: It's not that hard to choose masteries tbh. For AD either the Crit one if you buy much crit Chance, or fervor if you don't. For AP Deathfire's if you are poky or have sustained dmg, and Thunderlord's for burst. ---------------- For assassins Thunderlords can work well. The first one of cunning... Windrunner or something, can work good on Bruisers/Offtanks who have some burst at the beginning and then want to stick to the target. Winspeakers obviously for healing/Shielding supports. --------------- Grasp of the undying for HP stacking tanks. Strenght of the Ages for Armor/MR stacking tanks Bond of Stone for tanky Supports. ^^ --------------- But you can adjust it so much to your personal playstyle, just read through all of them and you'll kinda notice what will help you more. ;)
you make me feel like I made the right choices, thank you.
: Am I the only one...
I'm afraid this will only get worse. Riot is growing rapidly and with more people on the team(s), there will be more changes/champions/skins every month. The saturation grows up to the point, when the majority will just refuse to get overloaded with information...

: Welcome to preseason. ^^' At end of season we have big changes like this every year, and everyone need stime to adjust to it tbh. (That's why ranked rewards were already given out, but it will be reset once the changes are kinda balanced and we start Season 6.) ;)
thx. I do remember there were changes to masteries, (many) champions or items, but they never overhauled them all at the same time iirc. Since I don't play competitive, I'll just stick to a generic AD fervor and AP deathfire built with random items.
: You can always read the patchnotes. The ones of the current patch are on the launcher and you can find older ones on the internet. You can read patch 5.19 - 5.23 and there you have all the changes since worlds. :)

: I don't really see how one terrible rework would cause the E-sports apocalypse. Now, if they keep doing this LoL will just die and they'll be left wondering if maybe they should've moved CertainlyT to some section that has NOTHING to do with game balance. Still just LoL dying, CSGO, DoTA, TF2, Smite, ... will all continue as if nothing happened.
Sports don't change their playground! The reason why Starcraft 1 was played for so long, was its degree of reliance! I played my first counter strike LAN tournament in 1996 when it was just a mod, 3 years before its beta and apart from the smoke-grenades and the market/gambling attracting many people, nothing really changed. Gladly, Gaben can focus on Steam and doesn't need to prey on CS. Blizzard didn't recieve revenue for competitive Starcraft I, changed a few things and still relies on a few partners (not sponsors) like Intel or Dreamhack. In League of Legends there is nothing like that! There is no "players union" with legal rights or a voted representation -like the FIFA- that has to be corrupted first. Riot has all the legal weaponry to do what they want! It's just another huge corporation exploiting the expression "e-sport" for as much profit as possible. They don't deal with us as humans, but as ressource. It's state of the neoliberalism-art when it comes to de-personification and claming the opposite and most of these hypocrites aren't even aware. I'm mad as hell - but I'm going to take some more! :P
: Usually from interviews and histories, what we gather is that, Pro's Play at Challenger teams and Challenger SoloQ, the chances you bump into ''Pro'' teams is far higher usually, that division is only 1%, so already at master you tend to meet people. after few Ranked Challenger Teams etc, Players get noticed and duo with other players etc, And overtime you build a Network or friendlist, Teams usually always have changing roosters, so its all about networking, but that comes naturally once you hit that very small pool divisions both in teamranked and SoloQ The other Option is via Lan parties and Local Tournaments, this was Far more common for the S1 Professionals etc.
there are lot of challenger/master player who never get a shot, because they wait for something/someone to approach them. playing with/for/against challenger teams will get you noticed, although that could be bad aswell. some players will just get "marked" for overestimating themselves, having zero interaction with their team or playing ranked-5's like they play soloQ. its hilarious! teams are made up by people and that's what you need for networks: PEOPLE! the best people to play with are the ones a tick better than you are- for its easy to catch up. LAN's and tournaments are not a different path, they are a consequence of the above mentioned.

: How did pros join there first "pro" team?
67 million players and about 250 pro jobs - you might as well aim to become a rockstar. so how do you become a rockstar? a) like justin bieber: by singing at youtube and being discovered, which is like playing soloQ or a model getting scouted in the supermarket - it's the **fairy-tale** just like winning in the lottery. these stories are not being told, so you get a good shot at becoming pro, they just** abuse the human's need for dreams!** how do you win a lottery? - exactly. b) by working hard: if you learn to play an instrument to become a rockstar, you pretty much lost before you even started. you should learn an instrument because you love to make music and if you happen to be talented, you might have a chance of making a living out of it. I won't bother you with my story, so here are a few words of advice: - if there is a secret to success, it's a **secret**!! don't expect the people on top to help you, for you aim to replace them! - stop lying to yourself! take a few tests to get actual numbers rather than an impression and don't blame your teammates. it's your fault you don't play with the people of your chosing. it's your fault, you don't get feedback from people you trust! - gaming is NOT training! idk why people would believe that shit. you don't learn how to play a song at a concert and neither do you learn how to do the [marseille roulette](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2aSe2qbb64) in a football match. so stop gaming and start working if you are serious! create a training schedule and stick to it! use [reflex training](http://aim400kg.com), [Osu](https://osu.ppy.sh) or something like that for your muscle-brain routines. take a peak into game development, do some theory crafting and plan breaks! if you are too tired to train; if you don't know when to make a pause- you sabotage your progress, because you will train being sloppy. - start networking: if you don't have connections you are literally lost. create or join a team for a certain period of time with certain goals in mind. once that time is up, reflect on what was good/bad and how to improve! most people end up with the confession "I just want to play" and that's when you have to kick them, regardless of talent, if you want to achieve more.

This guide isn't written to satisfy a singly champion or champion type, but rather to give you a decent understanding of how the different champion/lane types all work in conjunction with one another.

when overpow took pantheon mid, I finally could play the HE-MAN in every position, without getting less polite feedback. to block two tower shots with his passive and reset from W, still make him one of the best tower diver ingame. his straight-forward-playstyle does not reflect the less-straight greek gods, but meh... his high base-movement-speed lost value bc of certain item-changes and many new champs just excel at what he does. being a ziggs player, i usually miss my first panth ults, because less distance does not reduce casting time. most of us are glad he did not become a baker. his major weakness, imo, is his great hunger for mana and not being reworked into using AD for his W and R.

: Agreed, kills do not equal skill, but neither do stats tell the whole game's story. Let's take a look at me playing Ziggs in Aram. Depending on the teamcomps, I'm usually trying to cause as much havoc as I can. If my team jumps on one guy that is half dead (like most teams do), I will try to keep the rest of the enemies away. I've had a 4/12/35 (or something like that) ARAM game with Ziggs, where I dealt 50k dmg - that was almost double as much as anyone on my team. Now the opposite: I remember a game (ziggs, aram) with a few other casters. Every teamfight was a mess and people stacked up on each other. To make good use of my AOE, I used my spells on cooldown and my 2nd bouncing bomb was often exploding, just when my "team rotation of skills" left them with very little hp. I had like 8/1/1 and the enemy jayce and (i think it was) nidalee focused their fire. some of that poke was so good, i had to decide which one is going to hit me. The result was pretty much the same: ~50k damage, almost double as much as my teammates and the win - but the stats were very different. The reason why i couldn't carry harder, despite having way more gold, was the enemy. I couldn't get clean shots, because I drew way more attention. TL;DR: my 4/12/35 ziggs had just as much impact, as my 25/7/14 Ziggs in ARAM. To judge a performance, you need to watch the game - not the resulting numbers. edit: and NO, being in a game with somebody is not watching them.
"the hidden carry" - when you are the only source of AP and the enemy buys a locket, than you would need hours of theorycrafting to evaluate its influence. stats can't tell these stories.

: I was not here 3 years ago, i registered when first URF was live, April 2014.
ok. the discussion was all about the resolution and the FOV and here is one comment to describe the root of the problem (even back in 2010, by user muertes): "The correct answer lies entirely in the view matrix Riot has chosen to use in League of Legends. It's not the aspect ratio that answers the question but rather the primary axis selected for Field-of-view (FOV) equations. If the Y axis (vertical axis on the monitor) has been chosen, As it commonly is in 3D computer graphics applications, a wide-format monitor (16:9 | 16:10) will display more of the playing field than a more standard monitor (4:3). Conversely, if the X axis has been chosen to provide the field-of-view value, a standard monitor will display more of the playing field than a wide-format one." summary: the problem is not riot being to lazy, it's actually an openGL issue - if i understand this correctly.
: I know, my point is zoom hack cant really climb you, except you main Nidaale or maybe Lee Sin, but i never played those champions, i never had profit from it so i can make progress in ranked game. I just feel bad i am in same bucket with people who used botrk exploit, scripts, drop hacks and other things that can climb you to challenger. Well, even if i do not get rewards at least i explained i am not one of those. I used zoom out so i can still play this game, i really didnt want to quit.
its sad, that you don't have a widescreen monitor, but its even called "hack" - you must have known its a "dirty solution".

: Fog of war can still be outside your field of view. He was able to see more without moving his screen, which provides him with a tactical advantage.
actually the total amount of pixels are about the same. the problem is, that the hack offers better view to the top and buttom of your champ. these pixel are closer to your champion than the pixel on the side (wide); thus they are considered to be more important!
: I was gold 5 when i got ban, now i am platinum 3 first time in my life, so i am constantly making progress. It's not "hack", i am just good. I wanted to quit LoL after they banned me for zoom hack, because my monitor is much smaller than last one, but someone at forum told me, after i uploaded screenshot that i can make HUD smaller in option, after i did that, i could see much much more, so i continued playing this game. I started playing this game last season, i really didnt know that when i changed monitors only HUD was problem, it was covering half of my vision field. I wish first result on google was "resize HUD" instead "zoom hack"...
Oh dear, I feel truly sorry for you and I do think you only tried to level the playground; alas, you chose the wrong path to do so, because it is hacking into the games files!
Zavion (EUW)
: The cheat in question doesn't actually unfairly influence either team. So your logic sorta falls over.
You can run a 16:9 resolution on an old display (4:3), but people don't even look for that. There was a discussion 3 years ago about the ratio and it has been proven, that a certain "zoom hack" does provide an advantage. edit: iirc: to see more pixel on top and buttom is more valueable than the widescreen pixel to the side.
: Why is Riot so wishy-washy with liberalism?
Thank you riot, for preventing nags like this from doing any more harm.

: Dude, he can get in the middle of enemy team, press R and root them all for like an hour or so. He also have his bandages too, and those things are long as hell. Now, maybe you mean he's weak, before 6, in 1v1 against champions like Xin or Lee. But here's the deal, you don't have to 1v1 those dudes. Just go on an lane, throw your bandage, stun for 2 hours while your team mates take the kill, then go back farming. After 6, you see more than 3 enemies grouped, W, flash, R, E, bandage, GG, jungle is so easy. To OP, if you are having success with an specific champion in SoloQ, do what are you already doing. It does not mater if you are building {{item:3077}} on {{champion:32}} . If that thing wins you games, keep doing it, don't change a thing.
I remember amumu to base 3 times before he even reaches 6. at this point, most jungler will have eaten half or your jungle, setup vision in your jungle and gain a one- or two-level advantage.
: Its related with the face because in early times, the face of that employee was taken to be smug and so it was related with "jokes". Kappa was also used in folklore, as a man turtle who used to warn of impending danger when serious, but otherwise when not serious they were tricksters, so again sarcasm and joke etc. Also, the employee's name was Josh DeSono, but was called Josh Kappa, his face, the smug mug, was uploaded as an emote to twitch.tv TL;DR - Josh DeSono was fascinated by Japanese folklore, took the name Josh Kappa, uploaded his face as a "smug mug", got popular and kappa was born. Also, to OP, Kappa was used before in aforementioned japanese folklore.

I do go by the same principle and so did the ancient greek! > Eudaimonia (also known as Eudaemonism) is a Greek word, which refers to a state of having a good indwelling spirit or being in a contented state of being healthy, happy and prosperous. In moral philosophy, eudaimonia is used to refer to the right actions as those that result in the well-being of an individual. In this case, well-being becomes an essential value. As for League, I'm afraid 10 years of competitive first-person-shooting kinda left me exhausted in that regard. :)

"Totalitarian state" is the least of our concerns, and it might just be the only solution to live though the next 10-20 years. Our light is about to go off, a bunch of earthquakes (really strong ones) are going to occur. And the least of my concern is humans bombing each other.
yes, with approx. 10 billions years of lifespan our sun is halfway dead. after that it will blow up to the extent of mars and collapse. during this collapse - the supernova - every chemical element heavier than iron will be created. hence all the gold in the universe, was created during supernovae or similar devastating events. for some reason, the end of our solar system does not disturb me at all, but to know, that our universe is going to end in eternal darkness while drifting apart is kind of sad. however, the fate of mankind lies in the hands of mankind - and as long as we we live, we are able to act.

: I've always wondered though. Why do they allow programs to work/modify their game. Now just this sentence sounds retarded, I know it doesn't simply work like that. But I've seen many games just completely let itself shut down as soon as another program is working aside it. For example if (this is a weak hacking program but like I said, example) Cheat engine modifies something in a game (f.e) like Skyforge (mmorpg), the game completely shuts down for you and you have to restart it. And it keeps doing it until you close the other programs. This would be a really good solution and pretty much stop 99% of the current existing modders/scripters. And only the REALLY professional hackers would probably find a (very hard) way to get around it. Probably so hard that it's not for public use like scripts are now. The only downside to this is that things like custom skins, curse voice and so on, won't work anymore. But do I think it's worth? Probably yes.
cheat engine - is a client-side memory hack. the technic is similar to the "[action replay](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_Replay)" we used on the amiga and NO, there was neither multiplayer, nor internet in the ******* 80's! ^^ automated scripting - does not work like that. lets do a simple example: auto-pots! whenever our health drops below a certain point we want to use a health pot. what do we need? - the HP value. if we discover where the HP are hidden in the memory, we would be able to "hook" onto this value. we just "copy" the content from the memory and work with it, because nowadays you can program your memory to be resistant to changes. for this example, we don't have to grab that information from memory, because our display (GUI) shows a green healthbar. in this case we tell the program: IF green pixel (at position XY) turns red -> health pot.

I'd recommend playing an ADC without escape, to practice being a glass-cannon: Ashe - because she has 2 global abilities. if you make good use of them (spot the jungler, or jungle camp timer), you will help your team without leaving the lane. Kog'Maw - because he is a hyper-carry and living artillery (with a weak early game) Jinx - because she is cool.
