: 140 champions were made in so many years of development, I remember they used to release like one every 2-4 weeks. The problem though is that some champions are totally outdated and requires more than simple number balance patches in order to get some more relevance, besides that some meta champions are simply better choices rather than outdated ones, since they stay inconsistent in many ways. Outdated are usually out of meta and has basically bigger chances to lose as long as 2 same level players would play. New champs are not released mostly because there is already a big champion pool, they develop and test a lot of them though, the more champions, the harder game will be to balance in order to make it at least acceptable, thus a lot of reworks on existing champions, besides that I believe they want to fix their lore / their identity overall for their next game based in Runeterra universe. By the way, I'm pretty sure they were considering map skins, I think they did even mention it many years ago, but seems that they put it aside, with enough people bringing that up on reddit/forums they could consider it again, I think it's still worth it business-wise.

That is true , I remember the 2.- 3 week period as well. I don't know the numbers of how any people work in each section of character design and/or maintenance. But lots of patches go through very often. Maybe it's too much work... It would be good to hear from them. The support is large!

: What do you think guys of seperate skins for the maps
I literally wrote something about this a few days ago. https://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/community-creations-en/fHH4wmMq-map-skins I think it would be brilliant!

: Vanilla + 4 map skins would be probably great to have for League actually, so they could put up 5 different map skins for bo5 e-sport matches. It will obviously require a lot of work, but for as big company as Riot I think it shouldn't be that much of a problem, besides that they can do it over the long period of time, probably to release them throughout 2-3 years would be ideal. SR seems to not exist in the world of Runeterra, so map skins are actually totally legit to exist in lore, besides that it gives more opportunities to give player some more lore or show some elements of culture, architecture of this world. The drawback is that developing map skins will be very costly and besides making players happy, they won't really make Riot earn much more, they probably could make more money by investing it on marketing, however it may increase the retention/average lifetime of the player, but this is something rather difficult to measure (from dev perspective). I would probably give it a go anyway from Riot perspective, since trying new options to keep player entertained and leech more money from them is totally worth it, for the sake of future. The map skins could be released for events and then put into standard mode as well. Sorry for a little chaos in my post, but I put an all-nighter after a day without much sleep time, so Im super tired, but if I wouldn't write it right now, I would forget forever!

Yeah exactly! We think alike! The things you mention are 100 % true but knowing that SR had an update in 2014 (I think... Can't remember) . Maybe they have a platform to work on...? As you mention, riot games have a great team behind the design of the game. Its no suprise they have 140 + champs. Maybe they could work on map skins instead of new champs Btw no need to worry. No chaos! It's good to know someone took the time to read the post and reply. :)
: new map
