: No other massive company has issues like Riot does. Riot has issues on a daily basis. Only other big af company I can think of that screwed up in a game are from the MMORPG genres, such as FFXIV or ESO. However, those two games were bad in the beginning. BUT the teams worked SO HARD on the game and literally revived it. It's never been bad since. A path which riot is heading down towards is that of Jagex's, namely Runescape. Runescape is dead now. Why? Because the team didn't give a flying f*** about the game and tried to make as much money as possible. Never listened to the player base, and introduced a bunch of weird shit without even testing it properly, or never balancing anything. Riot nowadays introduces new champs that are so broken it's not even funny. Balance team is a joke, no need to explain there. Instead of focusing on existing champions and tuning them ALL for the current metas, they simply dont care. Why? well, they love to keep introducing new things into the game. There will be a point one day when there are simply too many champions to take care of. Introducing new things is fine imo, but not when it's literally unbalanced or doesn't make sense, and especially if older stuff seem to be simply thrown aside. Yes its true balancing the game between PRO aspects and the general community isn't easy, but like I said, maybe if they actually gave a shit about balancing the game and its champions/items properly or focus on existing champions and items it wouldn't be such a freakshow. Imagine if balance team aren't a bunch of low elos who don't understand the game and actually tested things out properly before releasing them.
Ill just leave this here to the kids who can't seem to respond with facts and defend rito rather than just simply leaving a thumbs down:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Qou2qCU9Ak https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/Koqpn4ob-riot-you-need-a-new-balance-team?show=rundown

It doesn't work well at all in low elo because : > > 1. Low elos have lackluster mechanics > 2. Low elos do not understand most meta champions and simply play them because they watch pros or streamers, or follow the meta. > > You see all these low elos playing viktor/urgot/lissandra/akali/irelia/lucian etc, yet they never actually increase their mmr by a significant margin, and normally drop back down after a while. If meta was all one needed to win, the game wouldn't exist, heck, the pros wouldn't exist. Mechanics matter. Reaction time, memory, intellect, and knowledge matters. This is the difference between low elo and high elo. You are exactly right. Meta is what is being played by the big boys. But let's not forget, the "meta" is "enforced" on all Elos. If you want to win in High elos, yes you need to play the very best way possible with the smallest risk of a failing experiment right? But Low/mid Elo certainly has not this requirement. The opponent isn't playing their champ to the peak performance either. Making mistakes in these Elos is much more forgiving, and so is playing "bad". So yes, Kata jungle might not be the best possible jungler in this patch cycle. But you also don't need the very best to win. You just need a hero that you personally fell comfortable with and play well with. There is no point in playing Lucian when you can't play him well, right? > Sure, be creative. However never have there EVER been a single instance where a meta has been created from low elo. Why? well, because they aren't that good. Not as much as most high elos anyways, who understand the game much more; reading patch notes, understanding item and champion ability synergies, etc. > I think your assumption might have merit. We don't really know (unless someone keeps records when what meta change was created) if all Meta ever came from top but it is very likely. However High elo has a mean of distibuting meta (streams, LCS etc) where as nobody broadcasts or watches low tier Elo. And those who do find a nieche (something like MF support) will consecently climb into higher elo.
Exactly. Most low elo players never ever focus on a small pool of champions to try and become good on. Like you say, it's basically a freakshow. However, it is completely true that no meta has ever been invented in low elo. There have only ever been OTP builds made, which refines as said OTP ranks up.
: Don't make this personal. I have clearly stated my case, you disagree with it, and I disagree with you. So, there is not much point in carrying on with this as neither of us are going to change our mind. You seem to be quite triggered now. You know why I am in Bronze ( and have been for a long time) ? Because I am not very good at this game. Simple as that. I don't play much for most of the season due to work, family, life etc. Not an excuse of course, but look at how few ranked games I have played...not many. Do you know why I do know about ranked, and how the system works? Because I looked it up and have followed Riot's recent posts about the changes, and listened to other knowledgeable players. I actually know how the ELO system works! But...lets say that I knew absolutely nothing about how the system works (hypothetically), it would make no difference to my skill level in the game. So bringing up my rank is completely pointless at this juncture. I particularly like the way you try to make out that I am somehow mentally challenged though: > In this game of brains, namely reaction. intellect, and memory, you clearly belong in the sub species. If you were better at using your brain, you wouldn't be in low elo. This is priceless...if only you knew me in real life, you might think a bit differently to this. But if it makes you feel better trying to belittle me in this way, go ahead.
Lets take a look. Heres what I said: LP does matter in Pre-season. Lp = gaining rank = MMR increased. MMR is still affected in Pre-season. Heres what you said: that is not how it works. winning -> increases MMR -> LP gain/loss adjusted according to how your MMR compares to the average for that tier. The ONLY thing that matters is your MMR, that dictates what your LP is, not the other way around. I stated that Lp matters in Preseason since MMR and LP are correlated. It's how you rank up. Therefore, affecting pre-season. You simply paraphrased what I said. It's nothing personal lmfao. There is a big difference between me making it personal and simply stating the truth. You re-stated my post and say I'm wrong. And you're bronze 5, with a 39% win ratio. The amount of games I see where you have more than 10 deaths is, as you said, triggering. On a side note, I would have given you points if you were more original. Sadly that doesn't seem to be the case, casually resorting to mumble rapping instead of properly defending your argument in this context. No I am not triggered rofl, but quite disgusted. You don't play much? Oh wow. More than 600 games in season 7. Ok. Not much :) You aren't not very good at this game. You're horrible. Big difference. Why? well, because you're not very smart. Reading all those rules, all those updates, patches, shit riot posts, and conversing with knowledgeable players eh? Still bronze 5 OOPS, bronze 4 with 39% winrate. Why? because actuall gameplay is dependant on how well your brain works. No way am I belittling you. Simply the truth. Or are you going to deny hard facts? If you were better at using your brain would you not be better at this game? lol. Bringing up your rank was additive to the fact that you saying Pre-season doesnt matter, or you 'expertly' rephrasing what I said about Lp and MMR. You're low elo, and thats a fact. You know nothing about this game, except what others know or have said.
: Its league the only thing you can say its gg or ggwp. Any tipps even they are written in normal way, are often taken as insult. So its better to play with /mute all you will have higher chance to win then.
Yup. this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is the century of snowflakes.
: Dude picked Cho mid into a Zed. He bttfcked the Zed harder thananything ive ever seen and continued to bttfck the enemy team troughout the game. Just because something doesn't fit your image of "meta" doesn't mean it can't work. Brand supp, Mf supp (lmao) Lucian, vayne top, this is all bs that isn't "normal" yet it became meta. Maybe be a little more creative in the future. It's not like if you pick the right champ you win. You can counterpick AND STILL LOSE. So stop blaming the picks. I started banning Yasuos because almost nobody in my elo can play him. But he is meta. Yet here he is 2/10 in my team, top or mid.
You're right to an extent. I'll explain why. Meta's are intended for high elo. It doesn't work well at all in low elo because : 1. Low elos have lackluster mechanics 2. Low elos do not understand most meta champions and simply play them because they watch pros or streamers, or follow the meta. Sure, be creative. However never have there EVER been a single instance where a meta has been created from low elo. Why? well, because they aren't that good. Not as much as most high elos anyways, who understand the game much more; reading patch notes, understanding item and champion ability synergies, etc.
: I really sorry!
You're fine. It's called feedback for a reason. If a company banned/punished its clients based off of voluntary feedback/criticism then it wouldn't be long before people make sure it dies.

: Wishing cancer on others and caling them a %%%%%%, yet that player is still playing right now
League of Legends is made to be toxic. Maybe Riot tries to make it non-toxic, but they have DEFINITELY unintentionally, in that sense, made the game toxic. Think about it. The game is designed to thrive off toxicity. Emotes alone is a good enough example. In my opinion, context matters. Some people are more emotional, outspoken, and quick to anger. I wouldn't be surprised if the Diana was feeding. You have to realize, ranked games, and even normal games, take time. A lot of it.
: i was with you until that last sentence. You know, it is not about 'being snowflakes' and, as a gay person, I am sure that you understand that using someone's sexuality as an insult is NOT cool. What happened to you is that you had a false positive. No system is 100% perfect. Seeing that 90+% of the time, people using the word 'gay' in chat are actually using it as an insult, I think that it is perfectly understandable that the system makes the occasional error. Just so long as Riot correct that mistake afterwards.
It is about snowflakes. People these days, especially in the younger generation, try way too hard being politically correct, adhere to the playbook in all contexts, play the victim card, and generally have no common sense. Face it, a lot of people in league report you because they're snowflakes.
: What im talking about are players going 0/5 in lane against Riven or something that are 5/0 and yet they keep fighting them over and over again going for 0/5 to 0/6 to 0/7 ;) Thats intentional feeding. YOU CANT win that fights. And this is diamond elo
Give up buddy. This WA5ABI65 guy is bronze 4 with 39% win ratio. He's one of those pathetic low elos that think they know everything lmfao. Bet he's one of those that feed.
: >Which makes LP relevant to my argument? LP is only relevant during the season. In preseason you can rank up but it achieves nothing in terms of season rewards. MMR is really the only meaningful thing that will change during preseason. >You literally stated LP doesn't matter because it's preseason. I literally NEVER said that, but I do agree that LP doesn't matter during preseason. >Winning = increases MMR AND gaining LP. You get LP, you rank up or get demoted. It's that simple. I know...that is what I said. >People like you trolling in pre-season rofl. "LP doesn't matter" Not trolling, just stating facts. >Stay forever stuck, poor bronze boy. If my rank was relevant to this discussion, then I would make a response. I am glad that you have had to resort to this level of argument; it shows me that you have nothing else to bring to the discussion. Therefore, I can ignore whatever you say next.
You're so mentally challenged it lowers my IQ by the seconds. However, it's my bad. It was another mofo that stated LP doesn't matter in pre-season. Yet, your argument is this : " that is not how it works. winning -> increases MMR -> LP gain/loss adjusted according to how your MMR compares to the average for that tier. The ONLY thing that matters is your MMR, that dictates what your LP is, not the other way around." And of course, let's not forget you agree that LP doesn't matter in pre-season. 1. Winning = Gaining LP = Gain in MMR. LP depends on the MMR of your team, you, and the enemy team, and the average MMR of those at your LP. Look it up. The only thing that matters is MMR? lmfao. We know that. IDK wtf u were trying to say what doesn't work. 2. LP doesn't matter in Pre-season? Wanna know why I brought up the fact that you're bronze 4 with 39% win rate? It's because people like you don't understand ranked properly and you think you do. There's a reason why you're bronze for three consecutive seasons. And i'm pretty sure that's not changing. 3. Your rank is relevant to this. This isn't a level of argument, or nothing left to bring to the discussion. You're bronze 3 39% win rate saying what I said about Winning = +LP = Gain MMR isn't how it works is laughable. You then proceed to state exactly what I meant. Here's the big reveal of why your rank is relevant: In this game of brains, namely reaction. intellect, and memory, you clearly belong in the sub species. If you were better at using your brain, you wouldn't be in low elo. That's right boy, "LP doesn't matter in Pre-season" yeah buddy. Keep telling yourself that. Good luck on getting out of bronze. I don't think you ever will though, seeing as how you needed Riot's complete rank revamp to even get to bronze 4. Disgusting.
: >LP does matter in Pre-season. Lp = gaining rank = MMR increased. that is not how it works. winning -> increases MMR -> LP gain/loss adjusted according to how your MMR compares to the average for that tier. The ONLY thing that matters is your MMR, that dictates what your LP is, not the other way around.
Which makes LP relevant to my argument? You literally stated LP doesn't matter because it's preseason. Winning = increases MMR AND gaining LP. You get LP, you rank up or get demoted. It's that simple. People like you trolling in pre-season rofl. "LP doesn't matter" Stay forever stuck, poor bronze boy.
: Same here. The sad part is that riot gives us 0 information. When will they fix it? Will we give us a refund or they will give us the pass? How long will it take?
Riot is never going to openly admit a mistake on their behalf. All they ever say is 'we know theres an issue with ...." They're like Jagex. Remember how EOC ruined runescape? Well, took Jagex more than 8 years to admit that EOC was a mistake. Riot is like Jagex, they're trying to milk as much money as possible. Design team, Balance team, all these flaws and they take forever to fix them. Broken new champions, and all that BS about how they wouldn't have known it'd be broken? Like seriously. Give it a decade, and Riot will have killed league. The problem with league is it is ALWAYS changing.
: http://eune.op.gg/summoner/userName=Kog%20da%20MVP%20v2 well my wr is only 60% but after 10 win streak i get 12 lp and lose 24 how is that even possible? Also its my highest rank on this acc so i never dropped even 1 division. also i know friend who just leveled acc up like you and played placements went 8/0 iron 1 and playing vs platinums but he get only iron 1 lmao. I'm 100% sure riot destroyed mmr ranking by making new divisions like many new thing they did not well but i can't see anywhere that riot tell us its a bug or something and they work on it which mean they doesn't work on it? i wonder
Back before this rank system change, getting 12lp in diamond 3 isn't weird at all. Losing 24 however is a bit much...and especially since you have a 60% winrate too. Lets see what rito says about their screw up ;) Also, goodluck to those 12 year old kids who troll in pre-season and end up in iron 4 next season LOL
: I think it your Win rate dosen't matter in iron more like better Grade you get S,A+ more LP you get. EDIT: Same issue here i think Division is bugged
I don't think grades affect LP...LP is calculated by who is on your team and who is on the enemy team and who wins But yeah...its not bugged it's obvious they made an error
Smerk (EUW)
: it's preseason, so LP doesn't matter. Reset at the start of next season will fix everything automatically.
LP does matter in Pre-season. Lp = gaining rank = MMR increased. MMR is still affected in Pre-season. If you finish at Gold 1 at end of season and leave it there until next season, placements probably put you in high silver/low gold. But let's say you made it to plat 1, placements is putting you somewhere in gold.
