: Fanboy alert
It's not about being a fanboy. I've played since season 1. Yes, I like the game. No, I don't think this season is the best, it's far from it. I much prefer season 2/3, but I can't change that. Back in those years, we didn't get free shit given to us. I'm just grateful to receive free shit from playing the game. Yes, I think the events can be better, I'm not denying that, but at least it's something. Besides, You'd be calling Riot money grabbing d!cks if it was a big event with an event pass, since there's one coming next patch too.
iaapvper (EUW)
: 1VS1?
But why? What does that prove? I'm not a good player mechanically so you'd probably win a 1v1, but I'm a very good macro player, so I'd win more games than you simply because of that.

: Who on the balance team actually thought the riven buffs on the PBE are okay.
Wind Slash minimum damage increased from [100/150/200 (+60% bAD)] to [175/250/325 (+90% bAD)] Damage % increase based on missing health lowered from [0-200%] to [0-100%] correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a nerf? Riven's usually wait till the end of their combos to use the second part of ult, so surely that will do less, or the same amount of damage as live? Not 100% sure tho EDIT: Just saw the ad ratio increase. Still a buff to the damage, but doesn't seem overly obnoxious compared to live. Just means she can all in you a bit more, but she does that anyway so does it really matter?
Nolfinisko (EUNE)
: Absolutely, there must be ups and downs, it would be impossible to keep up with the quality. Yes, they are giving you free things. Not saying it's much, but hey, it's something. What I'm worried about is if the event is compelling enough for the seasonal players to come back? For players that will not buy a SG skin, this is like, I don't know, 20% BE and Hextech Chest/Key boost? Of course, depends on how much you play the game for everyday. If they were to tell you, you get 20% more of BE and Chests and Keys for 12 days or so, would you return to the game and play? I'm sure I wouldn't.
I wouldn't be able to comment on that question, I've got so much free time so I spam league constantly. There has to be small events every now and then, otherwise the community would accuse Riot of trying to steal their money. Can't have a big event with an event pass in patch 9.18 and then have the worlds event pass in patch 9.19. Would look a bit suspicious. Can't wait on the star guardian skins until next season either, they've already been leaked and made. This small events, and small event like it, are not here to bring players back. They're here to keep existing players and give them a little something. It's not much, but it's something that a normal every day league player would get by playing the same amount as they normally do. The bigger events are for the returning players, such as the project event (not a great example I know, but it's something) and the worlds event.
Nolfinisko (EUNE)
: Should we expect more? Event rant
We can't expect every event to top the previous one. That's just absurd. There are going to be events that are "worse" than others, and events that are more exciting than others. Let's not forget that Riot are literally giving us free things for playing the game, why should we have the right to complain? Because we didn't get as much free things as previous events?

If youre argument is to increase revenues than market segmentation is the way to do it. Demographics can be segmented into several markets to help an organisation target its consumers more accurately. Could also be a good way for Riot to differentiate from their competitors - particularly the challengers/leaders eating into their market share. Lastly, I really dont understand what an LGBT skin would look like. Clothes do not define someone's sexual preference.
My argument is there are better and more prominent champions that should get an LGBTQ themed skin. Maybe someone from the LGBTQ community themselves? The colours would most likely be rainbow, since that's the colour of the pride flag.

Why would they make LGBT skins for champions that aren't LGBT? Matchmaking is automated. It takes your MMR and matches you with other players of similar MMR. The matchmaking system controls matchmaking.

: I am an Azir one trick in diamond 4 and im looking for a duoQ partner. (16+ and plat 2+)

: Suggestion - filter for ranked !!!!
You have 9 death averages across most of your champions played. You play ignite smite every game. You average less than 3 cs/m across most champions you play. You're rune choices are just poor. From looking at your op.gg, you look like a troll. If I saw you in my champ select I'd insta dodge because I'd be thinking you're just inting the games away. This has to be a troll post.
: But yet somehow champs like Syndra, Pyke... and all those champs with flashy playstyle, high chance for pentakills and stuff get buffed right before worlds... hmmmm..
Because it's exciting. It's a wellknown thing that Riot buff certain champions/playstyles/roles before worlds to make worlds more exciting. No one is gonna watch a 40 minute 0 kill game. But people are going to watch a 30 minute 40 kill game. Or a game with lots of new and exciting picks. Regardless, that's beside the point here. Yuumi doesn't need the love because she's far too strong in the right hands.
: Riot itself stated that game wont be balanced only around pro play, and while I see your point, in SoloQ she is pain to play, coz, as I said, no early game = no win.
The game isn't balanced only around pro play. But there are slight exception in that the game has to sometimes be balanced around high elo. Yuumi's playstyle naturally requires the player to be of a higher skill level simply because there is so much to that champion. And thus, Yuumi has to be nerfed to the ground so she isn't abused in higher elo, but by doing this she is losing a lot more games in low elo so the win rate is skewed massively. And btw, there are a hella lot more statistics that go into "balance" than win rate.
Rouhsif (EUW)
: One current and one former employee are suing Riot Games in a class-action lawsuit citing gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, and unequal pay. hmmmm
I could sue my next door neighbour for stealing my house, doesn't mean it's true. I'm not saying the employees (or former) are wrong, I'm just saying I need evidence to believe them. FYI, I haven't kept up with the case AT ALL. I have no idea what has and what hasn't been proven.
: Can Yuumi get some love?
Winrate =/= everything. She suffers the same problem as Kalista, Azir, Ryze. She's permaban in competitive play, having a 82% presence rate in the summer splits across all the regions, and 93% presence on patch 9.15 and 66% on patch 9.16. In the right hands Yuumi is a destructive force to be reckoned with, a massive healbot that would put Soraka to shame and a huge teamfight ult that controls the momentum of the teamfights. In the wrong hands, you have an 0-11 cat rolling on the floor.
Zineus (EUNE)
: i remember season back where you would go into games vs higher ranks than you if you have big win streak.. playing with same ranks after 9 win streak seems kinda stupid.. did riot change anything about mmr and matchmaking? ive seen people saying they get 50lp a win.. it used to be max at 35+- (cant remember if it was more or less)
In placements you get inflated LP gains, up to 71 ish. Riot has changed their system to punish smurfs a lot harder. Not with bans or suspensions, but if you have 80% win rate in 10 games, you will be playing against much higher opponents than if you would do that last season. I believe, from mine, my friends and now your experiences, they have changed the system to be more forgiving for players with a lot more games played. That would mean the system is a lot more accurate to determine your skill level which will match you against players of similar ranks more often.
Zineus (EUNE)
: mmr is trash
Well, yes and no. The basics of the mmr system is that a win increases your mmr and a loss decreases it. How the matchmaking system works is it takes your mmr, finds other players that are similar to your mmr, so if you're 1650 mmr (totally made up number) the system will search for players between 1600-1700. If the system can't find players that close together it will expand to 1550-1750 as an example. Then the system creates an average for your team and the enemy team. If your team has a higher mmr average, you will get less lp for a win and lose more lp for a loss, if your team has a lower mmr average you will get more lp for a win and lose less lp for a loss. Being gold 1 and getting matched with and against gold 2s and gold 3s sounds natural to me. It's around the same mmr bracket. The system can't gather all the gold 1s together because there simply isn't enough of them playing at the exact same time. 18lp for each win sounds a tad low, I think it should be either 19 or 20 for an above average mmr value, but it's not as consistent as "I should be earning X amount, why am I earning Y amount". It'll change. Any more questions just reply to this and I'll get back to you as soon as I can to try to help!
: My suggestion is to use their brains but I find it actually really hard for them to do that, giving the fact that I am not the only one who has this problem. And do you find it right to get permabanned for flaming? I totally agree with the racism and the suiciding thing. Isn t mute okay? What if somebody really invests in the game and they might get permabanned for no reasons at all comparing to other situations in which the one who flamed in the worst possible ways is somewhere out there doing the same thing over and over again.
They tried permamuting, players found ways to grief in worse ways. They tried giving permabanned players a chance to earn their main accounts back, that had a 97%-ish fail rate. (Twice btw, one was fairly recent) The system is automated and is defined mostly by what players deem as unacceptable. Back in the tribunal days where it was manually done, there was a lot of mistakes. People were punished when they shouldn't be and others were not punished when they should have been. Need I go on?
: Pointless to main Irelia, is she trash?
Why bother looking at statistics? If you like a champion and have fun with said champion, play that champion. You can still find success regardless of win rates. Play what you have fun with, don't be a sheep and follow everyone else.
: What IP addresses i need to block in my firewall to block TFT from my system/router/network
: by law, technically yes. you can't hide things behind a paywall, you NEED to give the players a chance to not pay (if you want the game to be considered free to play, that is) of course, there are chances like overwatch and chances like League
It's not hiding necessary things for gameplay. It's useless cosmetic items. Ofc you don't have to supply free things like that. But it feels better in general for the player.
: if you have 145 champs you are allowed to grind a 145 chests a season idk what's wrong with expecting one when you do well
Except that's false. You can only get a maximum of 52 per year, as you get a chance to earn 1 every week. Therefore, you get 1 chest for every week the season is active.

: Riot explain
"tell us are you f2141 checking every report or you ignore moste of them" No. The report system is automated. The system has made a list based on our (the players) feedback of what is and what isn't acceptable, then checks the game in microseconds to see if the player has done something outside of what the community thinks is acceptable, if they have they will get punished in seconds. You really think Riot has a team to scroll through millions of reports every day? No XD

They both feel as bad as each other, you still lose the game. Which is why promo games shouldnt have more value than any other ranked games. Promos should have never existed, every game in a ranked environment should matter the same. Cause then you get the scenarios where people who arent in promos don't try as hard and those in promos feel like those games matter more. I don't think it should be like this.
Read Viavarian's posts or mine further below, we basically sum up the same response, so not going to repeat.
: Ask overwatch players if they would prefer to play 10 promo games before advancing into the next elo. I don't think anyone of them would say YEAH BOI GIVE US THE HARD WAY! also I can't believe that anyone said ''Yo Riot give us 2 games to advance so people can troll and stop us from advancing!''
"If promos didn't exist, you would advance one division by winning 7-8 games instead of 5-6 games + promos - there is no real difference, you can assume that you would end up the exact same rank at the end of the season." - Viavarian said this above. Effectively, getting rid of the promo games would mean the amount of games needed to climb a division needs to increase to keep stability in the leagues. So instead of promos, you'd just play an addition 2-3 games instead, making it exactly the same to what the system is now. There is literally no difference between regular games and promo games other than how it's perceived. Whether it's still true today or not, back in season 2, Riot got feedback for the old system which was replaced by the current system now. Players feel more rewarded by completing a promo series than just advancing up a number bracket. You're comment of "''Yo Riot give us 2 games to advance so people can troll and stop us from advancing!''" makes 0 sense. Because that can be applied in any game. If you are at 40lp, and you get a so called "troll", you will still lose that game and lose the amount of lp you would lose if you were in a promo series. The only difference is the way this data is perceived. Just because a big bold text says "you have qualified for a promotion series" and when you win or lose you get a tick or cross respectively, it doesn't make it any more or less important than any other game you play in ranked.
: How about removing promo games from league.
What's the difference between losing a game by having one guy run it down in promos compared to not in promos? They both feel as bad as each other, you still lose the game. Back in season 1 and 2, it used to be an ELO system where you would see a set number and it just goes up and down based on wins or losses. Riot got feedback from that system, people found it boring, so they evolved it into the current system which people prefer. Taking away the promos makes it more or less the same as the ELO system, just with smaller numbers
Kurotsu (EUW)
: Theory question about LP
Well, the whole ranked system is designed around this magical MMR number. The matchmaking system takes people of similar MMRs and puts them together. MMR is a very long winded calculation, but in simple terms, it's a base number that fluctuates based on wins and losses, the gains and losses of MMR is affected by the match MMR, so for example, if you were playing at a 1600 MMR game as a 1550 MMR player, you would gain more LP when you win and lose less LP when you lose than someone of a 1650 MMR player. Taking away the MMR system would force you to build an entirely new system of matchmaking, which would probably have to be just an LP/Rank system. There are many problems with this, one of which GLurch explained earlier, but also the fact that queue times would be considerably longer the higher up you go (it is already but to a much lesser degree). We're talking like 5-10 minutes for diamond games, 20-30+ minutes for master+ games. Furthermore, you would have a game that is unbalanced in terms of skill. Your rank doesn't accurately determine your skill level. MMR calculates skill level at a much more accurate rate, because the higher your win rate is the bigger the gains of MMR, and because MMR is a 4 digit number in most cases, there is a lot more accuracy to pinpoint a player's skill. Definitely not saying the system we have no is perfect, it's far from it. It's improved a lot over the past few years, but improvement is still needed. It's simply the best system that we have available atm.

They've already tried to take away the ability to chat permanently. Players just found different ways to grief the game instead of being toxic, such as leaving games more often, intentionally feeding and intentionally griefing (not helping team mates ect). That's why it's not an option.
: chat ristrections
You should have received some chat logs as to the reason why you got this punishment. They should appear everytime you log in. Care to share with us?
: So you're saying there's basically only 3 support items for tanks that gives cdr ? Isn't that a bit .. boring / repetitive ?
Well no. Because there is still redemption/locket to situationally buy against heavy aoe teams or against high amounts of burst. There's control wards that you have to have a free slot for anyway most of the game. Mikaels is always a nice item against any cc (which 99% of teams have). Some Leona's and Nauti's like buying a stoneplate late on in the game for more defense. Taric's sometimes likes buying a tear item and/or ardent. Some high engage supports like to buy righteous glory/shurelyas occasionally. And that's just for tanks. There's also twin shadows, athenes, and probably some more items that I can't be bothered to look up since I've already made my point.
: 'it's not possible to permamute your chat, it's against our rules :(' Yo rito. WTF?
There is literally an option now to disable ally chat, all chat AND to unbind your pings so it is pretty much impossible to be toxic if you have those options checked unless you actually put effort in to be toxic.
: We need an armor cdr item to support AD casters
Knights vow is always good as it heals you as well as reduces damage on the chosen person. As well as that, the stats it gives are the stats that tanks like Leona need, hp, armour, cdr. Zekes is 90% of the time good because there is usually an auto attacking based champion on your team, doesn't have to be put on your adc. Plus the stats are really good. Never build frozen heart on leona, or any support for that matter. It sucks. Iceborn is only good as a meme item on the likes of Leona or Blitz. 90% of serious games you never build it. CDR is already an easy to obtain stat. Support item + Zekes + Vow + Redemption is cap, but you won't want cap really. Leona isn't a champion you need cdr cap on. We really don't need another cdr item for tanks, there is so many already. Sincerely, a diamond support main.
: Do they unban?
The best thing to do is to contact support. Although, I'm almost certain you will be left disappointed because there is no way to prove (I think) that it wasn't you on that account saying those things. Account security is usually left in the hands of the person playing on the account.
thwifo (EUNE)
: Riot's ban programs are disgusting
Seeing someone else break the rules doesn't mean you can break the rules too. Everyone who breaks the ToS or the summoners code will be punished accordingly. It's not rocket science.
: What's wrong with ranked?
Because that's how people want the system. If you're a good player in an elo that doesn't fit, you will be punished. The community wanted it to be harder on smurfs and this was Riot's solution. But in doing that, it punishes other players playing for the first time ect.
Shamose (EUW)
: Why does Riot always find a way to make Pro play boring?
League pro play is all about winning and becoming the best you can be. Back season 3-5, and the SKT Dynasty, the best teams were the ones who did the unpredictable, who went full aggro when they shouldn't. Teams got used to that playstyle. The high risk high reward playstyle is not a good one now, it's too risky. Teams will do whatever they can to win, which is why we see the boring wait until 40 minutes scaling comps. Because they work. Not much Riot can do. If they nerf these boring champs or buff other champs, teams will find other safe options to scale with.
