champions/Ratings (sort by Difficulty) As you will see, Irelia has difficulty of 3 on the top of the list. (right next to other champions, that I gave you as example) Pick champions on the bottom. Warwick for example... Last time I say this, man. Irelia is very strong, but it is just not for you.

Anyhow as you say, you do have to learn how to play against 14-1 zeds (just an example) but WHY though. In iron you learn basics of movement and casting abilities. In bronze you learn to play with your team instead of playing solo and to not be greedy, and then in silver you have to learn to 1v9???? This jump in difficulty is not something that should happen, in silver you should need to learn how to play with waves and map awareness while in reality you have to learn to do something usually higher elo's learn. What I mean is silver is too low an elo to learn how to 1v9 carry, but you have to if you want to climb due to afks, no ganks, inters, trolls, people just having a bad day.

Since humans haven't yet adapted to abuse at least 2 of the Alphastars apparently being OTPs... And of course you don't use real AI bots for Coop vs AI, since then you can probably run 10+x the number of ranked games on a server than Coop games...
sbepuz (EUW)
: ask to dota2, ah sorry, riot only able to copy dota and make it easyer, so all player could play it ^^ bots have more than 97% winrate also vs world champions teams, and in a long time it is destineted to be 100% winrate vs everyone they study why players to some plays, and they make this plays perfect, and they will remember all plays for a specifical situation....our bots are not even able to use flash
You must not have played Coop in a while... Bots do at times flash for the kill or to escape or for ex. Malphite-bot ulting away at 2% health to deny you the kill... Edit: and the learning of the AI is mostly like "place it near a road 10K times, sometimes it wanders into the road, gets hit by a car and dies, sometimes it doesn't cross the road, sometimes it randomly walks onto the zebra crossing and (mostly) the cars will stop and not hit it" and then discarding patterns that got it killed and re-enforcing ones that didn't get it killed. Does it know _why_ that different color bit of road is less likely to get it killed? No. Such an AI will reach "works for me" solutions that might absolutely not be optimal for humans or even itself. (might play an AP champ AD or something like that because it fits with its mechanics/APM...) I wonder if it would ever come up with the concept of a "support", let alone something like a Sona Taric bot lane; didn't OpenAI share gold equally among its champs in those Dota 2 matches?
sbepuz (EUW)
: OpenAI's DotA AI this bot had more than 97% winrate, and it is going to be 100% in a long time, they study all game played to implement their gameplay while we have the 1 iq bot x)
I think that one had the restriction on which champions could be played on both sides? And I guess like Star Craft 2's AlphaStar it trains mostly through thousands of OpenAI vs OpenAI games? I'm guessing such an AI bot would also take many multiples of times the resources of the intermediate bots to run as "Coop Hard" after training. Hmm, looks like about 2% of games are Coop SR and hardly any Coop TT, so I guess they'll have a bit extra resources from not letting the TT bots break to invest in the SR bots once TT is shut down... ;) https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/wYcVRQBO-quick-gameplay-thoughts-august-9?comment=000d0000 Over the years they do have tweaked the intermediate bots to counter first-blood cheeses a bit, to zone if a lane is 1v2 because of a jungler etc. (Fortunately the amount of training makes it time and money prohibitive for level 30 farm bot scripts to switch from dumber than beginner bots to AI....)
: Why doesn't Riot improve the bots?
Maybe once lvl 30 farm bot scripts surpass riot beginner bots? ;)

In the case of a disconnect, the server has no way of verifying at all what the reason is, so _has_ to assume the player is intentionally disconnected, since if it gives the benefit of the doubt, that will be abused. I had an unintentional leave/not getting into game a short while ago: DNS seemed to somehow hickup on looking up the game server after champ select ((cached?) other hosts worked fine) and ended up needing to reboot my laptop for it to start working again. Filled in the leaverbuster "I agree" and mostly was glad it was only a Coop vs AI game to get first-win-of-the-day and I didn't ruin 4 or 9 people's game because some software or hardware decided to hickup. (not the client's fault and I guess that case _was_ caught by error detection/handling)
Support is probably explicitly prevented from changing things there to avoid being social-engineered by people that did really earn that leaverbuster. And you really, really are being too principled for your own good. When I'm at a zebra crossing and a car is approaching, I carefully check if it stops, not boldly/blindly step onto the crossing thinking "You shall let me cross, since that's what the law says!"... Maybe the wording on the popup could be improved from assuming the worst reason for not participating in that previous game, but suggest that to them then.

: You are wrong, flat out. It just so happens that I actually did make a game, and a server for it, and I just did it for fun, I am not a professional programmer, but I made it with a function on the client side so that you get a notice if you get disconnected from the server. I made it with what I am sure is a crappy solution but I dedicated a Thread to ping the server for a response with a sleep timer between pings. Im sure that the programmers for RIOT can come up with a better but equally functional solution. If I had just gotten a message that I was disconnected, instead of just the normal loading screeen I would have acted sooner. I didnt make my client save any logs of what caused a disconnect or any failed attempts to reconnect but its not rocket science and it doesnt require any invasive takeover of my computer. I had a fully functional internet connection, the problem wasnt my internet connection who failed, the problem was that the client didnt inform me that anything was wrong, as soon at I restarted I got into the game. I can only guess that why they refuse to accept that this wasnt my fault is because that means they have to admit that they have a bug in their client that caused it, or poorly programmed, either way.

The only reason I am here is to let people know that in their Terms of Use, you have exactly no rights to your account, and they can (and apparently will) excercise that right rather than unlocking an account they have wrongly locked. The worst part of this situation is that this is according to support a fully automated system that they have no control over. How idiotic is that to make a system that makes errors but their support cant fix? Either the support flat out lied to me or someone need to program the system so the support can manually fix things when something apparently went wrong. The only reason I am here is to let people know that in their Terms of Use, you have exactly no rights to your account, That unfortunately is standard in the digital world. Just like for ex. if you buy a DVD/Blu-Ray you aren't buying the movie/series, but just some bits of plastic and metal and getting a license to play the movie/series from that particular bit of plastic and metal. (if you break it, no more movie/series...) Or if you "buy" a movie/series/music/game download on an apple/amazon/etc. account, they have the right at any time to revoke the item from your account, probably deleting it from your harddisk and/or make it unplayable in case of DRM for any/no reason...) And as for LoL, unless you want the LoL client to invasively take over your computer, network etc., the server can't really differentiate between leaving the game because of the client misbehaving, walking away from the client, killing the client, yanking out the network cable, etc. so unfortunately all cases of "server didn't get input from the client for a long time" need to be treated the same.

: I used the PBE briefly during the transition phase from RP to BE and not alot of info is available anyways. Why do old skins that cost RP still exist? I honestly don't know Why they moved from RP to BE? There's their explanation and the one between the lines. Upfront they stopped giving RP due to issues, they ended up gifting a fixed ammount of RP a or a few times before stopping altogether. People ran out of RP and they weren't giving any away, when new skins were released they made them cost 1 BE and said that it was a temporary fix, it seems hat it worked fine and have been doing that ever since. My tin-foily "between the lines" explanation would be that they did this on purpose. Ever since they made getting a PBE account easier the number of people on the PBE server increased significantly (duh) which could have caused a lot pressure on a server that was't used to it. The quality of "testing" dropped which defeated the purpose of the server to begin with. Knowing that made a PBE account solely to get the skins they wanted and not necessarily to try out things that actually needed testing Riot decided to cut off the RP to figure sth. out. Tried the gifting of RP but it didn't help putting less pressure on the servers nor improving the quality of the situation so they stopped doing that. They ended up with the 1 BE solution d it has worked so far. People who weren't interested in new stuff had 0 interest in playing on the PBE (which in general has worst ping and more bugs) knowing that they won't be receiving any more RP to buy the skins that they want and the people that re left either already have the skins they want or will actually test the new stuff out. They never issued an official explanation on anything this is pure speculation on my part, but it's the only explanation that makes sense of the situation in my mind.
Didn't a live server deploy also once accidentally have the PBE's lower RP price for some new skins? I guess it's easier/simpler/safer to have the live server deploy script do an automated "if skin price is in RP then OK else error" check than it doing a check for them having at least a certain price...

Not sure, but I kind of suspect you will miss out 2 days then, since such a system feels like a "get the newby in a rythm of daily play to lower the odds of them taking a break after their first few games and maybe not returning" system. (no idea if missing 2 days loses you 2x rewards, _which_ ones you would lose out on: those in the middle or at the end) It's probably also why there's a 3-day XP boost on the 3rd day, yet more "if you don't play, you miss out" stuff. BTW, the support page lists them as _Login rewards_ , so you could always check if that's true and just the 1-2 minutes to do a login instead of the 7+ minutes for a game after login does work too.

: Why is RIOT games discriminating us ?
- f2p model mixed with Riot thinking that it's best to not overwhelm newbies to the genre with too much choice right at the start. (most of those then start with Coop vs AI and by the time/level they've gotten familiar enough with the game to try normals, they would have unlocked more rune pages, summoner spells and champions) - "meta" for a large part comes from the playerbase optimizing the heck out of things and Riot having to deal with that. (I've now and then watched some Dota 2 streams and to me it looked rather chaotic/about as un-optimized as quite low rank league streams...)

A question regarding this, if I may: I got 60-80 ms with my current connection (ADSL, ~13 / 0,75 Mbps). But I will get a 500 / 500 fibre connection within the year (finally!), and here's the question: What ping can I expect to see afterwards? My guesstimate, without having done any checks or math on it, is in the 30-50 ms range.
If it's the same ISP, it would likely only shave off a few ms. (think about it as buying a house at another place in the city while still having to drive over the exact same highways to work in another city) If it's another ISP, they might use a different route over the "internet highways" to Riot's EUNE servers in Frankfurt, Germany, but unless a route is pretty terrible, the largest chunk of the "ping" is just the physical distance between whereever you live and Frankfurt, Germany... (For ex. the 12ms ping I get on EUW is just the result of the signal only having to travel half a small country: my home in the south of the Netherlands -> ISP in Amsterdam, the Netherlands -> EUW server in Amsterdam, the Netherlands) (the extra bandwidth of the 500/500 should reduce the risk of lag spikes because of someone in your home starting a download/upload and perhaps the ISP might have higher guaranteed bandwidth on their network/to outside for such a higher speed line...)

: No i dont mean my fps, when i get 150 ms the game is very laggy leading to the powerpoint a thing that does not happen when i play in NA with 150 ms
Your FPS counter stays constant, but things seem to jump around a bit? I guess could be packet loss. (the server says "that champion moved from A to B to C to D to E" and your PC only recieved the "from A to B", "to D" and "to E" messages, so there's a bit of a jump where the "to C" should have been.)
: I see. My friend is not an IT expert or anything, he just sometimes suffer from lags when his brother is using the internet as well. So this is probably why internet was the first thing came to his mind. Thank you for the information you gave me. I am using Windows right now, because it's been sometime since I was able to successfully run League on Linux. It seems changes in each patch make it incompatible with Wine, at least until they figure out a new fix each time this happens. Which makes things complicated.

My friend is not an IT expert or anything, he just sometimes suffer from lags when his brother is using the internet as well. So this is probably why internet was the first thing came to his mind. Well, if a download uses up all the bandwidth, that's more "no" than "slow" internet I guess... ;) Not sure if in cases like that the router might have some "Quality of Service"/QoS settings that could perhaps ensure some minimal bandwidth for LoL/the PC where LoL is played. (such sessings are for ex. used to ensure big downloads don't result in internet phone calls (VoIP) going all stuttery...) But internet shouldn't be a cause of FPS drops.
: need advice
It's possible that you're not yet at the point where smurfs have been detected and shoved into their own matchmaking queue or it could even be that your knowledge of the game led you to be mis-detected as a smurf and accidentally put into the smurfs matchmaking... ;-( As others have said, maybe playing Coop vs AI and/or ARAM for a few levels might get you past the smurfs zone.
: Is my summoner name bannable?
I don't think they do bans for summoner names. Reports for "offensive summoner name" I think just lead to being forced to change it. (though I guess if a person then changes it to something that again gets a bunch of reports, they could look less kindly on that...) Unless I miss something, your name doesn't really look offensive to me.
: How to get honors without begging for it ?
As far as I understood, _giving_ honors should also add a bit to honor progress and indeed the more casual-ish modes seem to lead to plenty of honoring. Also: getting honors from people you are premade with add less than from strangers.
: then why don't you show us how it doesn't matter and climb to high elo with it
While high stable ping and low bandwidth that's not used up by other things can get you to high elo if combined with high player skill, my iron-4-ish mechanics/hand-eye-coordination can't at any ping/bandwidth... ;-P *valks straight into the other team and my death as Corki in a game of ARAM*
: why did i suddenly become worse
Looks like you had a win streak, so probably got pit against stronger opponents from rising in MMR and now are on an equal-ish length loss streak. (you don't seem to have had worse KDA scores than your teammates in a few of the losses I quick checked from your match history)
: I'd like to start by saying there are a lot of things I don't know about the game, that I recently started reading about. And it's pretty exciting. I was missing out on a lot of things I needed to know. That being said, here's my personal experience on the subject: A high Elo player who was kind enough to watch a game of mine noticed I was going numb in team fights. He concluded there was probably something going on with the pc. Another friend of mine also told me that a slow internet could be the culprit, because, in team fights, the system collects data from 10 different players, making it laggy. It may be true since fps drop in team fights (around 10fps for a few seconds). I already use the lowest specs with no sound, with a cap of 30fps that often doesn't reach. Now the thing is, he also wondered if this was also to blame about my overall playstyle. On my old pc, where I played most of the time, the fps cap was 25, and for about an entire season I had 15fps, because I was using PlayOnLinux on Ubuntu (great OS, unfortunately not compatible with a lot of Windows programs. Thankfully it has some pretty good alternatives - anyway...). What this means, is, I started to avoid trading because I couldn't do it. So he advised me to improve as a player, but to also move on to a better setup and internet connection, as being responsive in fights is crucial. But you know - I mean... I didn't even do that for DOA :^) In all seriousness, it's always advised to use the recommended specs for each game, and make sure your internet speed is efficient. ----------------------------------------------And now some Irrelevant stuff-------------------------------------------------- Ok, so, there is something more that bugs me since today :v I thought: "Even if I play something simple like Garen and farm, ulting blindly a random full hp Nautilus in team fights doesn't really help. So maybe I should leave the resources to someone who can actually use them. While I'll be playing a champion who may be useful even when the screen freezes." But then, I bumped into this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRaYF9CoHa0 Time to put on your tinfoil hats: **After the 7 min mark**, Hashinshin starts explaining his theory about Top lane picks in high elo - who cares right? But then he continues by saying that this season Riot changed something in the Ranked system. Players can not afford to climb by a neutral win rate, as they used to. So, while in the past you could play decently something passive in some games (like when you autofill and don't know what to play), and expect your team to win half of the times (by helping them but not hard carrying), this season the "_matchmaking system will chuck you into games that aren't equal ... that you always need to hard carry_". And here's why I now worry: I have been complaining lately about huge loss streaks, that I have repeatedly stumbled upon. But these games were not close at all - the one team looked like they were somewhat inting. So, my problem with that is: Is this something normal that I worry too much about it, or the matchmaking system will intentionally start forcing me into games that I will need to hard carry? I don't know, maybe I won't be able to get away this time by just learning concepts (like wave management) while blindly spamming shields or heals in team fights. I will have to upgrade my system/internet and also improve as a player if that's true. {{sticker:sg-soraka}}

It may be true since > fps drop in team fights (around 10fps for a few seconds). I already use the lowest specs with no sound, with a cap of 30fps that often doesn't reach. "slow" internet should never be a problem: back when there still was an external replay program being made by someone, IIRC all the recorded data sent from the server amounted to something like 10-15Mbyte total for a half hour match, so even an antique but stable 1Mbit line would be sufficient enough for that. CPU and/or GPU would be a more likely culprit when having to draw all 10 champions and all the sparkly explosions/effects in a big team fight. (if on Ubuntu/Linux and using a Nvidia GPU, it might be worth trying both the open source and proprietary video drivers)
: do you know how hard it's to play yasuo or kata above 30 ms? outside of proplay how is NA a 4fun region lol i played there the games aren't easier except for the 1st time i played the games are pretty hard to win compared to euw but maybe because i have better mmr there and shitty mmr in my home region but otherwise i don't think there's much difference also i am not giving anyone an excuse i am just saying my internet and pc are so very shit that they don't meet the bare minimums, sad life
Well, most people mentioning "bad ping" in that case mean "high-ish ping, since I'm far from the server" instead of highly variable ping because of bad local-ish network equipment, "shitty wifi connection" (why would anybody use that on a device with an ethernet port?) etc., so by the first definition, probably 70+% of North America would have "bad ping".
: Damn people keep telling me unplayable ping doesn't matter lol
Stop giving NA an excuse for being a 4fun region! ;) (server is in the middle of the USA, so both coasts have "high ping".) Constant ping of even 150ms (which is probably higher than playing on NA server from western Europe (haven't played on NA since before their server move...)) should be way better than a ping fluctuating between for ex 5 and 60.

: Is there a way to keep Ranked Mode chosen?
I think Meddler should post his next "Quick Gameplay Thoughts" topic in https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner in 2 days. Maybe asking as a reply to that next post there if this is intentional could help...
