I guess if I really want lv6 I need to buy these boxes to try and get champ shards i dont need to disenchant them to get the blue stuff? How many champ shards will i need to go through to get the 500? thanks

: > Ive got about 8 greater runes and want to get the rest up. Every edge counts! So I'm after some help on being more efficient collecting IP Don't really think there is an efficient way of getting IP, I just know wins give more, and long matches give more too (obviously), so my advice; Just play, enjoy playing and the IP will come faster. > Also when building items to counter opponents builds... how should i respond to them building armour compared to building HP? does AD better counter one and lethality the other? Armor -> Last whisper Health -> Giant slayer Both build into Lord Dominiks Regards, which is the best tank killing AD item. Just remember you of course still don't oneshot them like you do with an AD Carry. > So to try and bag a S rank is there anything else I should be doing other than the obvious kill - death ratio?? tips? - KDA - Kill participation - CS - Your role (top, mid ect...) - The champion's average performance (getting an S is easier on a trash tier champion. I remember going like 7/7 on Azir and still getting S, talon is statistically not one of those champions, so he might take some time to get an S) - Damage dealt and taken??

: Talon has multiple build paths. Generzl rule of thumb is that if they only stack armor, you get cleaver or last whisper and continue building damage. If they build hp without armor, get lethality and damage items. If you need to survive, get some defensive items like hexdrinker. Keep in mind these items will stall damage.
Right. For my attack runes atm my quints are greater AD and marks are 2 greater AD and rest lethality. That sound right for a start point?

: Taking Talon (mid) to the next level
I've just verified my email and got 4 win IP bonus. Very happy

: Lethality is good against champions who have LOW armor. So basically against champions who have little to no bonus armor. If the enemy is building armor, you should get a last whisper or black cleaver. If the enemy is building hp but no resistances, go for lethality ad items.
perfect. thats what i wanted to know!

: I wouldn't worry too much about the items since you're new to the game and there are many many other things you have to worry about. On top of that most Talon players usually go for the same items. If you're up against an AP champ that deals too much dmg you can get in a hexdrinker earlier. Other than that just check probuilds.net and copy what pros do. There are standard tier 3 runes which cost half as much as the others. I think they are armor pen reds, armor yellows, magic resist blues and attack damage quints. Should be absolutely fine for a beginner. > So to try and bag a S rank is there anything else I should be doing other than the obvious kill - death ratio?? tips? Your farm and wards placed/killed also contribute to an S rank.
Thats really helpful, thanks! I'll get to work on those wards! I think thats the part of my game furthest away from where it should be. i imagines there a youtube video on it... Yeah, all the greater runes ive got so far are the cheap ones, but im wanting the greater lethality now. will get there.

: Flat ad is is much better in the early game than the lethality ones. Lethality is a stat that scales from your opponent's level which means it's inherently weak in the early game but better in later stages. Magic penetration doesn't scale from your opponents level and is being used with its full potential from the start. Magic penetration on marks is generally better than ap because ap isn't even straight damage. The damage you gain from ap depends on what champion you play and the ratios on spells. The amount you can get ap from marks is generally weaker than magic penetration.
I have a follow on question... if im choosing attack items to most effectively counter an opponent's defencive items how should i choose? does it work like if they build HP i should get AD and if they build armour i should focus on lethality? or the other way around? or always just one? im mainly playing talon mid btw. my runes are split AD and lethality
