: [Fan Fiction Contest] Never One, Without the Other…
Since reading this I've been churning out an idea it gave me. It looks like it's going to be a bit over the 1000 word limit (1200 ish). Is it a strict limit?

: dodging.
Nah man, currently the servers are having a wobbly. A few major bugs have cropped up, so either they're preventing people from starting a game until it's fixed, or the server is keeling over a bit and suffering another %%%% up. Either way it's not just bad luck, it's just a technical issue :D
: Annie needs a VGU
To be honest I think her current kit is simple but fine. Could just do with some bells and whistles to give it a bit more viability (though with mana being changed this patch, her Q mana sustain ought to make her more competitive). Would like to see an E change though, given how it's standard fare now for all of a champions abilities to be meaningful to their playstyle, and her E just... isn't except for charging up stun stacks. However, I 100% agree with having a visual update. Riot are trying to make characters like Annie, MF, and Darius deeper in the lore, but don't try to reflect it in game which creates a massive disconnect. On one hand, you got people who like the lore but can't stand the characters in the game, but you also have people who prefer the personality shown in game, and may be pissed that Riot isn't representing that character or that they're trying to change it. I think with the animation, a lot of people will be in the first camp in regards to Annie.

: IS AP DEAD??
The items you built are more utility, so they won't do much for your abilities' damage. Protobelt gives the lowest AP of any completed item, and is reliant on you using it to all in or engage, while Zhonya only gives 70 AP. You should really build either a lost chapter item or a RoA first so you have a decent AP pool first, or at the very least, second. Even a Lich bane would be passable for Ekko and perhaps TF. Itemisation is a bit more important now for mid laners, given the mage item updates impact on said laners.
: Sion starts getting picked very often in LCS > Nerf
The reason they use the LCS and pro play to measure a champion's effectiveness is that theoretically the champions are being used to their best possible advantage by professionals who know the game inside and out. This is why they have to keep nerfing Ryze and Azir. Yes, they have a high skill cap and low win rate in solo queue, but they're extremely powerful when used in organised play. However, I will admit this has flaws that aren't acknowledged by them often. I think Riot can be dismissive of pub stompers such as Darius and Yorick who see little to no pro play but can dominate solo queue. Now it could be argued that because they aren't taken in pro play, they're bad. However, if that's the case and they'll never see play even when strong in solo queue, surely it won't affect the LCS if they're nerfed and will only make people who have to deal with them happy? The problem with that is that they could be sleeper OP such as Sion was, but nerfing them will borderline guarantee that they will never see pro-play, and have their supposed best play possible never happen to be examined and analysed. While Sion has been annoying for the past half year, remember he was like a lot of the non-reworked tanks after the midseason update, and in a funny spot. The game was changing a lot and it was hard to tell who was genuinely strong. Even though the reworked tanks would prove themselves to be OP later on, Pros were actually hesitant to pick them initally. With the rune update as well, that was a balance mess but for all 140+ champions rather than just ADCs and Tanks. There were a lot of champions abusing certain runes, so I think Riot initially thought that nerfing the runes alone would be enough, or thought that they'd have certain runes rebalanced before it got to a point where individual nerfs were truly necessary. Things didn't work out though, so as a result, they had to let certain core champions this meta stay strong until the pro spring split ended until they could nerf them without screwing over a whole lane. I mean, imagine if the week before finals Sion, Camille, Ornn, and Cho'gath all got nerfs? Or how about Braum, Janna, Lulu and TK? Pros in those roles would be forced to play champions that they had little practice on, drafting tactics would have to be re-analysed, and it could lead to a big mess. Do I think they waited too long to deal with Sion this season? Yeh. I think he's had a strong kit with obscene base damage for a long time and when he popped in pro play for a few weeks running, they could have also cited solo queue play to warrant nerfs. Do I think I understand why they waited? Yeh. The last 6-9 months have been pretty turbulent balance wise, so I can get why it was hard to read a champion's strengths given changes to the game and rune experimentation. Arguably though, they should have seen this coming. Manaflow removed mana gating, which is what they had to hit him with back in season 5-ish. tl;dr It makes sense to use pro play to balance champions, but I agree they waited too long to nerf Sion given how a) he was already demonstrably strong and b) the rune update essentially negated earlier E mana cost nerfs which apparently gave him some season 4 play. Yes it was hard to read his strength due to major game updates, but there were blaring warnings that he needed nerfs way before the last couple of weeks of pro play.

: The tank thing..
Gargoyle stoneplate kinda fills this niche where theoretically a tank or bruiser can charge in, do what they need to do, then activate it. In exchange for massive durability, they only do 40% of their damage. It hasn't really worked out too well though. The few champions you really see buying it are Cho'gath because of his true damage bite damage which is actually increased since the active multiplies your hp, Jarvan because after he blows his E,Q, Ult auto combo since he can't do much until his cooldowns are back up, and Kled because if anyone wants some more durability after running into a 5 man deathsquad, it's Kled. If you look at some items though, you can see this in a more subtle indirect way. Items that give durability to mages such as Banshee, Liandry and Zhonya tend to give less AP than items that give no durability. It's similar for Guardian angel as well.
: > My issue is that similar champions with similar kits such as Xin and Shyv have been nerfed, while Warwick hasn't been tweaked at all. Auto attack based champions with pick tools and some hardiness, but fall off as they bring less utility. Then again, I'm not sure exactly what they could nerf. Q and W max are both strong to max first, E sometimes sees a second max, and his ult doesn't feel too oppressive Just because riot nerfs a champion similar to Warwick doesn’t mean Warwick required a nerf as well... press the attack got buffed which boosted both of these champions so they got t nerfed in response as they didn’t need a buff. Warwick isn’t a press the attack user so he didn’t get nerfed. > I think he at least needs a base AD nerf, small reduction healing from his passive, and a small armour reduction. I suggest these because Warwick simply clears too easily, too quickly, and too safely. Except he was designed to do exactly that... he is meant to be the beginners jungler, the champion people use to learn how to jungle... that’s why he has a very safe clear, it’s because he is meant to have the easiest and safest clear in the game... that’s litterally why he exists. > We learned from Ivern that junglers with extremely flexible, difficult to punish pathing can be really obnoxious and hard to balance. Warwick is no exception to this. You can genuinely do a full blue, gromp, wolf, Raptor, Red, and Krug with no jungle item. If you do it without casting smite, you can do Blue, Gromp, Wolves and Red. That's insanely sustained. When you combine it with a map mobility tool such as his W, you have a pretty insane solo queue champion. Except we haven’t learn anything from ivern... we can’t translate things from ivern to other champions cause ivern is ivern. Simply because ivern doesn’t clear in the traditional way he is completely different from other junglers and thus any balancing issues on ivern aren’t applicable to champions like Warwick. And remember it’s Warwick... he has had that insane sustain for almost 10 years, and his blood lust has also been a thing for that long as well... both of those things aren’t something riot can nerf heavily without killing him (and frankly Warwick only just got on his feet again so they aren’t going to want to send him back to the way things used to be). If he needs a nerf his clear isn’t the way to do it... better to target his late game scaling or his PvP rather than his PvE.

It's his most common keystone. He can proc it with his Q and Ult, making it a great choice on him. > Except he was designed to do exactly that... he is meant to be the beginners jungler, the champion people use to learn how to jungle... that’s why he has a very safe clear, it’s because he is meant to have the easiest and safest clear in the game... that’s litterally why he exists. > You can't have a champion be strong and not have to deal with the issues other champions have to deal with because it's a beginner's champion. Kit difficulty and balance tend to be more debatable with high skill cap champions that can be insanely strong, but only if played perfectly IE Azir. We've seen with Nunu that simple champions with unique kits can be extremely overpowered, so if Warwick is strong at all tiers of play with a not particularly high skill ceiling, it's likely he could just be too strong. > Ok, let me break it down. Ivern was really damn strong when the jungle was updated because compared to other junglers, he had a lot of flexibility in how he cleared. Riot specifically called this out and made clearing through his passive more difficult. While there were other factors IE the power of support items, this was a major factor in his early dominance. Warwick can start any buff, can go back to farming after almost any kind of gank that leaves him alive at the end of it, and is hard to deal with in the early game for most junglers. These echo the issues we saw in Ivern and see in Nunu occasionally. While it doesn't involve a special mechanic, it has similar results. First up, just got on his feet again. Warwick has been in a strong spot since before preseason. He's consistently had a 51% and above win rate. Hell, he even saw some pro play last year. I think he'd qualify to be examined for some nerfs. However to repeat myself, because of how Warwick is designed I think hitting his early clears are really the only way they could nerf him without hitting all of his basic abilities at the same time, or his ult. Because he's so 'beginner friendly', his builds and leveling paths are really flexible. Targeting his passive and base stats would let him keep this flexibility, but make it more about optimisation than every path being good for him in all situations. Targeting his scaling wouldn't do much given how he's normally seen to fall off damage wise, and only makes up for it due to his suppress. If his PvP is targeted, it's going to affect his clear speed as I discussed earlier. Just to clarify, I don't think Warwick is hugely overpowered, but I think his early game is (ironically) unhealthy for other junglers to compete with. Yes Warwick had super sustain pre-rework, but he also had little bearing on the early game without easy to gank lanes. The purpose of his sustain was so that he could hit that golden level 6 uncontested, but had to use it wisely. This Warwick, however, has significantly more pre-level 6 presence, and simply doesn't need this level of sustain to be a viable champion
: Vayne is a relativity difficult champion, players who are new to her tend to drag her down... especially if they try to imitate high level players and make big plays which cost them games. She also ain’t the best for solo Q as she does need things going right for her and do need to have her team work with her. So vayne should naturally have a low win rate, probably 47-49% at a guess... so a 54% win rate does have alarms go off as she is getting away with more than she should or she isn’t punishable enough. Win rate is subjective... Warwick and vayne having the same win rate either means Warwick is too weak or vayne is too strong... they shouldn’t share the same win rate.

I really like the idea of this! Not sure if they could get away with a Mario homage, but the idea of him as a regular Plumber/Janitor could pretty awesome. Could Skarl maybe be a Rat or some kind of uncleanly pest? It would make shit REAAAAAAAAL awkward if Twitch saw it though. Also, the bear trap could be a plunger instead that sticks to an enemies arse, with maybe a mop replacing the spear.
: Alpha Pulse - Sorcery
The issue with this rune is that it could potentially cause a slew of insane balance problems. It would impact cs, attack speed champion power spikes, and bring up a whole lot of questions IE impact on auto enhancers (Jax W), auto-triggered abilities such as Yorick when he autos a Maiden's target, and true damage. Late game it would be insane on champions like Kog'maw, Varus, and Kayle since you're giving them a free wit's end passive. Hell, I think every tank main would end their lives simultaneously at the thought of trying to optimise against it. At the same time, it could be a massive trap for certain champions and %%%% up their laning phase. However, I think translating some of this to Lethal Tempo could be a good idea. Perhaps a small 5-10 (1-18) magic damage bonus with some movement speed when LT activates would make it a more attractive option.

: Deficio's Top 5 MVP Rankings - Week 6
Honestly, I'd not have swapped Rekkles for Hans Sama. The Misfits' bot lane in my book are one of the more underrated duos in the game, especially when you do look at it from a stats perspective. Hans is out damaging Rekkles in both avg. damage per minute and team share wise even with a lower gold share, and Mikyx has some of the best vision control stats in the EU LCS. The two of them with their jungler have the highest first blood percentage, and honestly, there's a lot less hype around them. Rekkles is consistently bigged up to be one of the best ADCs in the world, but when push comes to shove he just doesn't deliver on the day and I don't see this changing. We saw this in worlds where he had some of the worst ADC stats in the group stage onwards. Don't get me wrong, he's definitely top three ADCs minimum in the EU LCS, a fantastic player by all means. I just feel that other fantastic players are being ignored more because of his reputation than performance. Finally, I just don't feel that a 2-week upturn is enough boot a more consistent player off the list. You could argue that Misfits aren't even in the top three which eliminates their players as candidates, but I feel MVP should look more closely at players' personal performances. Yes, a good player becomes a great player by translating their own performance into advantages for their team, but there are so many factors to consider such as team shot-calling, synergy, off stage issues etc that can hold a team back. Otherwise, I'd agree pound for pound with Deficio's list. Maybe a little iffy with Wunder, but hey, he's a player that isn't a mid laner or ADC. I'll take it.

{{item:2055}} is starting to develop an inferiority complex. Seriously though, don't be so cheap and just pick a couple up every now and then. Yeah the 75 g is annoying, but considering it could get your team (or stop the other team from getting) 300 g +, it's a worthy investment.

Probably unrelated, but Rangi got a ferocity sack when the hook connects with the minion, but he's up in top lane so I'm not sure if any spaghetti added back in could have affected the hook. It also seems to shift in the direction of Orianna's autos, so maybe some weird spaghetti interaction with her passive?

RoA kassadin was long ago since his W was buffed for lower CDR. Kassadin now can go full damages, Even with Luden's first he still won't have much damage, plus he won't have any extra Hp. You can pop him like a balloon even more easily. Besides, most Kassadin's want to scale heavily, so Archangels is a bit more probable. Even then, it'll be a second item at best. You're thinking too late in the game though. You want to be beating his ass with Level 2 or 3 cheeses when he tries to melee CS. Rank 1 W does 120, non crit Q does 65, follow up auto does 70 damage, followed by 85 damage from passive. If you're both level 2, that's half his hp in one spell rotation. If you land one back and forth W on him first, take ignite and try beat him to level 2 by pushing like a mad man it'll be even easier. Your early base damage is bonkers and you need to learn how and when to abuse it. Also really don't recommend taking him against tanky bruisers like Garen and Nasus. Bruisers are pretty much the anti drug to AD assassins provided they stay safe in early levels. Garen's W can block 60-30% of your burst depending on his timing and he'll be too fat to burst by mid game. Same with Nasus, even by level 6 you could be clapped if he rushes some armour.
TTalonn (EUW)
: did you not see PBE news? it was supposed to get based damage increased and AD ratio ... but ;-(
I'm confused, why are you angry? His buff leaves him with a base MR of 39 at level 1, something that literally no other champion in the game has. I also don't understand why you're referring to Kassadin in this situation, since a) Kassadin already loses heavily to Talon in the early game (Talon has 57% win rate on him), b) he normally buys RoA first, which hasn't been touched. If you're talking about his late game, well I'm sorry to tell you this but Talon falls off like a brick, especially compared to Kassadin. Hell, while mana and CDR has generally been increased on mages, their first buy will almost never give them as much AP as Morello's did, so if anything this patch is great for Talon since you should win more all ins during the laning phase.

: What have they done...
I think being a good pick across almost every meta since his release is pretty good innings. Besides, Lee wasn't being played an abundant amount in the pro leagues this meta except for the LPL. Here's a few reasons to justify this change: Tracker's knife needing to be removed for pro play, how it gives Lee room to be worked on, and why a lot of doomsaying is pretty over the top. 1. Tracker's knife and pro play Tracker's knife was pretty much an essential pick. One of the biggest aspects of pro play is vision control to create and negate chances for the Jungler to create map pressure. Even duelists like Kha'zix who would benefit greatly from Skirmishers would have to take Tracker's to keep up with the other Jungler, thus dulling what little build diversity junglers have even further. That's not the main issue though. With the two free wards gained on every back, a team could coordinate their vision very effectively ensure that the opposing jungler couldn't interfere with their lane if it was going well unless the opposing team sunk a lot of resources into a play that couldn't be avoided IE 5 man dive in bottom lane. Add control wards into the mix and BAM; slow early game, with most games lasting around 40 minutes. 2. Why it could be good for Lee in the long run Lee is considered to be an early game champion and rightly so. Powerful gank tools, high mobility even at level 3 and decent base damage with poor scaling. However, even in the mid game on a behind team, a well-timed ward hop flash ult could completely turn a game around. The flexibility offered by his ward hop not just as an escape tool, but a means to extend every other ability of his kit rewards high tier players for using it effectively. It also means though that low tier scrubs like us probably aren't using it is as effectively as possible. If he performs poorly in solo queue while performing fantastically in pro play, it makes it difficult for Rito to please either side. By removing Tracker's knife, it reduces how often he can use his W for plays. While both solo queue and pro play may feel this, it could be that's a good thing. It means that Rito has less factors to juggle when balancing Lee, so now if they want to buff Lee for solo queue, they now don't have to worry as much about highly mechanical plays occurring as often in pro play. 3. Control wards exist Yes, they cost 75 gold but when you consider he's an early game jungler with a window of opportunity that's extended by gold into stats, but not enough to close a game out most of the time, 75 gold isn't a massive lost. Besides, 75 gold for a kill, avoiding a death, or setting up a game winning play is pretty damn valuable.

: banned for?
Aight, let's pick this apart. First couple of lines are pretty negative, but could be in response to something and just out of context. First one that caught my eye though is: "µbitz also noob with wrong start item" Guessing you meant Blitz. Out of the blue you start calling him a noob. You then proceed to berate him and insult him. Not providing useful feedback or offering advice, but just telling him he's bad and you want people to report him. Next time, just say "Hey Blitz, can you buy a relic shield. It'll give both of us gold and healing." You then continue to be miserable to play with and complain for a while, calling people "little kid". We then get to the bit where you talk about 'Ez champ'. Not content in insulting your own team, you proceed to call the other team a "nub team" and 'hardcore feeders'. You explicitly state that you want to "get inside MF's head" by tilting her and talking about her poorly performing team. "soon he gonna cry", "MIND WAR" "kids are tiltable." That's really damn scummy and washes away any chance that anyone could have any sympathy towards you in this incident. The funny thing is if you just stuck to your guns and kept to your that "ill be quiet for rest of game" you probably wouldn't be looking at this ban. I also doubt this is the first time you've behaved like this, given how a 15 day ban is the last step towards perma ban. I sincerely hope you get the cojones to admit you acted shittily and try turn thing around for yourself.
: How long does it take to honor an opponent?
I'd really like to be able to honor an opponent each game too. Sometimes you'll be in top lane and have a great back and forth lane, sometimes you just want to give respect to a player who never gave up and played their best even if they had a bad early game.
: Poppy Discussion
I think pre-tank update she was a walking balance disaster waiting to happen. She could bring consistent damage and be pretty damn sticky when rushing iceborn. Her teamfight was never god tier, but she was fantastic in small skirmishes and bum rushing the back line. Post tank update, she's struggling to succeed since she can neither bring enough damage to compete with carries/bruisers like GP and Camille even in the early game, nor can she match the resilience and utility of tanks such as Maokai or Ornn. She fits into a niche of champions who have fighter-esque kits, but build full tank such as Mundo and Voli. Since the tank update they were struggling, though the sunfire revert has helped them bounce back a little. So here's the problem in my opinion. She's a jack of all trades which let her run rampant when tanks were inherently strong due to their mid-game base damage and the hp pools given by their items. Now, most tanks who were released before/ unchanged during the tank update are fairly weak in lane, she just can't get a huge amount done. Personally, I think she doesn't need her damage changed, but instead needs a little more durability to win those early game skirmishes, or perhaps make her E a flat 1.75 second stun. They just need to decide if they want her to be an early game bully or more of a mid-game powerhouse.

: Brain enhancing drugs in competitive LoL
While I agree these things should be enforced by routine checks plus a welfare team, it'd be more to prevent damage to the players themselves. Issues with PEDs in esports have been more prevalent in more action orientated games IE shooters such as CS GO. There are also a whole slew of side effects which could negatively impact a player's performance (which in turn could pressure them to take more). I also think given how Riot is strict with regulations, how referees are present at all times and the recent franchising of the LCS, I don't think any players or coaches would dare suggest these medications. Plus, a lot of players stream increasing the timeframe where they could be observed to act abnormally. Again though, I do agree I'd like some confirmation from Riot that they've taken steps to prevent the use of these drugs. Not because I think they'd be very effective in enhancing play, more likely to detriment performance, but to ensure that the players aren't being taken advantage of or pressured to take dangerous unnecessary medication.
: Buff Shaco ffs
Shaco's sitting around a 52% win rate. Assassins are at a weird spot where they have a decent early game, struggle in the mid-game, but then get a massive power boost in the late game as they get more penetration and AD. With games ending earlier on average though, it can be difficult for them. Regardless, he's doing pretty well atm. On a side note, if you don't find him enjoyable why did you play 4 games of Shaco immediately after posting this. Hell, you can't even cite your own games since your win/loss ratio is almost bang on 50% across your 65 games in the past week. I know winning with a champ and having fun on a champion aren't the same thing, but still.
: How do you land skillshots on Ahri?
Try to throw it out when they try to CS. Ideally, you want to position yourself so they get hit right at the end of the arc so they take both chunks of damage simultaneously.
: Of course it does. Assassins target squishies. Squishies never build MR. Squishies have low basic MR {{item:3151}} {{item:3135}} {{item:3020}} vs {{champion:81}}/noMR = true damage. For example.
I think he's referring to the passive. The passive is something you'd see on a tank shredder or consistent damage champions, yet the flat pen benefits burst mages and assassins a lot more. It's two conflicting parts of the item, and to be honest building it against a tank in top lane is nullified by them picking up a cowl.
: liandry's torment does work effectively with ap assassins
Funny you say that, Liandry's is being mini reworked on PBE to work better on DoT champions, while Morello's is being replaced with a magic pen item that makes a lot more sense on burst mages.
: Wednesday.
Yup just got confirmed for 7th Feb
: Annie needs a new Splash Art and a rework cuz of the new video
I think her gameplay and art style is fine. What I _Reaaaally_ want is a voice over update to fit her new backstory better.
: Or, they are trying to make it so more playstyles work on him without being unhealthy.
Yeh. They're doing it so you can have fat cat, magic moggy and critty cat in addition to regular assassin rengeasy.

: Swain Update
Not sure if the schedule has changed because of the big patch, little patch, big patch idea they're trying out, but normally patches come out either between Tuesday and Thursday mornings every two weeks. The last patch was the 24th/25th of January so assume Wednesday or Thursday. And I do too, for I too enjoy shooting lightning out of my hands. I'm thinking about making an alt account called "UNLIMITED POWER", buy swain, and quote the emperor a whole bunch in game.

: When fighting Kog-lulu do you kill kog or lulu first??
Lulu's W and E have a long cooldown. If she's already used them on the Kog'maw, kill him with fire since the Lulu has already buffed him and his damage is a lot more threatening than her Q. If you can, try burst one of them down while the other is away warding or roaming. Even getting Lulu to ult herself is helpful since she's lost a peel tool for a good minute and a half, and will have have to choose between buffing Kog, or CCing anyone looking to kill him in the next fight. Burst is preferred to kill him since even by mid game he can out DPS a lot of ADCs, but the best weapon against him is CC since he's so immobile. In the late game however, he's likely got enough attack speed to manage without whimsy so assume Lulu'll be thinking more about using her W to polymorph.
: ????
While we don't know the exact formula for this, grading is apparently partially determined by how others perform with a champion in that role. Riven jungle isn't common, so having the second most damage on your team, the highest kill participation, more CS than your mid laner, and the most gold is probably a sign they played pretty darn well. Scribbling over everyone else's name doesn't do much when we can just check yer match history, but still good on you trying not name and shame them for... doing well I guess? Meanwhile you didn't play badly, but you didn't play stellar either. Your kill participation and damage aren't amazing. You did have decent objective damage though, which I always thought helped but I guess not.
: Poppy Jungle
So compared to other junglers Poppy doesn't have the strongest ganks but her damage isn't the issue. While she has a gap closer and slow on her Q, her E stunning is circumstantial. While her disengage can be god tier thanks to her Ult and W, her engage in the mid to late game is limited IE proccing your Frozen Mallet is going to be difficult once you've thrown your buckler especially given how Poppy isn't an auto attack based champion like Shyvana or Xin Zhao. Personally, I think you'd be better off rushing either a righteous glory if your team needs engage, or an iceborn gauntlet if you need versatile cc and damage from the sheen proc. I've looked at your match history and I think I have some recommendations to help you. 1. Max Q first. Maxing E first is why you're probably not doing any damage early, and even if it doesn't help your ganks you'll clear a lot easier having your Q on a lower cooldown. Assuming a long drawn out gank takes 20 seconds, maxing E first gives you two uses, maxing Q first gives you 4 uses. You'll also find farming a lot easier/ quicker so failed ganks don't set you back as far. 2. Consider swapping Grasp of the Undying for Aftershock. Grasp of the undying is more of a rune for trading in lane while Aftershock is better for engages and ganks. Even a non-stun E will activate it. 3. Scorch probably isn't worth it for the same reason as Grasp of the Undying. You're not using it very often, and the damage isn't amazing. The value from transcendence is probably better. Hope these tips help

: Rengar
They're pretty intent on reverting him, but they want him to be healthy on multiple builds. Their main concerns are whether Tri-Q is balanced or not, if they can keep AP, Crit, and Tank Rengar, and overall balance concerns which they don't think they can resolve on a single PBE cycle.

: Zileans rework. A real time master
While I like some parts of the kit suggest, honestly, I think Zilean is fine. I actually use him as an example of how to balance a champion around one central damage ability (looking at you Zoe). His kit is old and simple, but rather than outdated it feels timeless. It has AoE burst with a decent AP ratio, a unique W which can create some unexpected combos if timed well, a simple but versatile E, and arguably one of the best ults in the game. He can function as both a mid laner and support, and has even seen semi-regular play as recent as spring 2017. If I had one main criticism of the kit you outlined, I'd say that it pigeonholes him into the support role when it seems to me that he sees more success in the mid lane. Riot have actually said they're looking to keep champions viable in multiple roles, as seen with the Ekko changes to try make him work in the jungle. The kit you've suggested I wouldn't mind seeing on another champion, but I just feel that Zilean needs a visual update rather than the full caboodle. If they changed his story and the extent of his powers a bit, it could create room for another time-travel based champion. Unfortunately, because of Ekko I'm not sure if they'd be willing to have a third time based champion.
: In my opinion, Zoe's W is unhealthy for league.
Summoner spells have always had a massive impact on balance in league. All champions have to be balanced around flash, and now we have summoner's spellbook Riot is realising again how important access to summoner spells is. Balancing through RNG just isn't enough, especially when it's thrown into an already strong kit that doesn't need it to function.
